thanks for the feedback (as always, since I remember your posts before :D ).
As for the Not at War thing, @Numahr or futuregary, what do you think? SELIN's your domain :D
But yeah, the CB's themselves are my responsibility, and I've been looking to balance them lower since pre-TOG anyway

Regarding the authority for not at war malus, here is my understanding.

Presently they concern two types of religion:

- martial soul, for obvious reasons. Martial religions also get a very handy Sacred War CB which they can use easily. So I think, beside tweaking down the effect, nothing should be changed here.

- "tribal" civilizations, meaning Tengri, Norse, Celtic and all "Barbarian" civilizations (including German, Berber etc.). These simulates the fact that in these civilizations, the formalization of power structure is still partial, and so the different components of a given realm will give less authority to the ruler without the motivating factor of a war. As a balancing factor, all these religions get the ability to raid.

So either you can use the sacred war CB, either you can raid. If you have the no war prestige malus but no access to sacred war CB or looting, then something is wrong... Otherwise I think the design is OK, even after 2nd thought... "Raid or kill some unbelievers, or else loose your authority!"

Note to riknap: since the sacred war CB of martial religions is an integral part of this malus' concept, as explained above, maybe it should be "lesser": less costly to activate, but so less piety gain. The idea then being that martial religions should be in some form of war by default, even if just for the sake of happily slaying some unbelievers...

2nd note after 3rd thought ;): if people (or AI!) find martial religions to hard because of this malus... then rather than removing it, we can think of other boosts to this soul to keep the concept, like increase further existing military bonii. But I would say, let's start with a tweaking of the martial soul-specific sacred war CB.

I think that there is an issue with allowing non-priest characters to hold bishoprics. This is creating a serious dearth in the number of qualified religious advisers, and makes it impossible to get a Sol controlled patriarchy. I commented out the line
can_hold_temples = yes
and reloaded, finding that not only did it recognize that a solar imperial held Alexandria (Which I had conquered and given to another solar imperial), but I also had a much larger pool of solar imperial to hire as my religious adviser. Is it WAD to have the formerly stated effects present in Solar Imperial as well as other religions that have the same "can_hold_temples = yes" line?

it shouldn't. But currently those files are making them required (we accidentally forgot to remove them properly). Just delete them as they shouldn't be there in the first place anyway.

I'm not exactly sure with what you mean by "huge city population fixes"? If you're referring to the bug that cities are graphically sprawling/large, then it has little gameplay impact and has nothing to do with doomstacks invading.
if you could, could you post screenshots? I'm slightly having difficulty determining what issue you're referring to.

...
I...
so somehow it got integrated. Okay. I don't recall making it so, but I'm probably misremembering.
In any case, if I recall correctly I think I reduced the vassal opinion of that file to 10 but increased authority to 0.3. I really need to get my files into order.

I'll be honest - I haven't played post-TOG long enough yet to actually run into rebellions and revolts, but the way they're described make them interesting but seem like they need to rebalanced. I'll look into it, though we're prioritizing get LI and its basic components into order first.

to be honest, I've never had significant feedback on the longterm gameplay effect of Authority aside from balancing diplomacy menu costs, though I'll definitely need to look into it as well.

The predominant thing that's costing authority/prestige though are the CB's, which I'll be rebalancing soon after I get buildings done so consider it a medium priority issue.

I'd really love to know what this is. Can you post screenshots? It'd help me determine the issue and prevent it from affecting others.

huh. I'll check it in game and see what's kludging. Though does anyone know what could be the cause?

It's a vanilla bug I'd guess.

on a side note, has anyone of those who have deleted the files I've mentioned still getting CTD's?
to prevent CTD's regarding SI, just delete the interface/mesoamerican_avatars.gfx file
but to be safe, just delete all of these:
avatars.gfx
byzantine_avatars.gfx
mesoamerican_avatars.gfx
mongol.gfx
muslim_councillors.gfx
north_african_units.gfx
orthodox_councillors.gfx
russian_avatars.gfx

?
I'm hoping those are the only CTD-triggers now.

Delete the files mentioned above in the mod folder and you should be good to go.

the only thing that comes to mind is that you're using old building files, possibly because you installed this over an old install (I've changed the building file naming scheme so it's likely your old building files weren't overwritten if that is the case).

I...
so somehow it got integrated. Okay. I don't recall making it so, but I'm probably misremembering.
In any case, if I recall correctly I think I reduced the vassal opinion of that file to 10 but increased authority to 0.3. I really need to get my files into order.

While you probably should get organized, I think this was my fault. I had it running on a previous version and I think I forgot to remove it before publishing.

Frankly, I think it should be a part of the mod, but that's for you to decide.

I'll be honest - I haven't played post-TOG long enough yet to actually run into rebellions and revolts, but the way they're described make them interesting but seem like they need to rebalanced. I'll look into it, though we're prioritizing get LI and its basic components into order first.

It's strange; its like they function the way they're supposed to, but it's more challenging. I haven't seen any of the events yet, but a few sovereign nations have fallen to the hands of peasants.

thanks for the feedback (as always, since I remember your posts before :D ).
As for the Not at War thing, @Numahr or futuregary, what do you think? SELIN's your domain :D
But yeah, the CB's themselves are my responsibility, and I've been looking to balance them lower since pre-TOG anyway

I think a malus of -1.0 would work just fine; perhaps a similar penalty for too few wives as well. If that's still too big, 0.75 is the lowest it should go IMO.

I'd really love to know what this is. Can you post screenshots? It'd help me determine the issue and prevent it from affecting others.

So far, no one else has said anything about it. I think it's your files, yundakkor. I'm a little confused as to what you mean by "populations", since I don't think there are population mechanics aside from garrison/levy size and supply limit.

huh. I'll check it in game and see what's kludging. Though does anyone know what could be the cause?

I think it might have been an issue from when I updated the events. I'll go through them and see what I can fix.

On a side note, is everyone okay if I begin removing the old Norse Mod aspects we discussed? I think I'll probably end up removing most that doesn't deal with going on Viking.

All those religions have what they need to prevent it from happening. The malus makes perfect sense for players, who should have to contend with expansion and war like that. For AI, who isn't smart enough to stay at war to the degree they need, it causes some problems.

We definitely shouldn't remove it, though. It's a vanilla aspect that makes perfect sense in this setting. I just think it should be reduced to functionable levels (if it ends up wiping out the Martial/Traditional religions, then it hasn't really done it's job anyway :p).

While you're here, Numahr, I think there may be an issue with unreformed pentarchy religions; can they use both the reformation and pentarchy?

I think that there is an issue with allowing non-priest characters to hold bishoprics. This is creating a serious dearth in the number of qualified religious advisers, and makes it impossible to get a Sol controlled patriarchy. I commented out the line
can_hold_temples = yes
and reloaded, finding that not only did it recognize that a solar imperial held Alexandria (Which I had conquered and given to another solar imperial), but I also had a much larger pool of solar imperial to hire as my religious adviser. Is it WAD to have the formerly stated effects present in Solar Imperial as well as other religions that have the same "can_hold_temples = yes" line?

...
You commented *out* the can_hold_temples line and it let more people hold the temple?

That's bizarre. The reason it's set like that, though, is because the Imperator is also head of Sol Invictus Priesthood. Without that line, it'll probably show up as an unplayable theocracy; especially at game start. At least, I think.

Heres a screeny of the huge vassel/pop sizes View attachment 84780 And hears a screeny of the Huge siege waits that seem to glitch and repeats itself adding back more days preventing me from attacking at all. View attachment 84781

When you installed the mod, did you patch over or erase everything and install anew? You should have done the latter.

Sorry if this was already posted, but, is it normal that the world is totaly shattered ? I have just one bookmark, and all religions scattered across the world. (it's still an alpha ?)

PS: Anyway, got some weird faiths, Mithraic Christian for instance..

This is an immersive world. Read up on religion and the timeline to learn more, if you dare...

The mod crashes the moment I try open up ruler designer, is this a known error or simply me?

Ruler Designer was broken because MIN_AGE was set to 0. This has been fixed in the current dev build, and next publication will have it fixed.

Or two handfulls of death- and evil-worshipping religions that make the Aztecs feel at home in Euroasia

I fail to see how sacrificing your enemies to a vengeant sun god is anything less than perfect for this world.

Thank you that fixed problem, keep up the good work been a lux invicta supporter since Legacy of Rome :p

Speaking of which, we need to get those mechanics fixed as well :p
