It has to be said that tonight's update (if I post it tonight -and I probably will because I find it a big gameplay improvement) will start adressing the events system. It will be better overall you will see. ;) -note that you can STILL have insanely bad luck, but on average it should be a lot better now.

The trait removal system that's in place now is implemented from Ash's mod. I decided to use it because it was my opinion that it helps with lag - the more traits in the world - the more things to calculate, opinion modifiers, event factors etc -> potential for performance decrease can go off the scale - have you tried playing in the 1300s? The game is laggggggggy - at least it is so for me. :sad:

You can easily find Ash's work in there and the ff_stuff...and see if you find fault with it. I sort of thought that the current implementation was fine overall (not perfect but from my limited gameplay experience - fine). If you can experiment a bit and find a system you think is better and does NOT add a lot of lag, I will be quite willing to implement it! So you could try doubling it or just adding +1 or something, it's just that everything needs to be done with lag in mind.
I never noticed trait-induced lag, or knew about it, at least. Anyway, my playtesting seems to indicate that the personality_traits line doesn't work as I expected, at least according to the console telling me I don't meet the requirement of at least 6 personality traits when my character had 6 virtues and 6 of the white background traits. Will test with changing num_traits to 10 instead of 6 and see if it works better after tonight's release.

I've made some progress on the events. I'm also pleased with the new rate of research. I am now 100% certain I will post an update tonight - even though not everything I want will make it in.

Really enjoying the mod so far, though I am looking forward to the day when lunacy is less... common.

I am surprised at how well lunatic kings can function though! I was playing as the king of Frisia, who went insane around age 22. He lived to be 64, by which point he was depressed, stressed, and maimed. He had outlived four wives, and doubled the size of his kingdom. Oh, and he died in battle, so he could very well have lived a few years more. He didn't let going mad bring him down.

Man, it would have sucked to be a member of his court, though.

Anyway, great job!

I've been adjusting tech research speed... I first upped it significantly then I reduced it somewhat. The new approach is simple: if you want tech BUILD THE TECH RESEARCH BUILDINGS! ;) Tech research will be faster in any case, but you really should invest in those buildings...

The scribes line is your best friend regarding tech research yes. (for castles)

from 0.1g to 0.2b is complitable ... now i think is complitable, right ???

0.1g might not be compatible, 0.2b is...I would say you extract this to a secondary lux invicta folder call it lux2 or something and edit the mod file so you can launch that then see...it might work (with some things going slightly wrong but bearable).

Conquest CBs (playing as Holland - Dutch/All Father faith) seem to always send me into negative piety; possibly they're deducting double piety cost.

If you mean religious I think it's too fast...in my current Seleukidai game by 1100 something all the provinces I had had converted to Alexandros-Ammon... if you mean culture then that is meant to be hard. You see Romans there still in 1066, things convert harder around here. ;)
The spread isn't the problem. What I mean is that there is a 2% chance to conversion right now in my game, and that's way lower than even the lowest in vanilla/

Go ahead, the next versions should be 99.99% compatible I think - that is to say you will be able to continue the savegame - only slight changes to gameplay rules will make some things a bit different....maybe 0.3 won't be but 0.3 is a ways off.

Yes they are it's WAD in that they deduct the proper amount of piety - what they basically do is allow you to start the war with x piety (so the requirement isn't that high) but immediately subtract more - so you won't be allowed to use it anytime soon again. I might look into changing this too.

Another problem I've bumped into are children born with the genius trait who have that trait disappear by the time they become an adult for some reason.

Many things can turn a smart kid into a retard, like blows to the head! :ninja: But, yes that's an unfortunate issue of the current trait system, I will address it sometime...maybe... if I can find a happy medium of fixing that issue.
