It is interesting, it provides a different gameplay style indeed. But I do hope Paradox gets onto the moddable succession laws train. I would like to avoid the unnecessary castrations if possible (I don't want a kingdom full of resented scheming eunuchs, history has had enough of that. :D)
 
Also is there any fluff for some of these religions? I see alot of fascinating ones which just tell me how the religion is supposed to feel. "Ancient ascendent, clerical, soul, statist, etc" While some of the germanic ones tell me "Their warriors paint hellscapes on their bodies and promise eternal torment to their enemies when they slay them!"

that's definitely coming in post-TOG releases, both description-wise and mechanics-wise (the DLC that was made with LI in mind :laugh:)

Yup, we can even have descriptions of the religions and not having to add them into the modifiers! Check video dev diary nº1 when the pointer passes through the religion name in the religion tab of the UI, it shows a little description of Suomenusko. That's dead on spot for LI's eclectic religion range.

Here is the last one I made, for which I had quite some fun creating the little background story ;) :

Slavic Christianity is a local Christian creed of Clerical soul, with strong Slavic influences. Increasing influence of the Solar religions among Slavs has propped the Catholic Church to pay due attention to this new people emerging as power broker in far away Eastern lands. The Pope sent twelve clerical envoys with a strong escort and lavish gifts to make their way to the Eastern edge of the world, meet, impress and convert the kings of the Slavs. For three years, no news came to Rome from the papal Embassy. Eventually an Audianist merchant from Caffa brought one of the chests back with the heads of eleven of the envoys. No more was heard from the Slavs for twenty nine years, until a delegation came, presenting themselves as "envoys of the Bishop of the Holy Church of the Slavs." How the last of the twelve envoys could succeed is not clear, but it turned out a semi-autonomous church for Christianized Slavs emerged. It first organized itself underground, without support from any ruler or the rest of Christendom; hence the Slavic clerics have created a highly organized clergy of their own, replicating the Catholic system. Their allegiance to the Pope is all but nominal.

I concur. Although if he made it a separate module, it would definitely be a cool mini-DLC.

What exactly about Ethiopia urks you?
Nothing irks* me, but Shaytana did release a few screenshots of Ethiopia (realms and religion) from which we can work magic.
 
Okay, going to do some work on my little demi-mod. Hopefully everyone can forgive the heresy.

I do notice that the mod requires the Russian Faces DLC, which I don't have, isn't there a way to make them default to the normal face if you don't have the DLC?
 
Saddly my african faces are black because i don't have the dlc :(
 
iirc, it had something to do with replacing culture files only to make blc not require dlc.
the exact post richvh described it was... well, a couple hundred pages ago. and I can't recall how as well :laugh:

I finally got around to working on integrating your scan results, and I appreciate most of the editing you did.
by "most", I mean I have a few questions, namely:
a) why edit files the mod doesn't even touch? for example, the evil_events.txt is pretty much untouched by the mod? well, unless it was of course causing a pet peeve with the validator false errors :laugh: (though don't you think paradox would likely edit that specific event with the next patch anyway? then again, might as well put it in)
b) I'm curious on why you changed some localisations, like

As for the extra definitions (Pedemontium, Troas, etc.) that was a mistake. I've added a few titles in my files and I had the definitions included in that text. Those won't be there for long, the project I'm working on does some editing to landed_titles (all changes are/will be pre-approved) and part of that requires removing (most of) my customizations.

... of course, it's highly possible I was mistaken, and that that file is also in your folder when scanning and is simply a false error...

also, regarding duplicates for new_plot_events as well as errors with traits_effects_events, I won't touch them for the time being (I'll for the moment assume that richvh has already corrected and edited them during his earlier integration of novaneko's files [now I'm starting to see why novaneko suggested getting an SVN in the first place :laugh: ] ). I'll try resolving most of the missing/duplicate localisation issues though

My first scan, I accidentally had the validator scan EVERYTHING rather than just the mod, so I accidentally included some "overlaps" from vanilla. Oh well, it hurts nothing, I think.

If it's been changed, odds are there was a duplicate in either the CK2+, FF, or VIET files and I just overwrote the old ones with the new ones. Thought it would save you some time in integration.

All will be revealed in time :p I thought I removed those... if not, I apologize. They were removed in my files :laugh: The only one that will be sticking is Pedemontium, but I'll include a 1_titles.csv with the project that overwrites this, so it doesn't really matter what you do with it in the meantime, unless someone is using Pedemontium.

If it were me, I would leave it as is and change all the references from plot_gain_vassal_title to the proper one. The reason is because I don't know what other files might use the proper one and if you go changing the plot's name, it might screw those up.

The localisations or the references? The localisations don't exist, hence the problem. The references are in the files mentioned, approximately around the line mentioned (it won't be exact in every case, simply because I edited some files post-scan and didn't rescan them).

I believe these are false errors. They're missing the localisation key sure, but they'll show up in-game properly. I do recall richvh/novaneko pointing that out a few months ago in a certain thread I started :laugh:


also, some of the missing localisations are apparently vanilla, so do you think that's what's causing the problem - ie. the relevant files "missing" in the Lux Invicta folder but still referenced by the game properly?

btw, I'll upload another test archive with your edits and coptic merges finished though the localisation issues partly solved (okay, 30% solved :laugh:), so could you do a quick scan on that and check how much less validator errors show up?
