Okay i'm extremely confused now. Who is updating Lux invicta at this point, richvh or riknap? What is LIBERT3, do I need to download this to stay up to date from now on? What parts do I download? It gets updated like every day from what I can see. I'd rather just download the main Lux invicta module and not have to add a thousand sub modules that get updated every few days. :/ (No offence intended riknap, your submod seems really good! but I just don't have enough time to put aside for LI warranting me to download sub-modules for it.)

It gets updated like every day from what I can see. richvh is the Preserver, the one who's in charge while Shaytana returns from the multiverse. All official Lux Invicta changes go through him.

riknap is just one of the other modders making improvements, experimenting with code, and creating add-ons for the mod. LIBERT3 is a major overhaul of several systems in the mod. I'm not sure why he did it, if maybe he just finished Shaytana's job or fixed the original alpha issues, but it does a whole lot of things. An earlier version (LIBRT) was used and incorporated into the current version of the mod. I believe that the latest version of LIBERT3 will be incorporated after TOG comes out in the next version of the mod. Until then, riknap will be tweaking it and testing it out by independent attachment. KE is actually a module that doesn't require constant download and replacement of major mod files. Just updating a mod.

That clears everything up. Hmm, guess I'll wait for the preserver to deliver a 1.092 update and then try out this KE sub-mod. Thank you for the comprehensive reply :)

to be honest, librt was originally really just a segregation of the buildings (from sets of 42 into sets of 7, then sets of 7/14/32) to make them easier to identify/take advantage of. then I ended up volunteering to edit cultural retinues. then a slight overhaul of technology followed.
it kinda snowballed from there into general balancing, first of just buildings/technology and their effect gold/prestige/piety/armies, then flavour traits followed, followed by more rebalancing (the most stable of which is represented by v10o), until finally the current rut I am in that comprises of rebalancing mechanics to make gold/prestige/piety/armies at appropriate scales (ie. not the 20k prestige/gold players end up with in vanilla) to keep them relevant even late-game.
Kyrie Eleison is just an optional side project trying to tackle blobbing (via/and the faction system in general).
I just end up updating too regularly until a few days ago because ... well ... I'm slightly unbalanced anyway :laugh:

in any case, RL situation changed and it looks like I'll have less time to spend on getting v11 ready than expected (technical "group projects" should always have similarly talented/skilled members per group - not just one semi-skilled person and 7 others suited only for grunt work :9 ... but I risk ranting).

do you think you could isolate relevant localisation files/lines that display text/tooltips/descriptions (but not of events) that use the word "prestige"? Just the tooltips and maybe stuff like ledger text would be fine - it's pointless changing event text anyway.
You don't need to change them. Just isolate them and blob them into a single .csv file, and I'll rewrite them as appropriate (just replacing "prestige" with "authority" will get confusing).

Of course if you're busy you don't have to :p

in any case, the main reason why I regularly update my contributions for libert3 is because it's both my favourite mod so far and because it also helps me... well, in Hearts of Iron terms, "build up modding practicals" (since it's easier to work on my own mod when I know the basics already than trudge on my own)
those, and because LI is the main thread I regularly visit anyway

edit: are they old autosaves btw or new ones? if they're pre-patch autosaves, it's probably caused by the outdated libert3 causing problems (probably). if they're post-patch ones... use percussive-gravitive maintenance (also known as the "drop cure" )


sorry I still couldn't be of much use right now (in regards to getting libert3 to speed). I'm having trouble getting something else to work

(in fact, in the off chance someone could help me with an off-topic problem, would anyone know why a usb port [a component of a dc supply unit] is only giving out 44mA current [in series to a VOM, ie. no resistive load] ? it's obviously not enough to charge something [a usb has a max of 500mA, barring usb enumeration] - I could PM the schematic in case someone knows how to read it )

It is a pretty big patch, so I would recommend waiting until the mod is officially updated.

I want to play/write an AAR after pre-TOG patch (ie. after I finish v11), but before TOG (ie. before my summer classes begin)

I would say someone would be working on an intermediary patch, except that since it's finally Q2, we should be expecting a release date any day now. I don't think anything will be released until then.
New expansion will be coming in about 6 weeks or so. Chances are fairly good there will be some intermediary patch.

while v10o is ... technically good to go, v11 is fairly stable/balanced (then again, I've been balancing and correcting it over the course of a couple of weeks already), and just needs a v1.092 compatibility fix and adding proper localisations (and an optional primer event)
As for vanilla defines changes, I thought I'd post my planned changes so that you could note them in advance:

I'm going to slightly retweak the prestige/authority modifiers - increasing the truce breaking malus to 75% instead of 50% but reducing the static addition to probably 100, while keeping the marriage-prestige/authority modifiers as it currently is. I'm also increasing max prestige/authority opinion to 30 (I'll keep the divider to 100, so essentially a max prestige/authority of 3,000)

On the army-side, I'm adding a tiny naval attrition of 2% akin to ck2+ values, slightly reducing naval speed to 25 and increasing land speed to 0.33. The assault ratio will also be increased to 15 (the general rule of thumb ... for vanilla [yes that's intentional to have it still be lower than the ideal of 25 IIRC for this libert3 - if I set it perfectly, they'll never "take risks"]).

I'm also considering reducing de jure land needed to create/usurp all titles to 60% as well as setting de-jure drift to only incorporate neighboring de jure lands, and similarly setting duchy assimilation time to be 250 years instead of the current v11 setting of 333, while kingdoms assimilate to empires within 200 years (intentionally reduced, though I'm considering making them equal as well). I'm also setting max empire titles to create to 1 (so that current emperors don't create more empire titles - incidentally also the reason why I'm considering a very slightly lower kingdom assimilation time)

I won't touch others since I won't have time to balance check them (and since vanilla settings work fine anyway)

In any case, once I finish my project (in a day or two since I think I've identified my errors... I think), I could concentrate on getting v11 up to speed.

Looks like your going to have your work cut out for you once the Old gods patch comes out with the new technology system.
yeah, I've read about it.
it actually looks quite enticing. it's become akin to the EU4 system actually (ie. spending points - kinda feels like an RPG)

I'll most likely keep the current set-up of modifiers and localisations, and just spread out the numbers evenly and correct the syntax as necessary.

though obviously this does mean I'll need to also spread out the infrastructure tech markers.

Yeah it looks great. Can't wait to see how you use the pagan reformations as well. Maybe now it can be used instead of the pentarchy for religions like Palagianism who dont stand much chance of taking Alexandria and other far flung places.
