Yup, for sure. I just hope 0.1b2 fixed the intrigue issue.

I'm currently taking a break from fixing stuff - mod seems to be working...and adding flavor events! These are just random flavor events to be randomly triggered to simulate the fact your ruler actually does something on ocassion...like read a book about Megas Alexandros etc.

I am not quite sure how to maximize performance efficiency though...I don't want the new flavor events to lag the game at all. Any tips on event coding efficiency? Maybe having them trigger for player only? (I could not care less if the AI gets them) Not quite 100% sure how to code that though.

Sadly that's basic stuff that does not help in this case. :sad: I've made a lot of events, what I want to know is how to minimize the lag they cause and how to have them fire for the player only. (I don't want the game to have to calculate their firing for every character in game)

I'm going to take a break but before I go I want to ask people who might know more about performance optimisation what I can do to make the mod run faster. Implementing these mods came with a serious performance cost and I am unsure which parts are the major culprits.

Given I think the mod works fine now (if slowed down by the additional mods implemented - still waiting on ideas how to improve speed) I've been working on implementing flavor events. I'm going to post an update tonight featuring events to make your ruler's life more interesting...or get him killed in the process. ;)

I really enjoy this mod. I had played it before you started to integrate the other mods. A big issue that keeps coming up for me with the last 2-3 versions has not been the lag, but the pop-up windows. Specifically, they start off fine and as the game progresses they lack a background, and eventually they become entirely black/blank and are unusable. I haven't dug too far into the thread, so I'm not sure if others are receiving the same problem. Apologies if this has been addressed already.

I am unsure about that issue but it could be a memory issue. I've never had it myself. I advise you try the BLC memory issue fix at the end of the first post. It will remove some of the skins for better performance and less memory load.

I've finished adding quite a lot of ruler flavor events. I'm going to test them some, then if I'm satisfied I will post an update. I believe this update should be 100% compatible savegames wise.

It adds a lot of flavor events. Should be 100% compatible with 0.1b2 savegames.

Did you have a look at the Norse mod? I really think it would go nicely with this one even better if integrated of course:laugh:

I've asked its maker permission to integrate it /or parts of it. So far I have yet to receive an answer.

Nope, I don't think it does... I could be blind though! :D Spending too much time looking at Lux Invicta files damaged my eyesight for sure. :ninja: In any case if I receive a positive answer I will look into integrating what I find useful... meantime I will most likely add more events tomorrow - generic ones -> I'm first filling up on stuff that's good for everyone before going into cultural events.

Ok, time to go to bed. Any feedback is appreciated. Hopefully tomorrow I will continue my events revamp... If you have any ideas about performance optimization please tell me. I want to speed up the mod if possible. (note that events are still unrefined, yet they work and make the game more fun - I had a test game with Iceland just sitting in my map corner building things and looking at what the AI was doing elsewhere and I found it pretty fun)

First of all, this is amazing. The surreal feeling which washed over me as I began to unify the Eastern Empire was amazing to the point I squeed in joy once I put the queen of Bulgaria in the oubilette :D

Thanks guys, hopefully with tonight's update it will get better. If all goes well I will be adding more events, and maybe I'll get off my behind and redo the building prereqs a bit more - after consolidating them because of building lag I cut out the prereqs and made it very simplistic hehe.

Sadly I've asked the creator for integration for a couple of days now, and I have yet to receive an answer... if I get an answer I will definitely look into integrating what would fit this mod.

Thanks mate! Yah the amount of time spent on this mod has been....errr by Apollo's hidden secondary sunray..............titanically hugetastic. :D My buildings file alone has over 34500 lines of code. :blink: I don't even want to count that far. :rofl:

I've been adding flavor ruler life events since I woke up... Sleep is the province of non-moders. ;) Given that adding flavor events is my theme for the day, any suggestions on that area would be appreciated! I want to make a ruler's life ever more interesting.

I admire your mod, game play and immersion at the best. The work of a genius!

Now what I suggest for ruler events, considering the specific flavor of the mod, is more events related to the flourishing of many religious thoughts of school and heresies. Surely in this reality, rulers must be trying to codify new religious synthesis, get into new heresies, have to deal with more courtiers secretly believing in the non-orthodox version of the state religion, deal with ulema / priests making unorthodox innovations, with mystic communities dwelling in the outskirts of the empires and threatenings stability or, in the contrary, providing soldiers of the faith... etc.

Hope that helps your creative process...

Just had an awesome game with the ptolomeic dynasty, what i like most about the mod is the almost infinate number of quirky dynasties.

Religious events are on my to do list for the future... given time I also plan to make this mod teach people something about the many heresies and religions present in the mod... right now I'm guessing few people even know why Goths have a thing for Antinomianism :D.

All of the hundreds of new dynasties have thought put into them. From the Slavic Saburids of Badajoz, to the Afranius dynasty of Ilerda, from the Decebalids to the Ashina...

If you don't know what your dinasty is about google it or the founder(although in some cases you might need books) - no dinasty is implemented without a reason, all of them have an interesting story or descent claim.

I hope this doesen't sound too rude but I noticed youve done pretty bad mistake with finnish titels, f.ex Duchy of Finland is Suomen Herttuakunta, not Herttuakunnan Suomi (Finland of Duchy) and county of Kemi is Kemin maakunta (or "Kreivikunta", if you want to keep the "county" part of the titel)

The Finnish titles are part of the Culture Specific Titles mod by Amauri I implemented in 0.1b. I speak no Finnish so I got no idea if those titles were correct or not. There are limited things you can do with localisation I think - at most I can make it Herttuakunta _of?_ Suomi and Kreivikunta _of?_ Kemi...
