I hate to do this, but I think this post has gone unseen, and it's quite an important matter, especially since Shay spent so much time trying to make the mod run smooth and all those new features, cool as they might be, are ruining the flow of the game.

I'm noticing something that's beginning to concern me.

Before the latest updates, I could play with almost no lag or performance problems of any kind. Now it's not the same. A lot of people complained before of this game's performance problems, which Shaytana worked greatly to minimize, and with great success. But the addition of features like the Viking pack and the likes, it's starting to be very heavy. Really heavy. I'm in 1200 and the game's almost unplayable, which is a shame.

So to all of you that say "let's bring CKPlus features on board", I'd say wait. WAIT!

If there were people complaining of performance before the latest updates, these people probably cannot play the mod now. I'm on the verge of not being able to do it.

So I'd say: either optimise the mod, or start developing two lines: a heavy one, with all your improvements and additions from Plus and other mods, and a light one, which comprises Shaytana's mod updated, either his clean version, or up until before the great addition of features (I say the Ting and the like because I don't remember which other implementations were done at the same time).

****

And the Russian Portraits pack still doesn't work. I did as you said, but the headgear and clothing is still misplaced, as if the numbers didn't match the frames.

Sorry for quoting myself (that's what I hate, like I said before), but I see people are proposing more and more features, and I fear that in the next update I won't be able to play Lux Invicta anymore.

Could you be a bit more specific about what features are the biggest problems ATM?

A know the Building list expansion slowed the game up quite a bit, i'm not sure what we can do about that though without gutting it.

Not making any more dynasty histories might also help, less characters helps performance.

Indeed, that might help. They were not so necessary anyway, it had its charm that at gamestart no one had sons or parents xD

I can't be specific because I don't know. There's a huge leap between the version that appeared when Shaytana last showed up and the last version in which I did not play, and during this leap, additions have made the mod quite heavy.

My guess is that new post-Shaytana buldings and the Ting for different Germanic peoples are the main causes for this, but I cannot be sure.

***

By the way, today my savegames crashed, none works. Has there been a patch update I'm not aware of?

It's not an opinion. If you keep adding in more stuff, then the game will slow down. If it slows down to a point where it's unplayable, then it is a serious problem that needs to be looked at.

Hello everyone ! :)
I have read all the history made by Shaytana ( yes I had a lot of time to waste x) ) and I had a question about China and India : what is is the situation at the beginning of the game ( because after 200CE I think there is nothing about these countries )
Is China still divided in 3 Hellenic states ?
India united ?
And is there an "horde" of Hellens who appears in the game like the Mongols to recreate Arche Makedonia to the Atlantic (okay this last one is a bit strange I agree x) )

That last one was an actual idea before Shaytana's disappearance.

To my knowledge, you're the only one who has been having these slowdowns, though I agree that making a separate version that has fewer features for people who have memory issues is a good idea.

It was Cesar who's having the problem. I was just replying to what I thought was an unnecessarily rude post.

I'm not, there has been some people complaining of this very thing a lot of posts ago. So much, actually, that I made a post saying I was surprised to see so many people claiming lag problems, when my old machine allowed me to play as if it was Vanilla, that's how smooth it run before.

But now some features have been added and it's just fair that it slows down.

Selfish? Not at all, I would not say this was a thing if there wasn't more people with the problem.

Only he is complaining... That's egoistic and an opinion. I know that too much stuff would make the game unplayable, but it isn't right now

I saw that the thread had a new post, so I (thought) I clicked on the 297th page - I freaked the fuck out when I saw Shaytana... on page 3 =[

I expect some flak for this one, as I'm sure it's a common question, I just wasn't able to find anything on it.

I like the fragmentation of this mod and the new traits are cool but I'm completely stumped on something. When I go to war with somebody, it seems like they always have like 2k-3k guys even if they're a 1 county nation. I'm all for a good fight, but when I raise my army it's like... 600-700 men. I assume this has something to do with that extra vassal I seem to have (it seems to be a vassal in charge of your military/companions, what have you). He never seems to provide me any troops, but my enemies corresponding vassal seems to always provide like 1500 men. What gives. Is there an explanation of this vassal somewhere? Is that even the cause of my problem?

It sounds like he's a mercenary. Therefore you have to find his mercenary company and raise it like you would any other mercenary.
