Going to post the new list once I figure it out :)... Now where's my military history books? hehehehe.

OK NEW TRADITIONS LIST: Note that I made some compromises as a rule given I got to implement a load of building lines I bunched some together rather than add more buildings. This is about the maximum buildings I'm going to implement. (so for example,welsh and english were imperfectly bunched together - rather than give welsh a archers/light infantry tradition all of their own... as a rule I didn't want to have 1 tradition building line per culture - having too many buildings to implement = bad + the more buildings the more lag :p) This list while not perfect seems ok to me...any feedback?

Any feedback? Tell me if you think a particular culture should be under another group and why. I'm also thinking maybe go a bit off the rails and adding a couple more cultures to the underrepresented traditions such as archers...maybe put Nabateans there.
Well not all archers were from the British isles I am sure every culture had their version of archers.

Britons during the Arthurian age were heavy cavalry-oriented.

Nubians were heavily archer-based, they were famous for fending off Muslim invasions with their archery skills.

Nubians I put under light infantry/archers tradition because I didn't want to make an Archers/Light Infantry tradition. LI/ARCH kinda works as a compromise I think.

Brythons....hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. This is quite a bit in the future from Arthurian days... I'm unsure about it... I mean I could I guess put them under HCAV/HI tradition... sort of to reflect Roman heritage more I guess...can't make my mind up.

when the Normans conquered England they could do so mainly because they used cavalry where the Saxons had none.

Saxons are Heavy Infantry/ Archers spec.

Aye, but given a choice of putting them into HI/LC and HI/ARCH, I'm going with archers for now, I just think that fits everything better overall.

In fact all the cavalry the Romans used where mercs or from conquered provinces so there where not a lot of horses in Britain at the time. + the idea of the Knights in shining armour was really anachronistic as they first arrived well at the time this game starts at the earliest see the Norman conquest. And they where more like heavy infantry on horse than the Knights we see in the films they would not appear for at least a decade maybe two.

Yes I actually agree with you. That's why so far I'm keeping Brythons in their current category unless I can be convinced otherwise.

What do you mean?

Sry hard to express yourself properly on an iphone, on the first alpha version if i remeber correctly all nations had the same technology level, has this been changed? I noticed this when i could send a spy master to steal any tech because everyone was at the same level.

Do you plan to add any religious head for orthodox heretic sect such as coptic and nestorian patriach? I hope you can add them and make them landless like the pope of catholic church.

PS : do you know how can i make berber to use african unit sprite? Any help will be highly appreciated.

Tech levels are all at 0 because this mod does not end in 1453 (currently ends in 9999 -but the idea is it does not have an end date) and while I would love to add more tech levels atm I think we're stuck with 5, so having each culture research 5 levels is about as much as I can do. I sort of prefer the equal playing field on tech for now...the mod is sort of being balanced that way atm... although I could be convinced to give a lvl 1 tech advantage to some cultures, I just think that would most likely result in imbalance given the setup. Not sure yet really, I'll think on technology levels in the future - with the current system I'm implementing for instance you probably discover the technology before you get to build everything tied into it...there's so much stuff I'm adding.

I'm thinking of adding more religious heads in the future yes - far down on the priorities list atm. :)

On unit sprites... I believe you go to 00_cultures file (in common\cultures) and you add graphical_unit_culture = _nameofspriteculture_ under the graphical_culture = berbergfx line. I'm not sure what the tag is for that sprite most likely africangfx

Well anything people can contribute - stuff like events or graphics for example I'd be glad to implement if they make them and I can use them or adapt them to be used. I still hope Cesar de Quart will show up and tell me he has some religious icons to give me. :eek:o

On testing: I've noticed that in my current build the only nation that overperforms 100% is Sweden. Can anyone confirm Sweden is blobbing in their game? I'm getting the nerf bat ready...

On releasing something tonight: I will most likely not manage to release the update tonight...we'll see. In any case I'll be working on adding traditions till I go to bed, hopefully I will finish sooner than I expect to.
