I feel a better description of minarchism would be that the state exists only to protect property rights.

While I agree with this sentiment, I do plan to have the Minarchist State branch into either a Voluntaryist Society or a Syndicalist Confederation, so I want to give a more neutral description.

In addition, I've added the advanced government icons to the OP. I do, however, need to do another round and make sure that things are a bit more consistent.

So that Minarchism could also be interpreted as something like Rojava?

So that Minarchism could also be interpreted as something like Rojava?

That's a possible interpretation. Ideally, I'd like the government to represent a society where the autonomy of the individual was highly prized. The way that autonomy is reflected, either through voluntary institutions or mutual aid, would be more defined by the government that you branch into. In addition, I'm trying not to make Individualist/Collectivist correspond directly to Right-Wing/Left-Wing, although I do want to give people the opportunity to role-play such a divide.

Anyways, I've updated all the government icons, and have added tentative bonuses to most governments as well.

Okay, Phase 1, the link breaking, has been published. Please let me know if you find any bugs or balance issues, because I bet that they're going to crop up. The next step will be fixing AI personality selection, as I assume that there's going to be some silliness like Democratic Crusading autocracies.

Download added to the OP

I'll try to get it on Steam Workshop tonight.

EDIT: Was easier to upload to Steam than expected. Now on Steam Workshop!

I would propose to say the state exist only as a night watchman state. Or do I understand the concept wrong?
That is a form of it. Really, a better definition would be that the minarchist state serves only 'necessary' functions, although what necessary means is up for debate.

Brilliant! Thanks a lot for this. I will give it a try post haste! What do you think of the title "Delegate" for the mutualists? Premier sounds a bit too hierarchical IMO. Corporatists might benefit from being labelled as Confederationalists or the like.

Yeah. That's what I'm trying to get all.

Thanks.

I do plan on using Delegate as the leader name for the Syndicalist Confederation ( a branching adv. gov. for a later phase), but I would consider using a different name for the Mutualist Union. As for the Corporatists, it's a reference to social market economies and neo-corporatist ideas. That is, corporatism as a class truce for the good of society as a whole. Correct me if my political economy is off, but I think that it's a valid name.

Thanks.

Brillliant and well thought out. That sounds perfectly rational to me. I would love to see how creative you could get with other government forms!

Well then the problem is that Minarchy is a term only really used by right wing libertarians.

An idea that might work here is to take the idea I've seen elsewhere of turning individualist and collectivist into egalitarian and hierarchical respectively. That way you could create governments more linked to this scheme.

I've thought about that, or adding a Meritocratic - Egalitarian axis to complement the Individualist - Collectivist axis, but ultimately I think compatibility with other mods and balance probably over-weigh precise political economy. Rather, I'd like to leave enough room and give people enough policy/edict options that they can customize their policies and government to their liking.

Fair. Then I'd shift my point to corporatist democracy seems weird specifically just because it is a pretty specific economic philosophy for an idea that is broad, and I wonder if there's not a better term that could be used. (Communal Democracy, Council Democracy, something along those lines)

I am looking forward to Vanguard State though, it's really going to improve the quality of the Interstellar Bureau of the Comintern.

@TempusxX : You can ignore the warning, the files affected by LEGOS weren't modified by the 1.0.1 and 1.0.2 updates. It's just than the .mod used by the mod must not be updated yet (it would be easier if we could put 1.*.* instead of the exact number, but steam erase it and put the current version instead).
