What is it?
This map overhaul changes rivers and waterways in Europe, the Middle-east, and India. Adding 500 river tiles across 55 river systems, over 1600 ports for every settlement along rivers or coasts, and Don-Volga portage allowing for interconnectivity between the 3 largest ocean regions.

You should add some events for the Iron Gates. It was quiet impossible mostly to cross it except you have a lot of experience. :)
I think that province based events are beyond the scope of this mod right now. Besides the vikings did not seem to have any problems with it in CK2.;)
 
If only I browsed more mods before I updated to 1.2beta...
And I'm too lazy to revert back.
I'll wait for 1.2 version of the mod and make it a core mod.

1.2 Beta has not done any updates to the map yet, so this should work just fine with it.
 
If anyone is interested in trying out the new tributary terrain type before 1.3 releases I have included a download below.

I have remade the map and it seems to have fixed the consistent crashing on seemingly random dates.
One issue that may be seen is if a save that is using the previous version of the mod is loaded the ships on major rivers will be thrown to different river tiles.

Looks like that is part of a bigger issue effecting all of the mods on IR section Paradox Mods. I tried subscribing to mods in the CK3 and HOI4 sections of Paradox mods and those were successfully installed. Somebody might want to pass this bug along to the launcher/mod site team(s).

I used you mod the first time alongside Invictus, makes the map sooo much more enjoyable. Historic chokepoints become real obstacles, armies can be transported quick up/downstream, huge improvement to the base mod.

Some quirks are graphical nature. Occasionally roads will sink into rivers (north of Danubian knee, Euphratian desert. The tributary crossing graphic could be toned down IMHO, especially against green background it really stands out.

In any case - your work is much appreciated!

Working with the roads map is kind of a pain in the butt.
I don't mind if somebody want to make a submod that removes a bunch of those crossing points along the tributary terrain sections of major rivers or alters the roads map.
 
The major update is now live with INR - Invictus coming tomorrow.
