The Story so far...

Italia, Gallia, Hispania, Britannia, Germania Superior, Germania Inferior, Rhaetia, Pannonia, Dacia, Thrace, Illyria, Achaia, Asia, Syria, Iudea, Aegyptus, Lybia and Africa are successors of an IRL Roman Empire like state, and are seeking to reunite the Empire under their aegis. Some of them are puppets of others, some are allied, warring with each other and external threats. The area is designated to be a "divide and conquer" style gameplay, where players must outwit each other.

Brotherhood of the Sword: Once a criminal underground organization, it has risen in power to be able to hold vast territories as their vassals. Only a few years old, it has exceeded every expectation, and has taken large territories from falling Empires, or just received them as a gift for help. It is designated for players with agressive behavior, to extend their reach while nationalities are rising against them, since they don't have any cores.

The Golden Empire was one of the richest and oldest Empires of the world, but in the modern time, they are severly failing due to the lack of reformations. Most of the territories are consisting mineral rich mountains, but unable to utilize them. As they are struggling to stay alive from internal problems, younger nations are going after their rich territories. It was made as less violent, more diplomatic, and more internal political focused state.

The Natal Republic was taken from the image of IRL UK and USA, a capitalist, democratic republic which holds many colonies overseas, and one of the major players of the game. They control Panama, islands in the Americas and Pacific, as well as most of Africa. They take a democratic great power's position, this time with land connection with opposing states.

Bern Commune: A fully communist state just right at the border of the remnants of the yet nameless Empire. Somehow a representation of IRL Soviet Union, and Kaiserreich's agressive Soviet state. It tries to unite the European territores, and at the start of the scenario they are at war with Oslo Federation over Denmark, but even if they win or lose, they will undoubtly go into the "Empire's" internal politics...

Oslo Federation: As stated above, the original owners of "Denmark", and at war with the Commune. They are famous for the great naval power, and weak land forces. The federation is a chain of democratically elected leaders of merchant cities, where the centralized power is fading, getting more and more internal problems (communist coup d'états, dissent, beer ( :D ) ).

The Union of the Silver Sword: analogy of a Polish-Lithuanian union, the "Other Empire" of Europe, a rising centralised militaristic nation with strong army, and lots of industry. Will most likely move against the Remnants, joining the "divide and conquer" party for new territories to use.

Parthus Empire: As a Persian themed nation, it extends from India to Iraq, and is going to get more territories in Asia from those damned Europeans... It is one of the external reasons for the Empire to crumble, and will have war against the border provinces, who might join together, ask help from other "provinces" and nations, or just try to ride the storm...

Thanks for the last four nations for Ale!

i thought of some ideas for asia and one question pops in my mind

why only creating big countries? you could add some smaller countries too, maybe filling the wast lands of russia with small tribe-like countries (in my mind is the situation in germany after the dissolution of the HRE)
maybe not so many like in our time line (would be just too much work)
i have two ideas how these countries could be: 1. each country is more or less weak at the start, but they can unite all "tribes" and become a major power 2. each "tribe" is highly militarized and mediocre/strong from the start, but they don really like each other and will end in internal wars (so bordering countries could take advantage of this?)

Creation of big countries is a habit of me right now, but will stay. For now.

you could add some smaller countries too, maybe filling the wast lands of russia with small tribe-like countries (in my mind is the situation in germany after the dissolution of the HRE)

I think the Empire's successors are basically are the very same in that regard. Yet, there could be many nations, but I don't think a Unification war would be alright for such a close proximity. However, I still don't have things like civil wars, ideological wars and China like occupations.
