1933 start mod
or
combined mod that includes WW1 and WW2 (and all of the parts in between)- probably too complicated, but one can dream

Actually- I think I would want my Generals and on Map HQ's back

or

one including some of the best parts of Black Ice, DWI and TRP

Think about it. It doesn't just go from bright daylight to dark nightime in an instant. The sun sets and rises. Making it fade in and out a little more would make it more realistic, and potentially less distracting for those who complain about it.
I think it would be rather hard to simulate perfectly. For example during the summer in Finland the sun doesn't set at all and during autumn, early spring and winter the sun sets roughly in that hour interval in which the game clock runs and the weather (and the amount of snow during the winter) effects highly to amount of light. It would add so much simulation that it could make the game unplayable.. but the idea you threw is great

I see. Those are some good points. Although, it still would be less distracting to players, you can't deny that.

No I can't and I liked your idea. I just think it's very hard to implement.

My mod Idea:
An improvement mod:
. Some colonies should be turned into states (based on Darkest Hour): Dutch East Indies, British Raj (India), Rhodesia and Nyassaland, Indochina, Manchukuo (not a colony but well), Egypt, French mandate of Syria and Lebanon, Italian East Africa, Free City of Danzig (not a colony too, but good for gameplay reasons)
. more events for Persia, India, Manchukuo, Ethiopia, Yugoslavia and Greece, Dutch East Indies, Saudi Arabia, Southafrica and Siam (should have a possibility to get a better economy or army if not played by a computer)
. more ahistorical paths for all major countries (including both Chinas)
. Brazil, Australia, Canada, Argentina, Hungary, Bulgaria and Romania should have a bigger role in the game (that means, more events with ahistorical paths and better a start)
. The United Kingdom should have garrisons around it's coast from the start (simulated the difficulty to penetrate the british coastal defences
. Germany should have some event to get free divisions (from occupied provinces) and technologies
. USSR should get a paratrooper and glider tank path tree (to conquer the UK)
. in case oil can be stockpiled it should take less oil to produce tanks, planes, ships, etc but they should consume oil when in use
