I'm doing the counties and some provinces have come out nicely but some really aren't. Tricky areas include the mountains and places with lots of rivers. Some provinces are also divided up rather arbitrarily so we might have to come up with quite a few names when it comes to baronies and such.

Are we including the Chaos Wastes as a playable part of the map?

How would playing chaos work in a feudal state though?

Chaos is very tribal and violent in general. They would practice a tribal system similar to the pagans in game. This could easily be substituted for a feudal system in game as they are relatively similar.

There are 3 planned invasions so far. Chaos and orc invasions will be modeled by the Mongol system of invasions. We are planning on having it so that if the player forms a chaos empire before the invasions of chaos is set to occur it will stop it from happening. No real reason to have two everchosens of chaos on the field at the same time unless it happens by pure chance.

Also Kislev should have two cultures Gospodar in the south and Ungol in the north and west.

I so far have done the counties for Bretonnia, the Empire, Tilea, Estlia, Troll Country, and Kislev and can say now that there will need to be map revisions for the territories but that can probably be done on implementation.

Another question are we going to include on the map the Blighted Marshes? Or are they going to be the same as Athel Loren?

I like the general idea of a warhammer setting, but I have time seeing Chaos as coherent nation rather than a smatter of small counties or tribal areas.

It's why Im a bit sceptical towards it, however the rest like elves, empire, bretons etc etc should work fine

Chaos does not start as one coherent nation. They start as a bunch of disunited tribes worshiping different chaos gods or all four. The idea being that someone will eventually unite the north in the fashion of an everchosen and create a kingdom of chaos in the north. If that fails to happen an everchosen will come in anyways because during the timeline of the mod Asavar Kul leads an invasion of the Empire and Kislev.

For splitting up the world into de jure kingdoms I'm thinking the Dwarfs will start off with Karaz Ankor as an empire split into two kingdoms. The first kingdom will be Karak Ankor and consist of the World's Edge Mountains. The second kingdom will be Black Mountains, Grey Mountains and the Vaults. This kingdom I'm thinking of calling Undgrin Ankor. Both of these kingdom titles are working titles.

Dwarf nobility titles will go something like this:
Emperor= High King
King= King
Duke= Thane
Count= High Chief
Baron= Chief

King is really more analogous to duke in the Dwarven Empire so if anyone can come up with a more suitable title for the king rank that would be much appreciated. Also I do realize that Karak Ankor and Karaz Ankor are really synonymous and that Undgrin Ankor refers to the network of tunnels dug by the Dwarfs.

As a heads up we are still looking for people to contribute to this mod. Really in any way you can help would be great at this stage in the mod so if you want to help just leave a comment here on the threads.

Also I forgot to specifically mention in the Dwarf section that there is a third independent dwarf kingdom in Norsca that we are probably just going to call Drak Ankor or something like that.

Ok cool sent. More dwarf stuff. There are two dwarf holds on the map held by chaos dwarfs. We can probably just represent them by making them independent counts and making them followers of Hashut (Ancestor Gods heresy). The only problem is whether to consider them as one country or not (they are pretty far apart) just because of the way that chaos dwarfs are essentially one empire. That pretty much would cover all dwarf nations.

Next we should probably discuss how we implement the Norsca chaos factions. There are 7 Norse tribes so we could have 7 factions but I'm not entirely sure how united any of those tribes are. As for their religion we can just make them straight Chaos or we could through in some other faiths as they worship other deities as well. For instance maybe we don't all 7 factions practicing a Chaos faith. However, there are 5 Chaos faiths and the other gods they do worship tend to simply either dark reflections of the Old Faith deities or heroes among their people kind of like Sigmar. The other option is to highly fragment Norsca in either terms of factions or religion or both. I've only found on thing indicating areas where the various Chaos Gods have hold. So we can essentially assign religion wherever unless we feel like being faithful to it (I'm not sure how accurate it is and it only refers to a single temple dedicated to each god in Norsca).

Finally with how we are going to implement religion figured out for the most part I would like to know if we should maybe reflect the strong following of Ulric in the northern Empire. We could make it its own full faith with the Ar-Ulric as the head of faith as he is. They shouldn't be allowed to engage in holy wars with the Old Faiths and would be concentrated in and around Middenheim and Middenland. Anyways just a thought.

I just found this: During the Age of Two Emperors, the High Priest of Ulric, Bardolph, took side with the self-annointed Emperess Ottilia of Talabecland by announcing that Sigmar had been no god and the Sigmarites were therefore heretics. The socalled "Sigmarite Heresy" and the banishing of the Sigmarite Cult in Talabecland and Middenland threw the Empire into a series of civil wars that would last for many generations that only got more heated with the coronation of the socalled "Emperor of the Wolf", the third contestant for the throne. This period of Anarchy would only find its end after the Great War against Chaos and the coronation of Magnus the Pious as Emperor.

Source: http://warhammeronline.wikia.com/wiki/Ulric

Anyways that essentially states that not only should we have it but it should be a heresy of the church of Sigmar (or vice versa). It could make for a really interesting time playing as an Empire faction what with vampires, religious strife and a struggle for the crown all going on at once.

I think the only real religious thing left to address is whether or not the Vampires of Sylvania and Strigos should have their own separate religion and if not what religious group they should be in. In the mod Call of Warhammer for Medieval Total War they did have their own religion the Vampire Cult. However, it would be more accurate to call it a Blood Cult with the lore. In Lahmia vampires were worshiped as gods by the people. In Strigos which has its own religious questions as far as I know they worshiped Alcadizzar who slew Nagash.

Now I haven't found anywhere in the lore to suggest that Sylvania ever had a Blood Cult. That doesn't necessarily stop Vlad von Carstein establishing his own "deathless court" worshiped by the people however. There is also the question of what religion the kingdom of Strigos would worship if we make Ushoran and his people an emerging faction. The easy solution to these would be to say that Strigos worships the "Old Faiths" but I'm not sure that the vampires of Sylvania would necessarily worship Sigmar. So thoughts?

The people of Sylvania were definitely Sigmarites, maybe specifically of the Cult of Moor. However; in the Vampire trilogy I felt that the von Carsteins had little if any religious ties or allegiances. Atheists cross my mind, but I felt it wasn't the rejection of a higher power as the belief that they were that higher power.

Well I've been doing some snooping around and found this: " By the order of the Count, all the Temples of Sigmar in Sylvania". So the people of Sylvania certainly were not worshiping Sigmar by Vlad's orders. I feel that since his armies consisted of both humans and the undead as shown by his famous line "You can serve me in life, or slave for me in death" that they would have some degree of reverence for their dark master. On top of that assuming that Vlad himself was a member of Neferata's deathless court he would have been used to being worshiped as a god. Finally if he is successful in his ambition of conquering the Empire that would make him like Sigmar himself. I think it would be best to have a Vampire/Blood Cult in Sylvania with Vlad von Carstein installed as the head of faith.

Sounds best, but only for the courtiers. The people themselves (the lay and the commoners) (ie the province religion), should remain Sigmarite. But the province will get a modifier to effectively delete the difference in religion minuses as well as give some other Vampiric bonuses.

Still waiting to hear about some way to create immortal characters.
