Are we going to represent the different bloodlines of vampires in game? The von Carsteins of course are in the game but or we going to include the others? I was thinking that the Blood Vampires could either be mercenaries/holy order for Sylvania but we could also represent them on the map at Blood Keep (the lore is lacking on when exactly it was destroyed). Also if we plan on doing an event surrounding Ushoran such as him invading the Empire (maybe something like a 25% chance of that happening every game) then we may as well as include the Strigois as well. They would be different under Ushoran than they are in the tabletop game however. Finally if we include all of those we could also include the Sartosan line of vampire pirates as well.

I was thinking of making the various bloodlines as just traits that give different modifiers and stat bonuses and such.

I also found a goblin invasion from the Darklands in the lore during our time frame. Grom the Paunch invaded the Empire in 2410 IC with a massive WAAAAAGH! So we can include that into the game too.

Thoughts?

For the bloodlines, I would include them all. The Lahmia would make good courtiers and diplomats for evil rulers of the human realms, and even for the von Carnsteins. They should have a ridiculous diplo score, but cost a lot of money to attract. Hiring them comes with a lot of bonuses, but their upkeep would be very high (have to keep covering up dead bodies) and if not properly reigned in they might kill nobles and then you are in hot water. I like that idea about the Blood Knights. I would not make them unique to Sylvania, just make them extremely expensive, but very potent. Just like the Lahmia. The Nerciarchs can be left out, maybe just the passing event of a mad wizard who needs to be killed.

Along the lines of the map, I'll send you an outline map so that you can start with provinces tonight after work.

While playing vampires and dwarves could be awesome, just a working simulation of the human kingdoms would be a fantastic starting point and, I would think, much easier. I would love to help with this project, but I have no modding or coding experience.

Sure, we could also include the necrarchs in events, maybe specifically for other vampires as they are kind of obvious looking, and they can have extremely high learning. Also I see a problem with having Strigoi already. The strigoi weren't monsters originally so any new kingdom created by Ushoran would probably have two versions of Strigoi in it. We can discuss that later however.

Awesome can't wait to get started on the map.

Iron00 you can help with research and event/trait ideas. Vampires and dwarfs will probably be originally implemented as humans until we can find workarounds. What is your skype?

One of two things to make large WAAAAAGHs.
There is going to be a base wagh event spawning orcs like the mongol does.
The event has a chance to trigger it self again
or there is multiple events each with a different size

I've been thinking that we should split up the map into these 10 regions to get the ~1000 provinces:
Norsca West
Norsca East
Kislev + Troll Country
Empire North
Empire South
Bretonnia
Estalia
Tilea
Border Princes + Badlands + Marshes of Madness
Worlds Edge Mountains + Darklands

What do you guys think?

Is each region going to get around 100 provinces each if so then that classification is going to be bad.

As in norsca is very mountainous so there provences will be large. kislev is not as fertile so larger there.
Itlea and estalia have very small sizes when you remove mountains.

I think divideing up dukedoms is a better way.
The amount of dukedoms for the empire would be 14. one for each state of lost state.
bretonnia would have 14 one for each dukedom.
7 for Estalia. according to the nice map i found
7 for Tilea. again looking onto the map
7 for norsca hard to tell but we could divide it into 7 parts
7 for border princes and badlands. looks like a good amount
5 for kislev.
1-2 for the wasteland
7 for the darklands, worlds edge, chaos wastes. everything else is 7 so why not

We would then weight kingdoms based fertility, amount of chaos, size, and general land type.

Right now I'm just drawing on the duchies. I have 14 for the Empire and 15 for Bretonnia depending on who the Pale Sisters will belong to (probably orcs actually). Once I'm done with the duchies i will consider how many counties to put on the map once again. At the current size of duchies we're going to have duchies with like 10+ counties in them. So we will have to either break up the duchies more or reduce the amount of counties. Right now I think the best option is probably to reduce the amount of counties with the possibility of breaking up the duchies after that.

Right now:
Bretonnia 15 duchies
Empire 14 duchies
Norsca 14 duchies
Estalia 10 duchies
Tilea 9 duchies
Border Princes 6 duchies
Kislev + Troll country 6 duchies
World's Edge Mountains 6 duchies
Badlands 4 duchies
Darklands 3 duchies
Total: ~87 duchies O_O

I shared the final map on Skype so check it out. There are also some regions that aren't really in any particular region like the Vaults.

I don't want to do this whatsoever, however, I have found maps of Norsca that are less mountainous that have plains and valleys throughout the interior that may better represent Norsca and make it easier to actually play there. I'll include a specific map here. Thoughts? If you don't want to redo the map of Norsca I already have the duchies drawn up for the current map of Norsca so yeah.

http://www.gitzmansgallery.com/Warhammer_Maps/Docs/Map Norsca 6.jpg

Also with giving the dwarfs there own religion with its own heresy of Hashut it reopens the possibility to have Chaos Dwarfs in the game just through heresy. I have since also found Chaos Dwarf strongholds within Norsca itself so we may as well as include some playable Chaos Dwarfs in the mod.

We could think of more form able dukedoms. I can only think of a few we can have. All of the boarder princes, and a bretonnian one in the wasteland.

you may be forgetting the wasteland so we will be looking at a max of 90 duchies.

Next step would be to decide on how large we want the oceans to be in provences. there is around 200 in original and we have far less water then the original so around 100.

So with 1000 provinces left and only 90 duchies to give them to dukedoms are going to get large. In the original serbia a kingdom has only 7 counties. We are going to need to nerf somethings.

Also me and zakzak have been talking and there is a way to have Sigmar be its own faith and still have the other more bland Old Faith followers all convert to the same heresy. We would have to rig it that anyone who converted to a heresy of any of these faiths automatically convert to a Chaos faith. This way we could make the four Chaos gods each be a heresy of the main branch of Chaos Undivided. It could be buggy as zakzak said but it is a possibility. It would allow us to have a head of faith for the Empire and Bretonnia (Grand Theogonist and Fey Enchantress respectively). It would also allow the possibility of a head of faith for Chaos Undivided by making it its own faith. It could be made like the Shia and Sunni Caliphates and simply have the local emperor be the head of faith. The problem here is I don't think you could set it up so that an emergent emperor can become the head of a faith. But yeah that's my rant on religions.

Could have an event or decision give them the Religious Head title, which is essentially equivalent to a decision that would give someone the Papacy or Shia/Sunni Caliphate.

Also, I like this idea. :D

For Bretonnia will it different knight traits, depend on there age and such. For example they first become errent knight finish to become knight realm, and thenonce become lord they go grail quest and become questing knight, and finish final become a grail knight. As well King heir can not inherit throne unless become grail knight. For example if current grail knight he recvices negative hit of 30 from vassal, unless he questing for the grail.

Sure we can certainly have a series of events or ambitions or something to simulate the grail quest in Bretonnia as well as have a modifier in place if the king is not a grail knight. Also I was thinking that the moral authority in Bretonnia could be decreased instead of by making an anti-pope but by having finding a Fake Grail like what happened in Mousillon.

The fey enchantress will be to hard to do properly. Her role can be confined to events.
The king would not be crowned if he was not a grail knight. Event for the king if he is not a grail knight could have a 50% of getting it or death. We could increase the chance of the kings son getting the events so this happens less. This will cause a kings dynasty to change a lot.

A knight errant modifier would have little use because the only difference between a knight errant and a knight of the realm is land. But if do make a separate education quest line for bretonnians to give them only military traits we could add a errant modifier to it.
I think we could confine the progress of your quest to modifiers. Traits would help the event but not needed to complete it. This would reducing trait clutter.
The grail quest would use events, decisions, battle events, and ambitions. Ambitions would increase the chance of events and unlock some events and decisions, decisions being risky, battle events and events being the main part. Progress would best be tracked with modifiers, prestige, and piety. Traits not being required but help it.

Well anyways do you guys feel like the duchies should be huge and have 7+ counties on average or be tiny like they are in vanilla? I'm about to start doing the counties map and i want a general idea of how large the counties should be.

Capitalist have you looked at the duchy map yet? Also what is your view on implementing the religious features stated above?
No. Been busy.

Fit them with that one map we used. Don't worry about how big they are in CK or EU, just make them the right size.

remember that new dukedom i suggested is the south part of the wastland and marches of couronne. the western boarder is the pale sisters. The south part of the wasteland is the area between modern bretonnia and modern reikeland.
