I. What is this Mod?
CK2 is a game for European feudal lords, however I think it is not a bad idea to add some events about the rise of cities in the High and Late Middle Ages. The Hanseatic League of German merchants might be a good target for such improvements, since it was one of the important factions in Northern Europe. This feature leads the player into more variable game play after 1200.
II. Version
The current version is 0.6 (compatible with ver.1.05)

III. Main Features
To represent their activity, I am planning following features.
1. Historical Event Chain of the Establishment of the Hanseatic League - Done
a. An event "the coalition of German merchants" happens after ca. 1200 in a province in Northern Germany.

b. After a, an event "German merchants expand their influence" happens in many provinces of Northern Europe.
c. ca. 10-20 provinces with b event trigger an event "the Establishment of the Hanseatic League".
d. This c event leads more events in feature 2-.
2. Decision "organize a general meeting of the Hanseatic League"
This decision brings the player some options to get military or economy bonus.
3. Collaboration and Conflict with the Hanseatic League - Partially Done
Accepting German hanseatic merchants brings feudal lords huge economic benefits. Owning hanseatic cities guarantees them also events which make a boom of products from their domains. On the other hand, there might be also negative aspects of the League. The foreign merchants will be the cause of conflicts between them and domestic small merchants. Aggressive policies against the Hanseatic League leads to their sanctions such as a blockade. Also the feudal lords owning member cities in Germany will be involved into internal discussions of the League. This mod represents these historical events!
4. Representation of the Trade in North Europe - Done
This mod includes events about some important trade goods by the Hanseatic Merchants. Also events about the relationship with the kontors in Novgorod, Bergen, Brugge and London are added.
5. Decision to create Hanseatic League (title in-game) -Done
Historically the Hanseatic League had no general laws for them, and didn't build a republic like Venice or Genoa, but in this mod you can create a reorganized League under your control. I let this country be a titular feudal kingdom to keep it as playable.
6. Trade Sphere
The Dutch merchants rise after the 13th century and their cities will develop as rival of the Hanseatic League. There are also struggles for economic dominance between the different commercial groups, f.e. British or Scandinavian commercial areas in northern Europe.
If I have finished the mechanic with the Hanseatic League, I will touch other city alliances f.e. the city leagues of Rhineland, Lombard, or Schwaben.
IV. Region
Here is the map which this mod handles. The provinces within the red line are the main field for the member cities.The provinces between the red and white line are also the area where some events with the Hanseatic League would happen. (I have ignored some merchant houses at the Atlantic ocean.)
