Version 1.12 is now available via Steam and Direct Download. Version 1.13 is tentatively slated for the 23rd of November but that may be adjusted if Paradox announces the release date for Livy in the interim.

This release included much-requested changes to make army sizes more realistic as well as fixed the too-frequent emptying of settled provinces (which was happening even in places like Greece and Mesopotamia).

Don't you find the provinces getting depopulated too often? And you basically have to build a city next to it afterwards after conquering the region to be able to colonize it again, because citizens rarely remain in non-city provinces

This is what I'm wondering. Why does colonization require a citizen in a neighboring province? It makes colonization virtually impossible for the countries that should be colonizing.

This latest update just addressed these issues by adjusting base pop desired ratios . . .

At the moment, each city in a province provides an extra trade route for the province and the first metropolis provides an additional one (but no subsequent metropolis do).

I think empty provinces are the result of AI selling all the slaves. I changed it so that one can only sell slaves from wrong culture group, and so far so good...no empty provinces

Ah, good call, I sometimes forget AI will just press any button you give it. I should probably check around as there's likely other places it's doing that.

Dear Rivtaldm,

I am playing a lengthy Seleucid campaign and having a ton of fun, thank you!

I think that the current system for expanding ports would also work well for fortifications. It does not seem reasonable that they require a building slot.
1. It would be nice to create fortresses in settlements, maybe a max level 3 (but with a relevant upkeep cost or other downside, to provide a soft limit and force the player to build them in key locations. I do not like to be forced to establish a city in the mountains just to expand the fortifications.
2. Also in cities, expanding the fortifications should come with some positive and maybe some negative effects.

Just my two cents, maybe most people are happy with the current system.

Waiting till this is compatible with 1.3 to even open Imperator. Keep up the good work!

I should have it ready in the next couple of days (tentatively by the end of the day Thursday); it's taking a bit longer than I wanted because I used the opportunity of save-games breaking to make some map changes that aren't quite as ready as I wanted plus reconciling the two mission systems is taking some time.

Are you going to be incorporating missions like those into your updated version?

The first release for this version will probably not fully implement their missions or possibly only for Rome and Carthage. Then I’ll do a full conversion in the subsequent release.

Vanilla gets crazy by the end of the game, because all those regional powers that don't really fight too much lategame; may have 20k gold by the time you meet them. That means that once you declare war on that bunch of regionals who are allied together, they will buy all the mercs on the map. And that repeats in every war. There's nowhere to dump money, neither you're punished for hoarding it. So if anything, that needs a solution

I haven't eagerly awaited the release of a new mod version in a long time.

Glad people are as eager for the next version as I am to release it; unfortunately until the localization problem for mods is fixed a mod like this that uses so much unique localization is basically unplayable so hopefully they will fix that soon.

Vanilla gets crazy by the end of the game, because all those regional powers that don't really fight too much lategame; may have 20k gold by the time you meet them. That means that once you declare war on that bunch of regionals who are allied together, they will buy all the mercs on the map. And that repeats in every war. There's nowhere to dump money, neither you're punished for hoarding it. So if anything, that needs a solution

I will see what can be done about this; there's some other late game problems like population balances that I want to address coming up.
