I remember reading a discussion in the Warhammer.Empire website about the real status of Marienburg before it was purchased/lost by Dieter IV or Boris Goldgather (the fluff is inconsistent here, since in the very same edition of the Empire army book and the 6th Ed Reglament they say Marienburg bought its independence from these two emperors). The question was: If Empress Magritta was the Electoress of Marienburg, when did Marienburg become an Electorate? Twelve tribes, twelve runefangs, in this scheme, neither Drakwald nor Sylvania or Marienburg do fit the mold.
It's probably a fluff mistake that has been gaining inertia just because it was Magritta of Marienburg since time immemorial. But people trying to rationalise it (and with way too much free time) were discussing, in very passionate terms, whether Marienburg was the old capital of Nordland or of Drakwald. Either Marienburg bought its independence from Nordland under Boris and then its total independence from the Empire under Dieter IV, or it was capital of Drakwald and became just Marienburg after Drakwald was destroyed... people were calling names to each other, I would have liked to jump into the discussion to say "Warhammer fluff is not history, sometimes it doesn't make sense" and calm them down, but it was 5 years too late, and I was reading the discussion while going to work on the bus. Anyway, that's what I gathered.
My point being: how does it all work in the mod's system of de jure titles?
