Yep :)

I'm also having trouble with getting generic province/realm plots to work, since as far as I can see, most plots revolve around a person or a title, but there are no province scopes.

I may have to use these via the cultist decision menu then, and have the success factor be based on the person's intrigue skill.

The first skill of a successful hidden cultist after all, should be intrigue :p

I noticed that the Fimir aren't mentioned in this thread.
GW released a few miniatures of them a few years back.

As I pondered how such an elusive race could be (if it would be) implemented in a mod such as this, I thought about something:
The Fimir aren't the only sentient species that do not appear to hold sizeable holdings on the surface of the Warhammer world.
There are also the Beastmen, Skaven, and the Zoat.

Maybe these species could 'invade' by event. After certain negative modifiers have been activated in a county, there could be a growing chance of small invasions from within the county. Something along the lines of: 'The ongoing famine in our province has made the population weak. A large band of Beastmen has taken advantage of our weakness by assaulting our county capital!'.

These events could also be bound to certain types of terrain in the province. Fimir are amphibious and could appear in marshlands. Beastmen and Zoat prefer heavily forrested areas. Skaven could pop up everywhere thanks to their Under Empire.

Of course I realise that stuff like this isn't exactly top priority, I just thought I'd share my idea.

Maybe have it target the capitol province of a character? Ir if you didn't want't it to be that exact, you could do random demesne province.

There are plans for Beastmen. We've discussed Skaven, but haven't picked the best method yet. Not really worth it do to Fimir or Zoats, IMHO.

.

Good point, that might work. Target a character that has landed titles, and then the negative effects target his demesne :)

Yeah, the chaos gods aren't inherently evil. They are just a reflection of humanity.

Khorne is the god Honor and Pride
Tzeentch is the god of Hope and self Improvement
Slaanesh is the god of Love and Beauty
Nurgle is the god of Compassion and Mercy

Gods of it, in the sense that they have corrupted or brought to the extreme these characteristics? I quite agree.

I think we all went more depth and more RP choices, but I'm unfortunately again going to have to lower expectations a little bit for the first version of the cultist system at least :)

An event has a maximum of 240 characters of text (or thereabouts) and even one simple interaction such as

1- You are away or cut off crom your usual circle of "cronies and degenerates", and you actively seek other lovers of lust around.

is at least 3-5 events.

1) You get cut off
You have option A Leading to event 2
You have option B Leading to event 3

2)You get event 2
You have option A leading to event 4
You have option B Leading to event 5

So based on 1 event with 2 branching choices leading to two branching choices, we now have 5 events already for just one possibility.

For four such Slaanesh possibilites, we have 20 events to code then, and it turns into 80 events total if we do it for Khorne, Nurgle, and Tzeentch also.

It's not that it can't be done, but I think it's more important to have a basic less-than-perfectly-subtle system in place first which can be completed on a realistic time frame rather than (at this stage in our mod) focusing too many modding-hours on just one aspect of the mod when there are many other events that need to be completed as well.

Yes, I know, but I suggest stuff, so that we can either use it now or inspire later. First, the basics, of course.

I need 2 Tzeetch specific new plots. How do Tzeentch cultists specifically plot to serve Chaos, without making too complicated of an event chain (on the lines of nurgle cultists infect province with disease, or Khorne cultists create a beastman invasion)?

How about a plot to "gift" a claim to another character ? This would deteriorate vassal/liege relations and lead to potential rebellion. The plot could also have a chance to give the ambitious trait to the target to spice things up.

Yeah, Tzeentchian cultists granting claims wouldn't be too odd. The only issue is a general one for cultists, that is that none of these plots should be dead give away there is a cultist in your court/realm. Seeing some events or so,e events more often should maybe make you suspicious, but it should never be a 100% sure thing.

Plot discoveries could be a little more in depth as well, rather than the current "My liege, I have discovered a plot where x is intending to impregnate you with a pineapple." I'm not sure if anything can be done about it but automatically firing off a request to end a plot shouldn't be possible either; rather, the plotters should be imprisoned once enough evidence has been collected (hidden flag?) or caught in the act before anything can be done about it.

Well, like Blood Royal mentioned in the dev diary, I think the best method would to change all plots so on discovery they say something like "My liege, I have discovered that x is engaged in a secret plot against y." I think this will help a lot. As for having a more complex interaction with plot, we will have to see.

Thanks for spoiling the super-special-secret Slaanesh plot. >:|

I think he may be in the wrong fictional universe (see Prequel Adventures). ;)

Im asking this for the third time now. Are you planning to implement Events for a Follower of Chaos to become a Champion? Like traveling into the Chaos waste to gather support from the Barbarians or find artefacts. Maybe an Event chain about meeting the Skaven and sell them warpstone that you brought frome the Chaos lands for Gold or some of there weapons.

Also are you planning to add Chaos Invasions? Like if a Character manages to unite the northern tribes and becomes a Champion of Chaos and meets other conditions he can unleash a Black Crusade (i know the name is from 40K but it is fitting) against Kislev and the Empire. And if the Ai does it there could be Events announcing it like greater Beastmen activity, Chaos cults growing and getting agressiv, signs of Nature, sudden Mutations of children and animals and such stuff.

Regarding an earlier question, yes there will be chaos invasion that will occur. There will rather normal sized ones that are more common and then the great invasion lead by an Everchosen. we want the smaller invasions to be somewhat regular, as the Empire had no less than 5 major chaos invasion from 2502 to 2520, which works out to be about one every three and half years.

Already answered you. ;)

As for cultists becoming champions, maybe. There will for sure be way for a cultist to reveal themselves which will probably start a war. Right now I'm leaning towards no cultist champions. If you want to be champion, you need to prove yourself by declaring your devotion to the Ruinous Powers openly.

Sorry didnt see your previous answer. As for champions i ment open Chaos Followers but also characters from Chaos tribes. Being a Champion could attract warriors from other tribes and encourage other leaders to swear fealty to you if they worship the same Chaos god.

Also this brings me to another Question: Are there four Chaos faiths in one group that become Chaos Undivided if the Everchoosen arises or is it like the Indian religions in Vanilla with traits representing the sect you follow? Dont know if thats already answered but im relativly new to this thread and havent seen a post about it.

Decision for high piety+balanced, followers of undivided "Declare Self Champions". Of course an event chain that can cause it to end......badly for the declarer.

Yeah, there will be ways for the Kurgan, Hung, Norscans, et al. to become a chaos champion. I believe right now there are 5 different faiths the chaos group, along with a few heresies (Malal, and few others). However we may want to change that so we can get better tuning for opinion modifiers (e.g. Followers of nurgle hate Tzeentchians more than they hate the followers of Khorne or Slaanesh, undivided gets along ok with everyone, etc.)

Decision for high piety+balanced, followers of undivided "Declare Self Champions". Of course an event chain that can cause it to end......badly for the declarer.

One thing we need to figure out is if champions will be separate from those bearing marks. Declaring yourself champion seems ok, giving your self a mark of chaos does not.

Figured the mark of chaos would be through the event chain, either the gods support you or..........well you can probably think of all the !FUN! they can do to someone that claiming to champion that they don't like..
