I know this is VERY premature, but I think this could be an interesting module.
For Want of a Nail: If Burgoyne had Won at Saratoga by Robert Sobel is a classic work of alternate history. It is a detailed history of North America in the 200 years following the failure of the American Rebellion.

I don't necessarily agree with all of Sobel's conjectures, but he presents an interesting alternate history model, which I think would make for an interesting module. Even if Sobel isn't as widely known as Harry Turtledove, his book has been widely read and is still in publication after almost 30 years, so I'd think there would be a fair amount of interest in such a project. Since I lack the programming expertise to do this myself, I'm hoping someone here will be inspired.
