Just a little heads up, it seems I forgot to remove the max_wives line from the Orsimer in the elder scrolls mod and Amauri noticed recently, since 1.07b, our Orcs have been sporting multiple wives. So it seems max_wives works again. If this was in the patch notes and I missed it, my bad, otherwise it's a nice little tidbit to know for others :)

Screen or it didn't happen!

Awesome, I was just thinking the other day that the Elder Scrolls would be a great setting for a mod.

I may be off timeline wise on my lore, but is this set during the period of Ayleid dominance? If so, do you have any plans on representing their mastery of Oblivion Gates?

I believe that the mod takes place hundreds of years after the last reported sighting of the Ayleids, and thousands of years after their decline as a major power.

Is it me or do the orcs look a bit elvish? Also do you plan on incorporating werewolves, werebears, and wereboars into this mod?

Actually, we already have some events done for werewolves. As for werebears, I doubt they are going to be in the mod. There's simply too little we know about them and they haven't made an appearance in any of the games.

bookmark. Cant wait to play!

edit: will this be set back early enough to involve the Dwemer, and the fall of the white elves?

Since they're called Orsimer anthat they look like elves, I'm guessing that they aren't orcs yet.

I haven't actually finished Orsimer portraits yet. Instead they are largely based on the elves. It would be a lot of effort to create entire new portraits for the sake of 2 or 3 counties, and we still have the huge realms of Argonian Black Marsh and Khajiit Elsweyr to create portraits for.

This is well after the fall of Snow Elves and the Dwemer civilizations. That's not to say that they aren't included though ;)

I'm fine with them being based off the elves in fact I believe they were orginally elves (?) I was only suggesting making them a bit greener, and its good to know there will be a few werewolf events in. Also thanks for all of your hardwork and if you ever need a beta tester you have one here :)

So the transformation will happen in game?
Also did someone not make orc portraits early on? Just in regards to making portraits for them, or was it just a concept idea i remember something about them and portraits anyway.

Orcs are humanoids. Humanoids means human shaped. Like upright, two legs, two arms.

Its reasonable to assume he meant Human, i.e. not elves. by the portraits theyre either human or female portraits havent been done yet.

For Werebears thatd be more an event than a character no? As its pretty uncommon so a rare event to deal with rumours of one and the possibility of getting wounded or embrassed.
But if it was traits, surely itd just be a trait with relationship maluses from anyone without the trait and a boost to health and martial or something. Probably the same effects as were-anything else but with a different icon or just different localisation for flavour. Its probably safe to assume that werebears work the same as every other were actually detailed.

DEVELOPMENT DIARY 7

Forested and cannibal Valenwood! Province of the agile Bosmer elfs! Tales of your wonderful land and mysterious inhabitants are told from from Necrom to Daggerfall! May Y'ffre mantain the pact forever!

Your exotic tree-hugging flesh-consuming culture was explored in detail in the fiction work "A Dance in Fire" and your famous wandering tree-cities are known throughout all of Tamriel. The Wild Hunt and the Green Pact being a topic of much discussion.

In the Interregnum a great part of Valenwood is outside the control of the King and, instead, is under the leadership of independent dukes and duchesses. Much work is needed to unite the Bosmer people and the Camoran Kings must act fast to not lose their everlasting realm.

All of Valenwood is under the same religion and the same culture. That may seem to be a good thing, but as they share the same religion and culture group with the Altmer and Maormer; an invasion by those two forces is made easier. Actually, Maormer invasions are a common threat to all southern Bosmers. To say nothing of the Colovian invasions that are a common treat to all northern Bosmers...

Interesting Characters:

Kingdom of Valenwood: Ruled by the mighty Camoran, a lineage of Camoran the Usurper and Mankar Camoran fame. The Kingdom of Valenwood, if united, is a force to be reckoned with! Will King Erasmo III with his good 265 years of age be able to conquer his rightful land?

Southpoint Duchy: Comically named in a similar way that Northpoint, the Southpoint Duchy is an interesting place as its ruled by the most powerful Bosmer woman of the region and is under constant threat by both the Altmer and Maormer. In fact, a part of your duchy is already under the control of an underaged Altmer! How dare they!?

Duchess Nimriel I Greencloak of Southpoint: http://i.imgur.com/vkZSO.jpg

Haven Duchy: The Dukedom of Haven couldn't be more different than it's namesake! While you hold one of the biggest duchies in the land you're also a good target for both the elf invaders and the dangerous Khajiit! The Bosmer and the Khajiit have a history of conflict and you must pray that uniting Elsweyr keeps the Mane occupied for time enough so you may pursue the Camoran Throne.

Next Diary we will be seeing Alinor!

Would just like to mention that DD7 is the first you have seen of Elf females. Remember they are a WIP!

So the transformation will happen in game?

I think Korba? made some Orc portraits. They were just very early concepts though. Also the final Orsimer portraits will probably look considerably more Orcish than the ones in the previous screenshot. They just aren't finished yet. And no, you probably won't see the graphical transformation of Orsimer to Orcs ingame.

They were functional working portaits but they didn't fit the style of the other portraits so I ditched them.
