If you havent already read the interview then you ought to, republics are about more than just elective mechanics. Almost none of the other money-&-trade-power-centric mechanics would fit Morrowind in the least.

Well, yes, I have read the interview. I was just htinking about the succession and assuming the republic succession can be applied without the other mechanics (as currently there is already an "open elective" that republics use), not the other mechanics.

We can hope, but its probably safer to assume that everything in the republic mechanics will be tied together in a hardcoded way as thats how pretty much everything else in CK2 has worked, especially where DLCs are involved sadly. But really its only one interview so far so who knows but basically I'd say leave off planning for it until after the DLCs out or else all plans will fall short when it wont live up to modders ambitions for it.

Actually that's only from the past week :rofl: (30th Nov to 7th Dec according to my logs).

Will these be playable provinces, or are they just a visual thing to make the map look nicer? Might we see a screenshot of them?
Some of the counties will be playable but in my own lore for them they are mostly theocratic (Nobles and Warrior Caste fled to Hammerfell after all; it only makes sense that people would turn to religion for guidance after their islands mostly sink and what is left is reduced to cinders).

On Republic mechanics: They won't be used for Morrowind's Great Houses.

Also, Yokuda;

Thank you very much for the screenshot, and the information. It's good to hear there's a count or two, and I look forward to playing there!

May I ask why the landmass was further reduced from the map you linked? I had always assumed the map was post-sinking (and dated to about the same time as the mod.) I'm not being critical, I'm just curious.

Well, I suppose the map could've been after the catastrophe, but I personally always viewed it as being a "the land that was" type map, and the only info we have that it might even still exist are some random rumours from Anvil. Based on that I figured the land was heavily decimated, so I greatly reduced it and broke it up into many small islands with few holdings, using a "Wasteland" terrain type, which has high attrition ratings (which is reduced for Yokudans thanks to their racial trait, anyone else going there with an army is going to suffer).
I personally quite like the look of it, but I am biased lol

Lookin' forward to seeing this beauty released, will be cheerin' you folks on from Scotland. :D

On question though, will it be possible to form the Empire of Tamriel?

Yes, forming the Empire of Tamriel (or one of the others I guess) I figure would be the ultimate goal for many players, on the opposite side of that, when we move on to making later era bookmarks, I'm sure the goal of many others will be to dismantle it :D

Thalmor? Perhaps. Aldmeri Dominion definitely (the two are not the same, the Thalmor is a political party of sorts, the Aldmeri Dominion is the state).

Ah, the Aldmeri. I knew there was something that held sway over the Thalmor, just haven't played Skyrim in a while.
