i did read that and tried disabling the dlc one by one but that still did not work
this is what it said with only LoR, old gods, republics, sword of Islam, ruler designer active
[texturehandler.cpp:181]: Couldn't find texture file: gfx//event_pictures//aztec_court.tga.

That's not really fair. There's over 500 pages of thread, how is he supposed to know it was answered that recently? It could just as easily have been 50 pages back, why would he waste all that time when he could just ask? Answering him takes all of 5 seconds after all.
Did you install the mod and the fix correctly? As said before, Elder Kings does not use those assets. Make sure the fix REPLACES the files in the Elder Kings mod folder.
If you are sure you followed the install instructions properly, disable ALL DLC except LoR. Then try it again.
... Okay then... I found another error:![]()
I did what I usually did to set up my game: Immediately ambitioned and committed a marriage, and after waiting a few days, I'm hit by a whole bunch of these pop-ups, with only one showing something: Who was in my family (no one), and that I should love them. Closing that window did nothing for the rest as you can see here.
Can anyone help me with this problem, and is there any more information you might need?
First verify your checksum in both the base CK2 game, and in Elder Kings. If you're not getting MLYP, then you need to verify the game files/reinstall the game (whatever gets you to the proper base checksum). The Elder Kings checksum with the fix correctly installed should be PXMT. If this is wrong, then you did something wrong installing the mod, and you should completely delete the mod out of the mods folder and do a clean reinstall of it and the fix.
...My "Checksum"? I don't know what that is, and googling the term isn't helping either.
EDIT: I verified my files and am about to see if it might have fixed the problem.
Are there any plans to change the education system in the next update to something like what they have in the GOT mod? (You choose your child's education class by event when they're 6 or so and the game gives them assigns them a rank based on their stats at age 16)

The education system was taken out as it was having problems, but the mod does have its own education system [that personally i liked alot better than the AGOT one] but currently its not active.
Once the more important new systems are out of the way it might get revisited though.
I've updated version 0.1.3a for CK2 version 1.11.
I won't put it up for download unless I have a clearance from the mod devs.
Also, maybe they want to have a copy of the files to check if they're safe and put up a download themselves.
Please note:
-I'm new to modding and haven't checked if all features of the mod are working (also don't know all features of the mod).
-I've updated the mod via instructions by Korba in the last post of this thread: http://ck2.knuddelwuddel.net/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=494

"If anyone is curious on how to do a "basic" update to a new patch, you need to download a free utility called WinMerge. Once you've got that you need to install the patch to a different location to your CK2 game, then compare the patch folders against the CK2 folder (this is necessary to see which files have actually changed between the new patch and the previous patch), make a note of which files have changed and then compare them against the mod files. It sounds like there's a step too many but there isn't, as the extra step (comparing new patch and old patch) helps avoid removing any changes the mod actually makes but the patch doesn't, if you get me.
Unfortunately if you do this, any issues you encounter you'll have to deal with on your own as it's considered a modmod, and just as Paradox don't offer support when a mod is broken, I can't offer support if your modmod is broken (simply because I don't know what you changed).
Mostly the issues that actually cause CTDs between patches are in the interface folder and the common\defines.lua, those two areas should always be checked and updated first, and usually allow you to load in-game once updated. The reason I haven't released a patch to do this for 0.1.3a is simply that many more changes have taken place in the mod between 0.1.3a and ck2 1.111, and you can't really drag and drop the files anymore as it will cause issues with portraits and stuff."
Also I won't recieve a verification email when I try to register to your knuddelwuddel forum. Dunno if that's a bug or there's a reason behind that but if it weren't for that, I would've posted this in a knuddelwuddel thread.
Bug Update:
Coat of arms are still bugged, but I think I know the problem and if I'm right it will be VERY easy to fix this.
Bug Update:
The modmod is very unstable and crashed when clicking on the heartlands after starting a game. I'll try to fix this.
Also trait icons are no longer visible. I'll also try to fix this.
Umm.... did you check the front page? There's been an unofficial bug fix up there for a day or two (and it was released before that), and it seems to work pretty well.
Well damn...
at least I can be proud of having my own Elder Kings modmod to play...
How long has that been there? I just made the mod because I couldn't wait for an update anymore. Also I was always checking the knuddelwuddel forum...
Also at least I've got the experience to update this mod now! So if there's a update anytime soon and the devs don't have spare time I can be there to update the mod! It's really easy once you understand it! There isn't much too it... Knowing how it works I was able to update the mods within minutes. idk why the devs didn't do it.
Still have trouble with the fix. Took of all DLC but The Old Gods, Sword Of Island, Legacy Of Rome and The Republic; froze within a month or two in-game and then crashed. Tried it with no DLC whatsoever; wouldn't even load the game up. :c
The backlash against our system was actually so harsh we removed it entirely; around the time AGOT added in theirs iirc. No plans to reintroduce it.
I think the biggest problem with our system was people misunderstanding what it's actually meant to do. We solved the multiple-education trait issue and the other bugs by the time we removed it, but people were still screaming about getting kids back with "wrong" educations; in testing we never got the wrong educations so my only assumption is that people didn't realise what educations came from what guild (even after I made a post with the list).
