I'm also posting to commend Knahaten Flu. It was a terrible ordeal, sparing in an inner family of seven only one. Dozens of dukes rose and died in a matter of days, at one point I started running out of people to give lands to. And the peasant revolts really set the mood right.

What you can do :

go to Documents\Paradox Interactive\Crusader Kings II\mod\ElderKings\common look for the text file ''disease'' and change what are the chances of catching the khanaten flu and what year it will appear and stop appearing

knahaten_flu = {
contagiousness = 1
outbreak_chance = 0.5

and a bit lower

timeperiod = {
start_date = 3480.1.1
end_date = 3481.1.1
one_only = yes

I changed it to last a year and forgot what was it's original end date but ya that's what I did and I think some people just completely erased it

Is the flu still a game ender after the last version?

It's very much fixed now. It's still nasty, and painful, and tense as all hell, but it doesn't claim everyone and their dog any more, and it only lasts around 10 years. It even seemed to last only 5 or so in Hammerfell and High Rock.
I was very impressed with the chaos it caused. The early withdrawal of it from Hammerfell allowed the new High Queen to invade Anvil, while the immune Argonians in Thorn used the chance to nab a lot of territory from Morrowind and the now-independent House Hlaalu.

I recently tried to play the mod for the first time. After installing it via the installer, launching Crusader Kings and enabling both the mod (and the music of course), the game launched into its loading screens. Of which it loaded various randomized tips, and offered me to select the language. After selecting the language, it had a few more loading screens.

But before it could get anywhere else, it randomly crashed to the desktop. I've tried the game/mod a few times, and it's crashed every time. I have the legacy of Rome. I'm not sure how to fix this. I have reinstalled it, but it didn't work.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

I'm sitting here looking at the Charitable and Greedy traits, and I'm thinking to myself, wait a minute this doesn't make sense from an economic standpoint. A greedy ruler hordes gold, drives up prices, forces his subjects to sell more wares on the cheap abroad and hurts his economy which should drive the 'national tax modifier' down. A charitable ruler would do the opposite. He would put more money into the roads, the orphanages, and the temples and his kingdom would overall I think grow.

Sorry, I just had to laugh at your characterization of Keynsian economics in the world of Tamriel. So a "charitable" inflationary fiscal policy of building lots of orphanages should expand the economy and increase the tax base, while a greedy fiscal policy will stunt growth and reduce the tax base. You, sir, are a socialist! :) Dude, this is the middle ages (we'll ignore the fact that we're also on another world) - greedy rulers squeezed their peasants for every last coin and charitable ones just... didn't.

Gameplay-wise, it's also to balance the negative trait with a good side effect. That way it isn't completely black-and-white.

Well, what I was actually getting at was that I'd like the ability to create government owned forges that crank out heavy weapons and armor. Perhaps mandatory magicka testing for all teenagers to determine whether they should be conscripted into the Anvil Royal Battlemages.

I don't know if this has been reported already, but the changes to the Map Room building for republic mansions does not work as intended. It does not increase your trade post limit.
Are you certain? It's not clear, but you actually start out with a trade post limit of 0 or 1 which is bumped up to the default minimum. Thus when you actually build your first building which increase trade post limit you don't get any benefit. It's pretty silly but a vanilla issue.

Oh right! I forgot about that thing.

EDIT: Wait, the description said that I got 1 for my male head and 3 for the mansion... I'll have to check this again when I next play.

Vanilla. We made no changes to the Republic buildings, we just overhauled the Castle, City, and Temple holdings.

I've encounter a bug. I formed the High Kingdom of Cyrodiil, and a chunk of sourthern Elsweyr was incorporated de jure into it.

http://i.imgur.com/5SLFKbE.jpg

I'm facing an identical bug in my current game as Kvatch. It game as a nasty surprise at first, because I thought the Khajit had somehow managed to conquer the Heartlands while I'd been busy driving the Bosmer back to their forsaken forests.

what are the event IDs or trait codes for known vampire and secret vampire?

There are no event IDs... because they dont exist. As for trait codes, idk, we change traits so much that the trait codes themselves change with every update.

That impossible. In vanilla the Map Room does not boost your trade post limit.

Its possible someone snuck in some tweaks, but we did not overhaul the family palace like we did the castle/temple/city holdings.
