It seems that tyranny gives positive relationship points(+15). Working as Designed? Or is there some kind of new mechanic?. I am playing as the Jarl of Eastmarch.
Just checked the opinions of my vassals in my game where I'm currently playing as a tyrannical ruler, I find some give positive +15 whereas others still give the vanilla opinion modifiers. Playing as King of Markarth.

Tyrant gives a positive opinion modifier to represent the control through fear. At some point I'll be adding a different method of doing it that requires actively being a tyrant to maintain control but that's a while off.

Well thats awesome. Always wished vanilla had a "fear" system. Makes being a tyrannical ruler actually viable and fun. Not much point being a Tyrant if all that happens is constant revolts because the vassals arent seeing the picture that if they piss off the King, or Queen, they end up in prison, or dead.

The education is not working for me, I liked the old system better, its quite annoying educating your son but still have no influence on which traits he gets,

>children in your court instead of Draugr
laughingundead.jpg

In other news, my testing of the new version has begun. A few things I've noticed so far:

1: Hiring an advisor doesn't seem to result in madcap anomalies like Dragon Cultist Maomer anymore, but now strangely has a random chance to result in a 15 year old girl appearing in your court and leaving/dying almost immediately. On two occasions so far I've gotten either a Draugr girl with the "Abomination" trait who died in days or a Draugr girl who disappeared from my court within a week (I haven't been able to find her since). I'll need to test other races to see if this happens for them too.

2: Characters with the 'Undead' trait can still get the ambition to marry. Since Undead cannot marry, you can see the problem here. At present roughly half of my court is pining to tie the knot and will never be able to do so. (I can also take the same ambition as well, but haven't for obvious reasons.) They can also apparently access the Seduce plot (several of my female Draugr courtiers have attempted to get in my robes), though this might just be a result of them selecting the plot before their Undead trait event fires.

3: My Draugr King wound up getting the Lustful trait and jumped into bed with my Royal Assassin. I thought this was just an amusing anecdote at first, but later my character wound up hopping on another courtier and forming a relationship with her instead. Since I'd never gotten a "breakup" event with the first lover I went and checked to see if she'd died somehow, only to find that she had apparently taken another lover... another female courtier. Neither of them had the homosexual trait, so I can only assume that some, if not all, of the female Draugr in my court are bisexual.

I will now leave you all to the resulting mental images. Enjoy.

Edit: Also, never use the "Adoption" decision as a Draugr. The resulting child always gets the Abomination trait and dies immediately, wasting your gold and prestige spent on creating them.

Is it just me, or did the game get slower with the latest patch (patch a). It could be my imagination though.

When you and your entire court are centuries-old, decayed corpses animated by dark magic, does the former possession of long-rotted genitals really make any difference?

Note that Draugr are not really meant to be playable, it is just a placeholder 'replacement' for the old Atmora placeholder.

It did. Wondered what they messed up this time.

It is not that we messed up, its that we fixed de jure assimilation of petty kingdoms into high kingdoms... Though the script in A is a bit buggy, I fixed it further for the next patch.

Can you release it now as a hotfix? The game is significantly slower.

I think there's an issue someplace with the de jure assimilation. For some odd reason, a big chunk of Elsweyr has ended up as de jure Kingdom of Cyrodiil, despite Cyrodiil never existing (or even coming close to) or that bit of territory ever leaving the ownership of the Mane, except for Tenmar.

So far, my testing (based on a save about 100 years in) has seem to indicate that a vast majority of the lag is being caused by the custom assassination system...

Elves always end up dying childless, meanwhile human dynasties end up with 10 kids. anything I can do to fix that?

It is not really fixable without a substantial overhaul... sometime in the future I plan on converting Mer pregnancy into an entirely event-based system.

So I am definitely not the only one that has not gotten a single event when educating my children/grandchildren.

It is possible that some old leftovers of the old education system are causing it

Just had a massive Knahaten Flu outbreak in my game as Orgnum. I think you guys managed to nail the line between balance and horrible, horrible pain this time around. I think I went through about fifteen different dukes for my holdings in Valenwood when the outbreak hit. Felt a massive sense of relief as I saw it start to retreat, first on the islands, then on the mainland of Valenwood. Poor Khajiit, though. They lost a lot of Manes.

I'm sitting here looking at the Charitable and Greedy traits, and I'm thinking to myself, wait a minute this doesn't make sense from an economic standpoint. A greedy ruler hordes gold, drives up prices, forces his subjects to sell more wares on the cheap abroad and hurts his economy which should drive the 'national tax modifier' down. A charitable ruler would do the opposite. He would put more money into the roads, the orphanages, and the temples and his kingdom would overall I think grow.
