I think that both the spaceships and the reman moon colony are pre-TES:O

IDK about the rest.

They sort of were, they were conjured up by someone who is now a former writer in Bethesda.

If anyone is curious where I am getting my info from, I managed to snag a 'digital copy' of the June 2012 Game Informer article before Zenimax could C&D the source. Its pretty revealing on how badly TESO is being managed and how incompetant the developers are.

Kirkbride. An arrogant, raving lunatic most of the time, but holy crap if he can't spin lead to gold on occasion. If I'm remembering correctly he wrote a lot of Morrowind's backstory and the entirety of the 36 Lessons of Vivec.

And hey, if everyone's already forgotten, the Dwemer were building giant robots well before any game in the series thus far, including Online. If Online really is canonizing the Reman-era spaceships and moon base (and I demand sources on that) then I may finally have a reason to look forward to it!

All the more reason to pretend TES:O doesn't exist~~~!

Well, it is kind of pertingent to the mod as TES:O takes place just shortly after the mod's first start date and we have to decide and get in touch with the kommon p33pz on how to treat it, but yeah, sure, we'll drop it.

Just saying but we have never really seen a real war in any ES game, I don't count the rebellion i Skyrim since it was a more guerrilla war. The games also don't have the real power to show real armies and battles in a realistic way so in case of a "real" war I am pretty sure that the military works almost as the levy system. Further proof is that a good part of the men in skyrim talks about having fought in the great war which has led me to believe that there was a situation were the empire conscripted most of the able fighters in all of their lands.

The game is scaled to the perspective needed for the game. The battles witnessed in Skyrim are tiny because of the needs of the game, but they are abstractions of greater battles. Just as the cities in the game being smaller than villages doesnt mean tamriel is almost unpopulated, the armies being tiny bands doesnt mean theyre not great armies.
Skyrim and Morrowind are Games first and representations of the setting second. The lore and dialogue throughout both games imply the presence of great armies, even imply great garrisons in places you can go and count only 20 people in. For a vague example of levies, maybe when in that vampire quest when the townsfolk are roused to join you thats enough to represent levies in a time of crisis.
So its reasonable to assume that just as one house in a Skyrim city represents 100 or 1000 houses you cant see [Compare Solitude in the Wolf Queen books and what common sense tells you to the Solitude in the game], one soldier in Skyrim represents the 100 or 1000 you cant see. As you said, the games engines and the devs workload couldnt manage the setting perfectly accurately so as its not needed for the gameplay no attempt was made.

As to the legion being retinues and being able to depend on them solely for local conflicts, then by the time of the games any Empire will be able to support that many retinues without retinues being needed. If retinue related technology isnt modded from the base game. As the mod is generally set earlier than the other games and in a very different set of conditions there doesnt need to be a precedent in the games for levies to be put forward as the reasonable answer. Especially as, just as the ES games are built around their mechanics first and lore second, the mod is built for CK2 where levies are a foundation of the game.

I have no idea.
Better an offering to me and a relatively precise date rather than a pointless offering to lord Sheogorath and something out of that daedric random number generator

What do you got against random number generators? As an IT Programmer that's how I win my everyday bread.

I can't offer you tiger blood until I see a place where tigers (or tiger men, or men dressed like tigers, I don't care) live so.... you better get me some Akavir screens.

We'll see about firstborn daughters and cheese later (this is Spain, I can get you some other delicatessen instead of simple and bland French cheese)

I'm not the originator of that - it's from a group chat session we had

Yeah, im afraid they are wrong. If your going to bash ESO, bash it for valid reasons.

Ignoring ESO is one thing, but the ranting and bashing is another.

My complaints about ESO are based on what I read in the June 2012 Game Informer article. I was cautiously optimistic about ESO until I read it. I do have copies on my harddrive.

It's OK if they're programmed, but magical random number generators... Yeah...
