So what DLC packs will be optional? I read previously that the people who hail from Hammerfell will have the African portraits. Thanks in advance![]()
Basically, the African DLC for Redguard portraits and the Republic DLC for republican gameplay.
With the complete ret-con of the Elder Scrolls, are you going to stick with the old lore or the (insert expletives here aplenty) revised lore for the MMO?
And those races - are they like cultures or do you have a separate system in place to allow both to co-exist? (Your OP isn't incredibly informative on the subject)
I believe House Hlaluu was mentioned along with Republics - Is there any possibility we'll see the houses at some point using these rules? I'd love to rule the world through trade.
And lastly a minor suggestion - since cross species marriage is possible in the universe (lorewise), how will you handle these in terms of inheritance? Will we be able to adopt children to preserve our dynasties? (with pretenders and everything)
Most of the MMO's Lore is being treated as non-existent. Some things however, like characters and some geography, is being used as they give detailed info about an otherwise completely blank time period. For example, there is no Ebonheart Pact or Alliance War in our game, but there do is a High King Jorunn the Skald-King of Skyrim.
Races are determined by the graphical_culture (basically, ethnicity of the portrait) and a complimentary trait. Cultures are still cultures.
We decided to go against using republic mechanics with the Great Houses as that wouldn't be the most correct way of representing them and would make their gameplay too much focused on naval commerce.
Some races can interbreed (like humans with humans) while others can't and have their offspring killed by event (like human and khajiit)
