Such is Life!
I could be dead tomorrow, so could you. I could finish the mod and die just as I was about the press the key to upload it ... and no-one could ever play it, and I'd sit in Heaven (?) and be frustrated that all those thousands of hours doing a map, and then a mod, and ALL those guys' contributions were for nothing... OR more realistically Paradox could again ban me and I'd have to just go off and play the sequel to Shadow of Mordor (best game EVER) instead of doing this mod. ...
I am sorry, i didn't wanted be rude, i just want to know your future plans with this mods. I really hope you won't die tomorrow. (And banned) :D
(Btw, this game [Shadow of Mordor] looks good, Its reminds me to Assassins Creed.)

But then again maybe Napoleon will be thwarted by one of his generals, and maybe that general will seek to conquer Europe, just as his friend Napoleon had hoped to do.

There can always be separate era scenarios, one being a Napoleon Era scenario for those who prefer to play that? That is why it is key that when I set up the mod, it covers a possible era from 1750 to 1914. Can be done, but just needs to be thought through and planned out.

EDIT:
Then again, maybe that is just too much, may be a better idea to have separate scenarios, smaller time frames, and more specialised. IS WHY the planning and thinking part is important.
And you answered my question. In my opinion 2 scenario could be better and more comfortable to player.

Oh don't worry here about being rude, as most of the time I am rude and I don't even know it.:(
You can get Shadow of Mordor (I played it through 3 times) very cheap on g2play, and I have never had any problems with buying stuff there, ever. Best part of that game is the personal battle with the Captains, becomes very personal and great when you kill them off.

Yes, I think a 1750 to 1800 scenario, and an 1800 to whatever scenario as well, would be ideal.

I do my own mods and I'm sure he does his own mods as well. Most modders keep their mods very personal to themselves. You find this out when you offer to help, and the answer is no thanks!

Ok, so, the mod will start in 1750.
I have 4 years to prepare for war
The Seven Years' War during 1754 - 1763
French Revolutionary Wars 1792 - 1802
Napoleonic Wars 1803 – 1815
There is 29 year without any global conflict. That 29 year is really long in DH engine, not like in EU2 engine.
I guess without events, it will be boring.

Having multiple chained AIs...for example, if couintry 1 wins war, then use one of 3 AIs. If country 1 loses war, use a different set of AIs. Point is to be less reliant on railroading events (fewer events) to make it more dynamic. Maybe Dr Bob could chime in...I do not know how to chain AIs given certain events.

As for the intervening time between wars, hopefully as much content from Victoria can be modded into DH. For example, political reforms (health care, max working hours, etc.) like in Victoria can be simulated by technologies in DH.

Modding questions: Prestige can be simulated by off map Victory points...but can VPs be given by event or tech (as well as conquest ofc)?
How about paying VPs to declare war? Possible to mod?
How would one simulate humiliate in Victoria (loss of prestige in a war), but no loss of territory?
Would the dev team consider victory points be displayed on the top screen at all times (like metal, energy, etc)?

Some good ideas there iloathecapcha.
No problem to chain AIs, you can have a separate AI in each part of the event options.
Dr Bob, not a name I have heard in about 4 or 5 years?
Good idea about the offmap VPs, a definite option I think.
Humiliate a country, food for thought, let me think on that.
The top screen items will be different of course, different era, etc.

Yes, not intending to write hard-coded events, more Decisions with options and follow on from that, with more dynamic technologies and other stuff, should be capable of delivering something different.

Cheers

I understand your points, but... still... we are talking about 29 years. Or just make a ahistorical scenario, like KR.

In my opinion 1750-1815 timeframe sounds easier to be implemented in DH. This mod is going to be awesome no matter what will happen and which ideas are going to be in the mod, I will patiently watch this thread, good luck guys! :)

If I recall, the DH engine can omit the time in hours, just display the day, month and year, like EU and Victoria?
No idea, never needed to change it?

Thanks for the vote of confidence.

As far as I know the current map accurately represents the current US State borders of Washington State, Oregon and California.

I have checked as far from Ireland across to the Pacific. I am at the gates of Australia now. Still checking.

Those guys look like us scalywags arguing over what is in the mod or not... THANKS
