Wow, I leave the CK2 community and people are picking up on this. Yeah, sorry for disappearing unannounced, I actually kind of got really bored of Crusader Kings II and started doing... other things. I just recently played the SoI expansion pack so my interest has been renewed. I'm going to go try to do the whole "emerging religions" thing. Also have to work on GoT paintings...

I just got done reading some posted suggestions and find them nice. I am indeed all for the whole remove tribal invasion for people with four or more counties. Once you get that big, you're kind of already unstoppable. Maybe two duchies is a better example. Maybe. And the barbarian culture thing, I may implement, all characters and provinces will change to the culture named after the Kingdom (sort of works like Mongol conversion). For Empires... still not sure how to go on about this. Instead of how many Kingdom titles you hold, I think I may make it an event that fires if your realm size is a certain number. Vassals not being able to declare Holy Wars or Invasions is something that needs to be done,

However, I want to post some suggestions as well as you THE PLAYERS will get to experience. For religion spread, it may work like Mongols. The religion will randomly emerge at its "capital". Neighboring provinces that are pagan will have a high chance of becoming that religion, and lords can decide to convert (AI will probably always do this unless has zealous trait.) I don't know if I want to do this like Mongol Conversion in which every vassal and province under that character will also convert to that religion, or just have that as a different event where the character can decide to do force conversion. As for the religion capital... There's two ways to approach this. One is the historical way where I just have the religions begin where it did historically. The problems of this could be uneven spread. Ideally, Christianity would eventually split, as does Islam (this might be very hard to do.) The second approach is to just place them in the four corners of the map (not literally) and have them emerge at the same time. This is probably the easier way to do it. I also want to change invasion CB so it doesn't necessarily work like the invasion CB. Instead, it will work like Muslims Conquest (but will be called Tribal Invasion because it just sounds cooler than Tribal Conquest. Tribes don't conquer places. They invade the hell out of you.)

about Tribal Invasion. are we talking for player only or also for AI?

cause if you take it away from AI it will take ages (literally) for an AI Kingdom to form without it. what you could do it to take it away from vassalized rulers and kingdoms.

I think I might make it target duchies instead of kingdoms like 1.06. The problem in pre-1.05 invasions is that it vassalizes all of the loser's vassals from Timbuktu to Finland.

How did you generate the counties so that they have potentially seven holdings and only one existing? I'm guessing you didn't do it by hand? ;)

If you used a program any chance i could get my hands on it or the sourcecode?

With tribal invasion/conquest, I think once you have 4 counties, (doesn't matter if you hold a duchy or not), you lose the CB to never get it back again.

For religion spread, I was thinking that religions should fire up in random places with it's capitol in the capitol of a realm whose ruler has a high piety and maybe a couple of traits like zealous or something like that (but i think high piety and or learning are enough). Which religion? I guess it should be decided randomly? And you do make a point that if all religions don't appear at the same time, it would be unbalanced, so I think Islam and Christians should indeed appear the same time (sort of like if pagan divided themselves in two brances), and then each would divide again.

I did it all by hand. The counties are listed in history/provinces, all I did was set max_settlements = 7 and added a # in front of the other holdings. It's somewhat tedious but isn't difficult.

I think that the religions should appear where they did historically, yes this may lead to an uneven spread but so what? Also I agree with you that they shouldn't lose their conquest/invasion mechanic till they're at least duchy size and I agree that becoming an empire should be based on total size not king titles. Are you going to introduce the religions by having the religious heads be granted a bishopric in their respective capitals?

Probably not, hopefully there will be a pious lord who would grant a religious head some land, which would become the capital of the religion. Christianity didn't emerge from Rome, but that is the seat of the Pope. Maybe a nice Siberian Prince (doesn't exist in-game) would grant the Pope his first holding, forcing people to go to Siberia to see the Pope.

I think it's more interesting to see it emerge in a random place! the whole point of this whole mod is to let things flow naturally or randomly-ish.

Also, AI needs to be more aggressive u.u

In my game, the only other realm bigger than 2, it's one next to mine that only grew because it attacked a county that decided to attack the same county as I and thus won and started to grew from there. All the others are pretty much 1 sized realms. AI needs to risk their eggs and try to conquer other counties even if they all have pretty much the same levy size.

Yeah, I'm going to make an event that fires for 1 county pagans if they have good enough stewardship/diplomacy/martial in which they receive a small stack of troops to get their first kick. I imagine the stewardship is being a sort of "Golden Age" where the tribe flourished enough to be overpopulated, martial and diplomacy for a chieftain that just seems to be very inspiring. And genocidal, maybe.

Hopefully a nice lord will grant their lord a bishopric ;) Also I've found the AI to be aggressive at expanding, I actually had a run for my money in Italy and the other regions are bulking up pretty quickly. The game is a LOT more challenging if you pick a non pagan religion using the ruler designer DLC and takes you longer to expand. Might take you long enough that the AI starts expanding around you.
