Buckley Bushyansta has the unfortunate position of being the baron/mayor of Taskaunt. A Trefling, Buckley ran for office to prove to his family that he was more then a washed up warlock whose first and last attempt at adventuring ended with his entire party being crushed by rocks from a trap he accidentally activated. Surprisingly he won the election and not a day goes by that he regrets it. Gnoll attacks have increased ten fold since his election and the wizards of Thay have revealed to him that they rigged the election to use him as a pawn for their interests. Does Taskaunt have the stones to stand up to the Wizards and Gnolls? Or will Buck spend his days drinking and smoking away the municipal budget? Buckley is a level 2 Warlock who is 33 years old and is fat, slothful, depressed, a drunk, honest, paranoid, cynical and shy. He has a legitimized bastard 16 year old daughter named "Marbles" who is strong and a celibate level 1 zealous Trefling monk who hates his guts. From a one shot I played where everyone besides me died from a falling rock trap.

Excellent, thank you! I need to add tieflings anyway because there are some canon tiefling courtiers in Thay; this is further encouragement!

I'm hoping for a release at the end of the month. We have three new governments, patron deities for several religions, several new playable species, many new playable characters, and newly detailed dynasty trees and title histories.

We are using Shou Lung as the "China", and Tu Lung as one of the "invaders" that can take over Shou Lung.

Orcs are definitely a possibility. And I'd like to do spirit folk at some point, as the canonical emperor during our timeline has a spirit folk grandparent. Beyond that, I'm not sure, but I've got some options sketched out.

I have bad news and good news:

The bad news is that there hasn't been any significant update to the combat system, and I haven't yet had a chance to disassemble it myself. So I think our planned end of month release is going to be put back a bit.

The good news is that I've coded in all the characters that were offered up in this thread, along with lots of others. We now have playable tiefling, goblin and hobgoblin characters.

I'll take Lyntara

Name: Elihir

Level: 15 (at this point in his career, still using him :D)

Traits: Elusive Shadow, content, Poet, Gregarious, cynical, proud,

Race: Half-elf (Sea elven parent)

Stats: Intrigue should be highest stat, with diplomacy coming second and martial coming third. Stewardship and Learning should be tanked.

Bio: Elihir was a roaming adventurer known for his ability to infiltrate and manipulate people using magic. Born to a sea elf mother he hadn't met until much later in life, he was raised by his human father in Neverwinter. Living life as a fisherman's child, they grew up poor and wanted more than just the basest necessities. Turning to thievery proved to be both profitable and exhilarating, and over the years he became more and more of a skilled thief.

His father died by age 16, and he inherited his boat and a small amount of savings. With no desires to stay in neverwinter, he left for Luskan to join a pirate crew. His skills got him picked up by a known pirate crew of the day, The Green-Flamed Skulls. For five years he went pirating, taking over rich merchant ship and raiding trading posts around the Sword Coast. His pirating with the Green-Flamed Skulls and pirating in general came to an end when the Captain became cursed and steered the ship to a cursed island off Chult without the crew noticing. The Captain rounded up crew and sacrificed them to an ancient but dormant lich. Elihir barely escaped with his life, being one of two crew of survived the encounter.

Elihir returned to Neverwinter three years later and stayed there for 15 years, becoming a smuggler for the local thieves guild. The call to adventure came to them, as a group asked for his assistance in going to Chult. From there, he spend two years wandering the Sword Coast with this group, taking out growing threats to the city-states and kingdoms of the area. The party went there ways, but Elihir didn't go to Neverwinter. He took His ship around the cape of Chult and planned on going to the East, but only made it to Halruaa before the Great Sea ruined his small fishing boat. From there, he made his way to the Sea of Fallen Stars and went around the area for about 4 years helping the local city states and nations with their problems.

Ehilir's exploits and past reached the ears of Neverwinter and he was outlawed from the city and surrounding lands. His home rejecting him, he commissioned a ship in Selgaunt and started recruiting across Sembia for rejects and pirates. As soon as his ship was finished he had a sizable crew and various pirate captains under his command. Him and his fleet set off, stealing all across the Sea of Fallen Stars and being a thorn in the side for various cities in the region.

Needing a permanent base of operations, Elihir sailed to Laothkund and blockaded the impoverished port town. Parleying with the city leaders, he "bought" the town from them and set up in the docks of Laothkund and rules over it as a Captain-Baron.

Elihir is an androgynous NB that leans to male presentation in my game, so male in game would be the closest.

I love me some goblins! Was thinking of submitting one of my goblin charicters but felt like the none of them really fit any of the areas presented to us.

I'm going to need to populate the Goblin Marches soon, so you'll have plenty of scope for adding goblin characters. I'll try and put up the next list of vacancies this weekend.

From there, he made his way to the Sea of Fallen Stars and went around the area for about 4 years helping the local city states and nations with their problems.

Missing the Sword Coast, they commissioned a great ship in Selgaunt and transported it to the Sword Coast. Sailing from Amn to Neverwinter, he was barred from entering the city as he was deemed a threat to the city due to his pirating and his exploits in the previous years. No longer welcome in his home, he went to Luskan and recruited outlaws and pirates and formed a Pirate fleet not seen on the Sea of Swords in generations. With his forces, he took over the small port of Lyntara and turned it into a corsair base for operations around the northern sword coast. (This paragraph ties in where my character is at currently to the game and province).

Elihil is an androgynous NB that leans to male presentation in my game, so male in game would be the closest.

I love this. And NB representation is very welcome, even if the game can't represent it directly. (LGBTQ representation has been a feature of the Realms for a long time; the original Ruins of Undermountain set has a character who'd nowadays be understood as a trans man, and there's at least one ruler with a same-sex consort in the 3e campaign setting book. Ed's made it clear he'd really wanted to do more of this, earlier.)

Unfortunately, NTE1 already gave us a character for Lyntara. Would you rather have one of the two remaining independent cities on the Wizards' Reach, or one of the small islands off Luskan?

Thanks,

I'm going to need to populate the Goblin Marches soon, so you'll have plenty of scope for adding goblin characters. I'll try and put up the next list of vacancies this weekend.

Ok, cool. While it's not directly related to being NB, would you like this character flagged as gay or bi? (We have both.)

Bi would fit the character!

Also, if there is a "bard" type trait in the mod, I would use that instead of poet.
There's the whole bard class, at least in terms of traits and level progression. Would you like their levels to be in bard?

This is a good source of goblin tribes which include a few from the Goblin Marches. http://www.candlekeep.com/library/articles/goblins.htm and this article provides interesting info on the area including a rough map of the areas where each race of the marchs have settled. https://www.realmshelps.net/faerun/lore/ecologies/stonelands1.shtml This website gives more detail into the goblin tribes https://www.realmshelps.net/faerun/lore/ecologies/stonelands2.shtml#back with a rather bigoted narrator and has a section of adventure hooks which may provide interesting county's https://www.realmshelps.net/faerun/lore/ecologies/stonelands4.shtml
