Well first off, Amazigh. Amazigh traditionally dressed very differently from Arabs, or anybody else for that matter, particularly women.

Amazigh traditional costume for ladies could be summed up in one word: bling. Lots and lots of bling. Add in facial tattoos, long braided hair and

Men on the other hand wear very simple clothes and a head wrap that when not covering their nose and mouth (when out of doors) hangs loosely under the chin. This is the opposite of in Arabia where men do not cover their face when going outside but women do.

Men on the other hand tend to dress a lot more simply:

There is no cultural difference between "Tuareg" and other Amazigh (called Berbers), Tuareg are just less Arabized and have kept most of their traditions intact.

Onward to East Africa!

First off, the Habesha! Habesha people traditionally wear very simple dress and braid their hair into very distinctive styles. Also facial tattoos and (common to east africa) facial scarification. Lots of Habasha have a cross tattoo or scar on their foreheads.

The white turban is for priests, men usually braided their hair and/or wore cloth wraps otherwise.

This fasion (scarification, tightly braided hair, lots of jewelry, fewer clothes) has an absurdly old tradition you can see these fashions on heiroglypics.

Christian Nubians (some above are pagans) dress in the manner of Habasha (both from the Coptic religious culture) of flowing white clothes, with cross tattoos or scars.

Should be. I haven't been on the forums in some time. IRL is waaaay too busy at the moment with up to 100 hours of work a week. If it doesn't work let me know and I can try to make a hotfix or something.

I hope so too. Since they effectively "cut me off" from being able to do anything with the content (by virtue of it being DLC), I can't really do anything with them now. I've seen it said from Johan that publishing stuff in mods that contains whole or large-part content from their DLC is a no-no. I suppose I could hope that more people would use it over the DLC, or include the DLC as a dependency, but moves on either side would essentially alienate one portion of the user-base.

At the moment, such concerns are moot-points. I have neither the time nor resources with my work IRL. The end of the fiscal year and impending tax year mean long hours. Sadly, my work is partially seasonal. :/

Holy shit have there been some changes to the portrait system.

I'm still coming to terms with some of them at the moment, but sadly this means that my mod is no longer functional until I redo a bunch of my work.

So, beyond screwing the pooch with the portraits, they also finished an African set before I could. I don't know whether I should scrap it or just shift focus. I'm also noticing a change in the language used to reference the system, so I am afraid I will have to spend a few days figuring out what all they changed and how to fix it.

Thoughts?

Your mongols are beyond awesome. I have no doubt that your Africans will be awesome too. I think you should just add yours to the existing graphics for additional variety! (I.e. maybe shift focus a bit but continue)

I'm not enormously enthusiastic about the African faces DLC - on the pictures it looks good but there is a distinct lack of variety among the advertised faces. They all look like football players. Anything to spice up the variety would probably be super.

Agreed. I'd also like to see East and West Africans differentiated.

I haven't actually looked at them in-game, but seeing that they are DLC, it makes it difficult to actually makes changes from Paradox's standing policy of "Don't release anything we sell separately." I could tweak their sets to make it more variable, but I don't believe that they could be released due to the majority still being DLC. And I couldn't add mine for the same reason, because they would have to be appended to the end of the DLC, which would still mean their inclusion for people without having to pay Paradox. (This is beyond the other fact that they likely don't match up, and the faces would end up looking like Picassos.)

BLC used Mongol Faces without problem. So, may be you can do similar with African Faces? Somehow. And damned, those faces are amazing. A shame that I discovered this mod only now. Great job.

BLC used the mongol DLC graphics.
