Ah, I see. It would be great if you could help the project Umbra Sphere, an Eurasian Mod after you finished the portraits for Vanilla cultures. There are some natives on that thread, so you can get easily information about clothes of Eastern cultures, f.e. Japanese ones from me.
While I would love to be able to do that for you, the sheer amount of work this takes means that, for now, my efforts must be concentrated on my own work. :/

I would have made a request similar to chatnoir17's for Lux Invicta but I know how time consuming this portrait bussiness is. I've got Dacians, Huns, Jews, Sarmatians, Saka, Parthians etc in that I'm not satisfied with portait wise In any case I'll be eagerly awaiting to see your future work - now back to implementing Jews in Lux.

Thanks! I tried to make these ones better than the default. I hated seeing dark-skinned, equatorial-looking Turks.

Time-consuming is the word. The last few weeks I've been training and studying for my SEE, in addition to work, and just haven't had the time. Never have enough time.
Whoah! Those Turks look GREAT.
Some are a bit "intense" (the ones earlier described as somewhat dead looking... I just think they look like they're in intense meditation) but it's overall a gigantic step up from the bland Mongol faces and cartoonish oriental characters in vanilla CK2. I need to try this out in the game, to see what it looks like when randomization comes into play.

I haven't gotten around to try it out yet, but I would like to remark that your Alp Arslan is a MAGNIFICENT Turkish badass ruler face.

I would say, that face is fit to be sculpted into a 30 feet bronze relief to be installed on the other side of the road from Kemal Atatürk's mausoleum. Did you model it after a Turkish movie star?
Only the braids (?) at the side of the face look a little funny. What are they?

The Turks had a thing for braids. Not the Ottomans, mind you, but the "fresh-outta-the-plains" Turks. They wore it long and plaited. Same as the Kipchaks and the Pechenegs.
Thanks! Hopefully my work on the African faces isn't beaten-to-the-punch by Paradox. I believe they may be doing it based off of a recent post I saw from a dev, actually...
Unrelated, and with Meneth's permission, I have included a link here for the files necessary to run this mod alongside his Project Balance mod. It will also be listed on the second post in the downloads section at the bottom.
Basically, simply copy the folder into the folders for Project Balance and this mod, allowing any overwrites to occur. That's the lazy method.
For those people who want an active role, the biggest things one needs to do are:
Entering turkishgfx, cumangfx, and pecheneggfx into the graphical_culture part of the relevant culture files (altaic.txt in Meneth's mod, for instance, and 00_cultures.txt for most everyone else)
Making sure those are also entered in graphicalculturetypes.txt in the interface folder.
Making sure my graphics are loaded in the right spot (The flags for d_cumans and d_pechenegs are totally optional)
Making sure that you use my portrait_properties.txt (This does mean that this is totally incompatible with any other mod that uses this file, like Shaytana's Better Looking Portraits mod)
With some additional permission from other mod hosters, I may be able to put more compatibility fixes up with other mods, like Prince and the Thane and CKII+. But... Back to my day job!
CrackdToothGrin, you have no idea how much myself and others appreciate being able to use your work at this stage in its development. Normally I wouldn't bother with stuff of pre-alpha quality, but it does give us an idea of just how good it will look when (if?) you actually stop messing about and put some real effort in.

Damn! I've been away working for the past month or so, and so I'd hoped the time away from the forum may have helped lower your guard. I think it's about 4 - 1 but don't hold me to that. I've not played CK II (or anything) in ages but I hear rumor of a new patch and Byzantine-themed DLC, so I may wait until then before I start a new game. It's looking like I may get posted elsewhere soon so I'm not really sure what the plan is, but I'd hoped to read a couple of AARs once I got time.
Anyway, good to speak to you again buddy and I look forward to your next batch of screenshots. The Kingdom of Heaven-style helmets sound great.
Believe me, I'm squeezing the time in when I can. I need to make sure the female Seljuks get a few different pieces of gear beyond the Cuman set, but for right now I'm content.
Hi there - I just want to thank you for this amazing mod. Its splendid - absolutely beautiful and I have a real blast playing as a turkish Khorshid dynasty. All those amazing portraits really add a depth to my game. Now I am always excited when my family members are coming of age and am always nicely surprised by their looks.

No problem! Glad that you like them! I plan on making a later Ottoman set with some province change events to simulate the rise of Late Medieval Turkish styles. I cannot give any date of release, as its almost entirely dependent on how my work schedule is, but it will be done eventually.
