I really, really hope this mod gets updated so that the Iberians use the new Basque or Suebi portraits because they look awesome and vanilla iberians look ugly compared to everyone else in western europe. Also hope there is an update to Norse and Greek portraits as well.
I disagree; I think the Iberian portraits look better than the new Basque ones (though that's mostly because I don't like how Silfae (the artist for Holy Fury) does their chins), and regardless I feel like the Iberians and the Basque should look different. I'm also curious on how you think the Norse and Greeks could be updated.I really, really hope this mod gets updated so that the Iberians use the new Basque or Suebi portraits because they look awesome and vanilla iberians look ugly compared to everyone else in western europe. If you are talking about vanilla, there's no such thing as a Basque portrait. Vanilla Basque culture uses the Italian portraits. In the upcoming release of CPRplus, the Basque portrait set is going to be using CPRplus's *Edit* old Italian face.I really, really hope this mod gets updated so that the Iberians use the new Basque or Suebi portraits because they look awesome and vanilla iberians look ugly compared to everyone else in western europe.
That's not happening in the upcoming release, at least. I'd say that they are pretty low on our priority list as things stand, especially given the limited free time sifsilver has now. Also hope there is an update to Norse and Greek portraits as well.
Will Basques and Occitans be the only groups using the CPRplus Western face in the new version? Also, have you guys decided which groups will get assets from the new Western and South Slavic faces? If you are talking about vanilla, there's no such thing as a Basque portrait. Will the Occitan portraits and the Basque portraits use any of the new beard and hair assets? In the upcoming release of CPRplus, the Basque portrait set is going to be using CPRplus's Western face (as will the Occitan portrait set).
Occitans use the new beards I created just for italians and occitan. Basque will just be the old italians. Will the Occitan portraits and the Basque portraits use any of the new beard and hair assets?
Ah my bad, I got that mixed up - so yes, Occitans use CPRplus's Western face, and the Basques use CPRplus's Italian face.Occitans use the new beards I created just for italians and occitan. Basque will just be the old italians.
Since this is the CPRplus thread, maybe add some comparisons or reviews of the CPRplus models? That might help the devs.Hey, is it a good moment for some feedback regarding some of the awful graphics that women have in the vanilla game?
Those are ALL from the modded game. Those of them that aren't vanilla are CPRplus.Since this is the CPRplus thread, maybe add some comparisons or reviews of the CPRplus models? That might help the devs.
The Georgian portraits (used by the Georgians and Armenians) is essentially the Caucasian portraits for CPRplus, and the Alan portrait also uses the same face (Byzantine face base + modified eyes). We've received the same suggestion several years ago, too, but I think that making the Alans look "Persian" using Persian portrait assets is a bit of a stretch. It feels to me like something akin to making the proto-Europeans look like the "Indians" (whatever that means in this cntext) on the ground that they share the same Indo-European heritage. Except, of course, that the Alans are generationally a lot closer to the Persians than the Persians are to proto-Europeans, so these are not exactly comparable situations. But hopefully you get what I'm saying.I think I have only one last question before I patiently wait out the next patch- have you guys given any thought at all to changing the Alans themselves to look more Iranian (say, like a similar idea to the Kurds, Saka, and Sogdians, other border Iranians), or do you think a general North Caucasian look is good?
Making the Qufs use the Afghan portrait set sounds like the easy solution here. I don't know why I didn't think of that before, actually.Second question/comment, and this is more probably ahistorical and something I can do on my own, I feel that the Qufs/Sistani should utilize a mix of Saka/Hvamnai physical features and Afghan clothing, given how the name Sistan derives from Sakastan when the Saka migrated to there, While the Afghan are supposed to be a bridge between Iranian and Indic cultures.
What is the "Caucasian groups" in this case? Which cultures in SWMH?Finally, and this is probably the most out there, once you guys release the next edition of CPRplus, I'm planning on remaking the Caucasian groups utilize turkishgfx physical features, with my logic (still the same from when we chatted about changing the Turkmen to being Cuman) being that the turkishgfx is representative of Turkish admixture with the local Anatolian populations. This ensures that turkishgfx is used by more than one culture, and provides a solid basis for it being there, as well as further differentiating the Caucasus groups from the Greeks. I was wondering what either/both of your thoughts are on said plan.
I totally share your criticism myself, but given sifsilver's RL schedule, the upcoming patch is only going to touch on the newly added vanilla portraits.Hey, is it a good moment for some feedback regarding some of the awful graphics that women have in the vanilla game?
I understand what you're saying, but I still disagree on the basis of that shorter generational distance. What I'm focused on isn't the clothing assets, but the facial ones, and there I feel that the Alans should still feature Iranian traits of some kind. The Georgian portraits (used by the Georgians and Armenians) is essentially the Caucasian portraits for CPRplus, and the Alan portrait also uses the same face (Byzantine face base + modified eyes). At any rate, the current Alan portrait set is basically a steppe asset-based portrait save for the face.
Adyghe, Georgian, Armenian, Udi, and I'm still unsure on who the Adhari even are, but probably not them. Like I said, the idea's a stretch; I feel uncomfortable about the idea somewhat, since I don't know what to do about the Greeks, and then there's the fact that the current setup shows a clear relationship between all the groups from Greece to the Levant. What is the "Caucasian groups" in this case? Which cultures in SWMH?
Though I'm not unhappy with how the Alan and Georgian portraits look, I agree that some more mixed look would be great. The graphical assets that we currently have at disposal don't quite mesh well, though, so without sifsilver's work the resulting product is not going to look as good as I'd like to be.I understand what you're saying, but I still disagree on the basis of that shorter generational distance. Adhari represents pre-Turkic, Persian-speaking people in the area that became known as Adharbayjan, from which the name Azerbaijan derives.Adyghe, Georgian, Armenian, Udi, and I'm still unsure on who the Adhari even are, but probably not them.
