Any idea whats going on here?
Frankly, no idea. I am not seeing this issue myself, and non-pagan Hungarian female definition hasn't been changed since when Reaper's Due came out last summer, so if there was anything wrong with it I'm sure there would have been bug reports about it.

The weird thing about the missing hair texture here, though, is that non-pagan Hungarian hairs are loaded up directly from vanilla. Could you check if other Hungarian characters and French and Norman characters are having similar issues? More details help.

Lastly, in your CK2 folder, are gfx/characters/western_male and /western_female missing files that have "hair" in their title by any chance? (e.g. western_female_hair_behind.dds) If so, assuming you are playing CK2 through Steam, check the integrity of your CK2 and you should have those files back.

Ok, now we are getting somewhere. :) One question I should have asked you: do the males have glitched hair, too?

So far my impression is that Western hair assets definitions in your setup got wonky. Western hair definitions are stored in interface/portraits/portrait_sprites.gfx (in both vanilla and CPRplus). Could you check the following:

1. Does your personal mod modify this file in any way?
2. When you open the file in your HIP folder with a text editor, what do you see in each definition that has "hair" in the entry? The male ones should have the "noOfFrames" value of 14 and the female ones 13.

Could you make Early South Slavs (Bulgarians and Serbs in particular) use the same gear/cloth as other Pagan Slavs like Croatians and Moravians.

I belive they used it before, but now they use Byzantine cloth/headgear even as Pagans.

Could you make Early South Slavs (Bulgarians and Serbs in particular) use the same gear/cloth as other Pagan Slavs like Croatians and Moravians.

I belive they used it before, but now they use Byzantine cloth/headgear even as Pagans.
That's because the Southern Slavic portrait uses era-based portrait scheme rather than the pagan/non-pagan based one. And I don't play CK2 on vanilla map, so I don't think about pagan Southern Slavs in the Charlemagne start. :D

The downside to the pagan/non-pagan switch is that you can have only one portrait type for the non-pagan portraits. Though I could be convinced...

There are Nerentines in the south that are pagan in SWMH thought.

How about making them use the same era-based gear as Croatians/Moravians then? Serbs just converted to Christianity around 870 (I think it is the same for Bulgarians) yet they look pretty Byzantine. I just think Tribal/Pagan look for Southern Slavs suits better the 867 Era. Also if Christian Croatians can look tribal so can Serbs. The change would be good for consistency.

IMO

But the choice is yours, of course :D

That actually reminds me, since the Bohemian and Western Slavic portraits each have two portrait schemes, I might as well make the switch religion-based than era-based for these portraits. Let me consult with sifsilver on the Southern Slavs.

Hey guys,

is there any plan to change the pagan-norse portraits anytime soon?
dont get me wrong, i love your work. but since the last update the norse-pagan hair just looks kinda weird. i mean, you have 18-year olds with a beard as white as santa claus, and many beards that doesnt match the hair color at all, especially with lighter colors.

Hey, may I suggest revamping the Byzantine martial portraits? I'm looking primarily at the Emperor portrait in battle, and he wears the same thing that lowly officers do. Would it be possible to make the standard imperial gear override the standard martial gear even in combat? Thanks!

Ok, I see what you mean now. For a sec I thought you were referring to the yet-to-be-made Byzantine special armors.

Sorry to say, I myself don't have much interest in making tiered, crown-wearing armors. For one thing I can't verify their historicity, and secondly sifsilver (the mod's artist)'s interest lies elsewhere. He would rather like to spend time on something else in what little time he can spare on making graphical assets for CPRplus.

I'm curious, are these new ethnicities part of the mod because I have not found anything related to this mod adding new ethnicities like K-pop or Otaku. (rofl :D)

Yes, those are legacy materials from CPR, the predecessor mod to CPRplus created by Cybrxkhan. I'm not updating those portraits anymore, however. I'm keeping them in case someone is still using those portraits, who knows.

I have a question relating to CPRplus and HiP.

Since the updated (and must I say, gorgeous) Arabic Egyptian protraits really express the fact that Egyptians are related to the southern Cushitic people in terms of facial appearance, shouldn't the Coptics also have updated faces as well, instead of generic Levantine faces?

I don't really know if you guys have control over that part of HiP, but I'd figured I'd suggest it, since it'd make my Coptic runs much more immersive.

Ok, I see what you mean now. For a sec I thought you were referring to the yet-to-be-made Byzantine special armors.

Sorry to say, I myself don't have much interest in making tiered, crown-wearing armors. For one thing I can't verify their historicity, and secondly sifsilver (the mod's artist)'s interest lies elsewhere. He would rather like to spend time on something else in what little time he can spare on making graphical assets for CPRplus.

Ηe told me once that he will make the Full face helmets for Byzantines as well, when he finds the time.:cool:

Does the mod do anything about mixing different races? For example it always bothered me how in vanilla the child of say a West European and a West African will have a Turkish portrait.

I apologize if the question has been already asked, but I didn't fancy looking through 39 pages of posts to find it.

No, the mod doesn't do anything special regarding children of mixed race - you get what you get.

As for game logic for assigning race, it's a mystery. Seems to me that things change in every major patch, honestly. o_O

That's unfortunate. It's the one thing that bugs me most about vanilla portraits. Well, the mod looks interesting even without it.
