Problem is that one-county conquest is blocked too.
Anyways, just used console command for now. Not that I like it. But that brings me to bug: after creating Austrasia and Neustria, old duxes (post-Soisson ones) whose de iure duchies became titular, lose their titles... but they become independent in the process.
Also - before playing with console, so I couldn't screw with mod - getting event informing of defeat of Syargius as Clovis was... anticlimactic - like it wasn't me who defeated him!
Yeah, all those duchies becoming independent is a problem. I think Luca0312 is working on a fix.
And the conquest CB is only available to Frankish-cultured rulers after a certain year. I don't remember exactly, but it's only a few after game start.
Make sure the mod is in your documents/paradox interactive/crusader kings II/mod directory. Make sure you didn't save a new version over an old one. Make sure no other mods are running alongside Winter King.
These are the three primary causes of that bug (the most common complaint across all the modding threads, I'm confident I've seen people complaining about the bug at least 100 times now), and isn't the result of anything developer side. It's just a bad installation, or initialisation of the mod.
This mod is so awesome XD I haven't stopped playing it since.
I am curious as to something though. Why are Uther/Arthur followers of the Old Gods. I always thought Constantine, Uther and Arthur were the first of the Roman Christian kings.
And also... the Arthur story events only trigger when you don't play as him and Uther? I glanced at the events files and it seems the Queen G is event based to appear but seems like its only coded to trigger if your playing as them. Can't seem to find her in normal searches of women either.

The mod follows the Bernard Cornwell adaption of the Arthurian legend, in which the Old Gods of Britain were still followed by Uther Pendragon, Arthur is mostly ambivalent to religion, and the main Christian center is in the Kingdom of Gwent, ruled by deeply Roman influenced lords. Arthur is a bastard in the story, and will not inherit at all unless he attacks for his claim (very out of character for him at least at the start of the series imo) or is legitimised (very out of character for Uther, who hates Arthur until his last breath). The storyline events are not scripted for the player as it'd be unfair to railroad the player into things. Thus Uther very often recovered from his pneumonia if you play as him. Playing as an Uther who recovers, later legitimises Arthur and makes his title of High King into reality is best in my opinion, as you can start pounding the life out of Cantia and Anglia immediately. Wiping out at least one of them is a surefire way to ensure long term prosperity for the Britons.
Constantine, Uther and Arthur belong to the world of myth, they aren't historical characters whose existance have been proven.
Also, this mod is based on the books of the Warlord saga by Bernard Cornwell. In this saga, Arthur isn't a christian (meaning that he hasn't been baptized) and
he is hated by all the christians of Dumnonia, who call him the "enemy of God", even though Arthur is quite tolerant and puts all faiths on the same level.

In the save I've been playing, I legitimized straight away, realised Uther was ill, so pushed a Crown Law up and switched to Primo.
He died soon after (yay!) so I got Arthur inside about 6 months. Got a bit lucky with non-allied troops helping me stop the first invasion by teaming up to take down big stack. That got me a 10 year peace truce, so I managed to build up in some peace. Merlin got killed by a lynch mob trying to convert my capital back to Old Gods (I missed it early then decided not to convert pre-high king. Helped in a few scottish and welsh wars to get my prestige up, eventually got high king at 495. Actually then lost a province (not one of mine though XD) to the Saxons as my levies were screwed post crowning, but now I'm sitting on the biggest army on the map.
I was gonna try and drive the saxons out, but the supply limits scare me. More Military Organisation!

Only if they're Christian. Islam e.g. has Issa as Prophet.
Nonetheless, it's very bad to assume anything about King Arthur. Arthurian myths come in quite a different tastes - and from what I know, it appears that Christianity is kind of a late addition to them. Moreover, most versions are contradictory with each other, so I think I'd be happy with just any interpretation as long as it'd be coherent with itself.

Fine. If you talk about a secret agent with the number 007, people tend to assume you mean James Bond.
Well, I'd never read a version they had him at anything as Christian (Or without a named religion but very much Christian in portrayal.) His not a zealous convertor of people, but pretty much always fairly clearly christian. There a few I guess where you could interpret him as being still following the old gods but its certainly not the "conventional" Arthurian story the majority are familiar with. Even then, his still portrayed as fairly christian and my interepretation of those pieces are generally that his added "god" to the pantheon rather then straight swapped (which I believe was a fairly common progression during conversions from multi-god faiths to single.)
Its not a big problem. I was merely curious (and shall have to read the books XD) as to what the reason for it was.
Hehe, I plan to do them when I get done with being a Pendragon. King Arthur was the first thing ever read to me/that i read (or really remember anyhow) and hence I am unable to play anything else for now XD.
