They did early on but I mentioned this to Luca and now the title has cleanup events so that the empire will break apart properly into the de jure kingdoms.
I'm still finishing a game on .95 so I haven't tried the latest versions, but on .95 it still does this

edit: if you just want a test game, start as whoever you want, open the console, type in "observe" and alt-tab out to go do something else for a few hours :p

I know how to do a test game and I don't want to do that. Luca does that for hands-off testing but I prefer to play through to get exactly the same experience as everyone else, as I tend to spot a lot of bugs much faster if I'm actually playing. I can also influence the outcome when I'm testing and playing as I want to see what happens when certain outcomes are reached.

You're going to have the check the changelogs for version .96 if you want the answer to that, I don't really have time to compare. I suggest you upgrade however as there are no significant backwards compatibility issues and you're really missing out on a lot in two patches.

A question about retinues.

I managed to convert to Roman and I unlocked all these beautiful retinues, but I don't know which one is best. Is it a good idea to mix retinues in this mod or no? Cause I usually read that it's more beneficial to just have a pure retinue, but this mod has so many different retinues that I'm not too sure.

Having downloaded the new version (took 5 hours on the link provided, it was confined to 20kb/s for some reason) the danish titles seem to be working perfectly.

Edit: If you missed this before, I found out my issues were because I had used the alternate link (and therefor older one).

You'd be mad to get anything other than the Elite Roman Cohort, because it gives something like a +80% bonus to the attack and defence of HI, far greater than any other retinue. Also the Roman culture gives bonuses to some troops (levies from provinces with that culture get the bonuses, and retinues count as levies from your capital province), and the largest bonuses go to HI. Optionally, mix in some kind of skirmish unit because most combats are decided within two days and never get to melee anyway. Sarmatae equites are probably a good choice.

When I go to my Paradox Interactive folder in the My Documents area, there's nothing in it at all. Crusader Kings 2 works fine however. Only by going through Steam and then into the Crusader Kings 2 folder can I find a Mod folder, and all mods I have put in there work. However, when I try to play this mod, loads of notifications come up - empty ones - and I can't cancel off of them. Why is this? It happens on the second day of the game.

Also, there's huge swathes of the map that are classed as 'noculture'. Is this intentional?

If there is no 'mod' folder in My Documents/Paradox Interactive/Crusader Kings II/... then just create one. The mod must be placed there. It doesn't work in the game main folder, and that's why you are getting all the bugs.

Let me know!

Okay thanks. Yeah I already went with elite cohorts, now I just have to wait until I can hire another retinue.

Why is it that people are annoyed at me having too many high lordship titles when I only have two? It's strange that I can have 6 counties until people get angry but only one high lordship.

Also, you're probably already aware of this, but some characters have Wikipedia links that lead to completely wrong people.

Finally, I've had the option to establish Mediterranean Trade twice now, and I also just had the option to raze my own town when I recaptured it from an enemy.

Yes, the maximum number of High Lordships you can hold without negative opinions is 1. It's intentional. The scope and balance of the campaign is very different from Vanilla, you'll probably understand after playing for a while.

You are the first one to point out about the Wikipedia links, thank you. I never noticed because I never played with the option turned on, not since I first installed the game one year ago. I'll check this issue out.

I can't see what is wrong with being able to establish Mediterranean Trade twice... it's a 5-years agreement and when it's over, if you still meet the conditions, you can sign a new one.

About razing your own settlement, well, I'm aware of that. It was intentionally left in as a choice. You never know (see above about being different from Vanilla). Anyway AI never raze their own towns.

I did the Mediterranean Trade thing twice in the scope of about a month though, and I only got the benefits of it once but paid twice.

The Mediterranean Trade decision triggers two events, usually separated by a few weeks. This is normal. The merchants sign the contract and take the money first, then they should return about a month later and from that second event you get the increase in income for 5 years (if you don't lose the province or the title first, of course).

Are you saying you had both these events twice?

I fired off the Mediterranean Trade event, waited a while, and then realised that I could fire off the exact same event again, for another price of 250 gold. I did so and the same thing popped up telling me what I'd done as when I did it the first time. A few weeks later it came up saying I would get more taxes and something else, but that didn't come up twice.

Three more suggestions:

1) When a conquest is successful, barons not of your culture should lose their land. Too often I see wrong culture Barons lingering for the whole game because the AI doesn't think to remove them and has to incur tyranny to do it.
2) When Excalibur is found during the Restore the Old Gods event chain, it should be hereditary. I can understand Arthur's death causing it to be lost, but not the death of others. It'd be a treasured possession.
3) The Saxon Black Guard should not become the vassal of a Briton, as it has in my game. They should just be a free company once the Saxons are gone, or be disabled entirely.

Also:

1) There are no cultural reclaim cbs for Luguvallum or Old Tyne which are counties of Rheged, there should be as currently Elmet has pushed Northumbria back there and then just stopped.
2) I got appointed Druid. My King had Mastermind Theologian education, but the event which seems to change education lowered his education level, which makes little sense. I suggest you do something else with it rather than changing the targets education.

I seem to be having an issue with this mod. Every thing works perfectly until I try to advance time, then it crashes. I have no idea what could be causing it.

Do you mean in the selection menu? You're not supposed to advance time, there's only one scenario.

I am of Roman culture and all my land is of either Roman-Gallic, Amorican or Frankish culture. For some reason, however, one of my Roman-Gallic counties just converted to Roman-British. I don't know why. This is the only county on the map that is Roman-British, and I own no British land.

Intentional. Roman is an aristocratic culture on in Britannia and as a result British people will only convert to Romano-British as a hybrid culture rather than going to full way to adopting Latin language and customs. I was very pleased when I first noticed it was happening as having everything convert to your culture over time is extremely boring. If the land is in Gallia it should become Romano-Gallic, though you may get a pocket of Roman culture around your capital. In Britannia you will only get Romano-British from the land you conquer.
