I have actually modded the 1.111 version and made some significant improvements, I think it would also be great to better simulate they Jutlandish expansion to Wight and surrounding territories, which here are just absorbed into Cantia.
I have also made a specific province modifier that gives a migration mechanic so it is faster to change culture and religion because it never made too much sense to me that Saxons would come, wipe everyone out and just be Catholic because the previous people were. Of course the same modifier work also backwards so if someone of British culture takes the province they also have that boost to just send the Saxons away.
I also made detailed threat awareness scripts that give an endangered realm a boost in vassal loyalty and more troops as well as a temple holding troop boost to represent how much more fanatical Christians were to help their Christian liege in order to spread the word of God.
I made complex trait-dependent AI chains that determine if someone would take on the new religion or even become a heretical Odinist for example, so the most devout norse pagans become Odinist, while those who are of weak faith may become Christians. It all creates a dynamic instead of just watching a slow and predictable Germanic expansion.
When I saw the shallowness of the ruler traits, I figured that if a player wants to keep being a pagan or destroy Christianity it would be likely that he would have a realistic chance if he were a theologian so I gave a boost in spreading religion for theologian liege and also some other benefits so now it is not only good to teach your children to be diplomats or fighters, now if you want to make paganism strong you may want to become a theologian dynasty.
