The steam version is more or less knackered I'm afraid, you're better off downloading the file at the top here and using that. It has changed a fair bit.

I did but It still crashes when I raise an army. I'm using the 1..03 version and I can't raise armies what do I do??
ah, this might be due to the unit packs perhaps? I played around with different unit packs for the various cultures to add a bit of variation. Perhaps you haven't got the ones it is referencing?

Could be it. what can I play in versions that are stable? steam works stable but you can't use scotland and wales always forms it first.

I have the opposite problem. I downloaded the 1.3 mod from the first post, stuck the MOD file in the appropriate folder, loaded CK2 with the mod, and...nope, still playing across Eurasia. No visible effect.

Apologies for my absence, my work with Nottingham Castle is heating up atm and I'm in a rush to get stuff done for a deadline.

I've no idea what combination of things are going wrong for you guys, a lot has changed since the Steam version. There has been a lot of work on cultures and I've got all of the visual DLC which has been used to some degree to make a bit of a distinction between the various cultures. I'm also not sure how this would work with any other mods either, so they may cause some undesired effects.

I'm hoping to get some more history done so at least an early start date is playable. The issue is, early history is quite vague in the details, especially the Irish tribes and family trees I'm currently trawling through. After the Normans rock up, suddenly there is way more information and dates available to make life easier.

There's an obvious, if time-consuming, way to test if absent DLC is causing any options—just turn it off one by one and see if the game breaks. I get that time-consuming is probably a deal-breaker at the moment, but it's technically an option.
Of course, if none of the cosmetic DLC causes any obvious game-breaking stuff, you've wasted all that time. But hey, at least you would have followed the best advice a random guy with no relevant modding experience can provide!

Why did I make this post again? Oh yeah, I like doing whatever theoretically helpful thing I can, but try not to seem arrogant about it.

...but in case this is actually a good idea, I have all the major DLCs except Monks and Mystics, all the unit packs except the Iberian one, all the portrait packs except Iberia and Early Western/Eastern, all the dynasty shield packs except Charlemagne, all the "other content," about half the music, and none of the "content packs". Which is a lot more cosmetic DLC than I remember buying...must have been a bundle. Or multiple bundles.

Hi everyone, I hope you're all doing well.

I have returned to just let you know things are incredibly busy on my end at the moment, I had been filling in Ireland and their incredibly complicated history and it is slow progress. Here's a quick screen of the state of things so far from the beginning start date.
Only Munster to go and then we'll have a starting date to play from.

Hope you all have a Merry Christmas.

I have everything you can buy for this game, I can't get it to work I've installed it multiple times and it works for different amounts of time before crashing. Can anyone please do a tutorial on how to install properly I've been trying to get this to work for half a year. Help me.

Since I've been concentrating on getting history in, I've barely play tested the game at all, so I do appreciate it is almost definitely buggy af. Thanks for sticking with it as long as you have. I'll try to have it running to see where any crashes pop up, but please bear with me it is pretty slow going at the moment with how busy I am.
(I'd love to be able to do this full time but needs must eh)

Hi, just stumbled across this and glad to see the mod is still active and I’m not necro-ing an ancient thread! Perhaps the most satisfying thing to see is a yellow Scotland...

I’ve been looking for a mod like this for ages and having dipped my toe in, it looks awesomely detailed. A very quick minor suggestion – I’m sure Hwicce is black on the map because of its flag, but it looks a bit like there are no characters there, especially when it’s a tributary of Mercia. Could be worth tweaking the colour?

But that’s a tiny thing – keep up the amazing work, this is great.

Evening Lords and Ladies,
I've updated the top post with v.1.04, new screens and a starting bookmark (finally)

There is still a hell of a lot of work to do but I just wanted to add this before the year ends.

I hope you all had a Merry Christmas and hopefully a Jolly New Year.

I've made a few adjustments to the map after a long time being bugged by something. The sea level was different back in the day and the outline of Britain was a little more peculiar than it is now, certain places have names which suggest a coastal or even island nature, but are currently part of the mainland. In the Anglo Saxon period they were in fact islands and marshlands etc. I was going to make the map this way originally but it fell off somewhere along the way, and I've now added it back in. I've also updated a few materials too on the map.
Let me know what you think.

In the Middle Ages, there were still towns like Dunwich that were submerged, right?
I think that town has been slowly disappearing into the sea for a while now, but it would have been around, yes. :p
