Advisement: BLC 6a is not compatible with CK2+ 1.11 (latest version). I was able to use 5c and prior, even without integration, by copying solely the gfx and interface folders. I had no problems. Presumably, whatever changes made to cultures and graphical cultures in previous versions of BLC were sufficient to work with CK2+.

However, BLC6a causes the game to crash while generating flags... for some reason.
I'm not getting a crash, but it is also not compatible with me. All of the characters are badly skewed. 5c worked fine though with the exception of several cultures (Cornish and west African ones) being "noculture".

I don't have the "noculture" issue, but that's because I don't copy over anything from the "common" directory.

I use 5c in my mod and it seems to work fine -- I copied the graphicalculture.txt (?) file across but then re-added the new culture GFX names in cultures.txt manually as I use my own heavily-modified version of that file. I don't use any of the DNA stuff added in the character history files for the same reason.

So just by copying the /interface folder and the /common stuff seems to work fine.

I am going to release 6b later today and add Croatian and Persian gfx, probably won't do much to them maybe minor minor differentiation or just a copy paste implementation... but I want your mod to work properly.:)

ON ISSUES WITH CK2+

I guess you gotta wait for Wiz to implement it guys. :( If I were Wiz I'd actually wait a bit more till I release 6b today too.

Well it's more of a "let's add it so it makes cultural cities mod" work kind of update. :laugh: But I will still differentiate them, maybe the results will be better than expected... I'm thinking maybe I can also give them the open vizor helmet Crackd made for Cumans...not sure on that though, it would work for Khwarezm but for whole of Persia ? Not sure... :wacko:

Ok, I've been looking at various medieval persian images, I got a decent idea about this first pass implementation now. I believe even with this alpha stuff they will look good. :)

The bug is actually pretty major -- in cultures.txt you have a duplicate of the entry for lithuanian culture (so two name lists) in place of what should be the entry for prussian culture. So as of 6a there is essentially no prussian culture.

Now I have a favor to ask if I may; I for one (and others as well I imagine) use a modified version of this for my mod, but it's annoying having to go thru your version of cultures.txt and compare it with mine to see which lines have changed... although on this occasion it's a good job I did or I wouldn't have spotted the above problem. ;)

Anyway, I've compiled this file for you and I wondered if you'd be so good as to include it in your readme.txt file or something and just make sure it's updated with each release of this. It should be very simple as all you'd have to do is change the corresponding line after you've made the relevant change in cultures.txt -- it's just easier for people like me, as I can just glance at the particular culture in that file as opposed to going thru cultures.txt (and mine are in a different order anyway, so it's even more confusing).

Implemented Crackd's open visor helm for Persians... thought I'd get away with a fast job hahaha...

I think the Berbers should have much darker skin too, and maybe be more inclined to wear white or black robes. I guess it depends on whether you want to predominantly represent them as being more akin to Maghrebi Arabs or proper Sub-Saharan Berbers (who weren't Arabs at all) -- I think the latter would be cooler, if only for a bit more variety on the basis that we already have four or five Arab culture groups. This was the period when Arabs and Berbers were beginning to assimilate (during the Almohad and Almoravid empires) so I suppose the distinction would become less obvious over time.

It's up to you of course, but I would definitely love to see that. :D

If the gods are willing I'm going to add a simplistic alpha implementation of Catalan/Berber differentiated clothing in 6b.

I'd really, really like to add a separate Berber culture group with its own names and graphics, but unfortunately I've not been very lucky when it comes to finding sources for names, and those that I have managed to find (which are few and far between, particularly for this period) are difficult to translate into English. I mean have you ever seen the friggin' Berber alphabet? :laugh: It's definitely cool though, and very unique, though perhaps not entirely accurate for this period.

There's also the issue that really the Berbers would live further south than the current extent of CK II's North Africa (which only has Libyan coastal provinces) but I guess it wouldn't hurt to add Berber culture to the southern part of the de jure kingdom of Mauritania.

If I get an alpha Berber implementation this build it's gonna be very rudimentary... I probably won't though already just doing the Persians is becoming increasingly prolongued.
