Italy is just amazing to visit for the history lover imho. Sicilian-Irish mixing must be awesome for looks. :blush: But on mixing blood...if you look at Roger I (son of Tancred and Fredisenda), he married Judith of Evreux, Eremburga of Mortain and then Adelaide del Vasto who was from Northern Italy(different kettle of genetic fish that imho ;)), then Roger II married Elvira of Castille, Sybilla of Burgundy and Beatrice of Rethel, his succesor William I married Margaret of Navarre, William II married Joan of England, Tancred I married Sybilla of Accera -a blonde her family originaly from Anjou... so at the very top there was very little Sicilian blood coming in the Norman rulers. I guess the very top less than 1% of the population being represented in this game would not get much Sicilian blood in... the lower nobility, the knights etc, that's where we would see the mixing. :cool:

Anyone know what is Paradox's policy regarding using and editing parts of their dlc in mods? I'd love to use some clothes from the Mongol dlc, edit them and use them in clothes sets elsewhere. I would not be posting the entire dds, just modifying some parts and using them elsewhere. Is that allowed?

They do not allow this.
As for everything we do, do not distribute any of our files, just distribute the files you have done yourself.

Also, I have included a .psd file with a better version of my coif and a grayscale tabard that you can colorize for making marshal gear. It's rudimentary, but depending on what image-editing software you are using, you can change it pretty easily. It also contains copy-pastable alpha maps as layers. It doesn't include an alpha map template for the tabard, but if you're using it over the mail, you can simply use a white brush on the alpha channel to match the edges, or merge layers, drag white output curves to 255 over a white background, and invert to achieve the same thing.

Hope this helps!

It actually is as long as you keep the DLC mandatory for being able to use it.

Probably a dumb question, but will my vanilla (w/ DLC) save work with this mod? I really want to give it a go, but the thought of starting over and losing sooooo many hours of progress is, shall we say, unpleasant.

All of this is highly time consuming to do and I'm not 100% satisfied with the skin yet, so spending all that time on the females so I can rework it later was not productive. I'm also prioritizing and fixing stuff on a priority basys. ;) Once I get a few things done I can get working on the rest, but I won't have the same amount of time to work on this in the future by a long shot, I've been putting way too many man hours into it. :unsure:

:( Well I guess I'll have to hold off playing the game until you get to it, then... hopefully not too long from now.

@CrackdToothGrin

Thanks a gazillion! :wub: Looks awesome! I'm going to put that to good use. :cool: I've been experimenting with mixing and matching lately... I realized for example that using some of your furry stuff with some European clothing can look good. I haven't finished anything yet will show you if I do and want to use something, atm I'm mostly experimenting. :cool:

@Thrashed

Well I guess they would not allow taking a Mongol clothing item, editing it, maybe merging it with something else etc, to use in a new dds set though.

@Gustavus

I don't see why it should not work with vanilla, this mod being developed for vanilla.(although you never know, there might be some reason, but it's 00:24 atm here and my brain refuses to find it:blush:) I'd say download the mod, and try to load your savegame with it. You will obviously not benefit from the stuff that works on new games, like the individualized dna etc, but you should get the clothes, skin sets, and new characters generated using cultural rules system etc...

EDIT: Oh wait you said WITHOUT DLC? Hmmmm, I guess it would work for everything except the Altaic peoples and the Alans, I believe they would just not display correctly.

I wouldn't wait. :sad: It takes me very long to get a lot of stuff done...I say I put in 18 hours into this mod yesterday, and I've spent 90% of my day on it today too, it's past midnight now and I still haven't finished what I had planned for the day... mostly because I got sidetracked I admit, experimenting with mixing and matching stuff, that and drawing some things took me forever, then I realized I didn't like the results. :mad: The Byzantine females are on my to-do list though, but it's going to take a while to get to them...although I guess I can up them on the list a bit.

Heheheh, I had talked to Marconius about that and implemented it before but there was an issue I noticed, that made me decide against implementing the in command stuff. I might reimplement it though, just had not gotten around to do it - too busy with other things.

Sadly I have to say I gave up on implementing a lot of stuff for the next version, due to some complications. :eek:o Still I'm going to be updating soon with the changes that should have gone in earlier yesterday. My latest clothes tweaking will go in later. The version I will be posting will still have differentiated pretty much all areas and I'd like some feedback on the changes, while I work on adding the rest.

Awaiting feedback!

It's looking absolutely splendid. Sometimes you get characters that look a little wonky but hey, you get the same in real life. :D Loving the mod!

Thanks mate! I'm going to slowly start tweaking things and correcting minor issues in the future. The major push so far was to get the entirety of Europe flavorized...and because of the speed some minor compromises had to be made... A LOT of stuff didn't make it into this update because I believed some minor annoyances were not worth the release...

I am also considering requests... Proof? Federalist Girl has been bugging me about Byzantine females...so that's up next I'm putting other stuff on hold to get them a new skin.

Thanks mate! Byzantium is going to get even better next version, with new skins for byzantinegfx females and I am also finally reworking hair color distribution. I did not like the way the Mediterranean hair colors worked so I am going to address that so new generated characters get better hair color for their culture.

Now that is cool. I love the new mail coif.

Courtesy of CrackdToothGrin! I did some editing to it to display right but I need to edit it further though, it was a fasttrack edit job to get it in. I'm also going to most likely implement some more of his stuff in the future because it's just awesome... I'm looking at you facemask...well and other fuuurrrry stuff. His fur hats would look good on Slavs me thinks.

Good to hear that. I will postpone byzantium campaign untill the new version is up for download! :D

Yes, the mail coif look really sweat. When you implement character wearing armor when leading troops, can you add golden mail coif for rich king and emperor?

EDIT : You and CrackdToothGrin will make a really good team. Thumbs up.

I was thinking of making a helmet with crown version in the future, but that's not coming soon. Too many other stuff to do before. I'm also thinking of tweaking the regular helm a bit for some cultures, will see when I get to it.
