You should still be able to support it the same way, no? All the stuff you'd need to support it is in dynasties.txt and coats_of_arms.txt: no need to have the CoA DLC yourself to support it.
it is possible but i chose to not have to bother with this. dynasties files is an enormous mess of code to update at each patch, i don't want to complicate things further for no gain.

No support for the DLC, okay. But I think the newest DLC is quite nice. So your decision implies, that every COA which is part of the DLC is allready covered by ARKO. Is this right? ^^

it doesn't implies such thing.

it just means that if you have the coa dlc it won't be used, so it is doesn't break compatibility.

What do I have to do to make this mod compatible with the new coa dlc?

You have to add the dynasties4.tga (I assume that's the name of the file, check vanilla to make sure) to coats_of_arms.txt and you have to add all the new dynasty CoA entries to dynasties.txt. It actually shouldn't be too hard to do, since all you'd really have to do is search for the new ones by texture number, adjust said texture number based on its new index in coats_of_arms.txt, and then paste it over to the corresponding dynasty. I don't have a lot of time in the near future, but I may well do so myself for my own personal use should I feel the need.

It's easy to do, but time-consuming is the thing.

If you don't want the ARKO pack dynasty sheilds, just the random replacements, you can do as Federalist gitl says but skip the dynasties.txt step

the texture value needs to be changed as well since this value is used already.

So from now on the COA DLC won't be supported in any future release of ARKOpack?
I can't be that categoric but it is the path i am taking.

we can now mod in different for one title.
A coa can be defined on various date through history (based on game start) or can be assigned ingame via event.

A good example is pre/post norman's conquest of England.

So, what other examples can you think of and want to be included ?



edit : mind that the feature can't be used on barony's or any other random CoA.

A good idea for this might be a dynamic CoA for the HRE. Didn't some different emperors adopt different CoA for the empire? Or am I thinking of something else entirely? I know for a fact that Byzantium did at some points.
