I think we have fixed the random crashing. It seems like it was caused by inland rulers hiring mercenaries that include galleys. For now, we removed the ships from all mercs so they won't cause crashes. It's odd that in vanilla the ships appear in a nearby sea zone whereas in AtE they simply cause a crash, but for now I think this problem should be behind us.

We're still not sure what is causing the crash while loading, but we may be able to resume some new feature work with the other crash fixed.
Quoting this because I'd like some verification. If anyone's up for it, it'd be real swell if you could go for the latest Github version (click 'Download ZIP' on the right) and report any issues. I've done some testing and it seems to be working out alright, but again, verification would be good.

The crash-at-loading issue's still there for those guys that have that issue, though. Still haven't figured that one out. :|

The crash at loading issue is very simple... you have not changed START_CHARACTER from the vanilla value of 108500, nor have you added a character with ID 108500 to your mod. That means anyone that hasn't disabled the tutorial will crash before the map pan. And no, this hasn't changed with the betas.

Simple solution: either change START_CHARACTER in defines.lua to some character in history/characters, or add a character with ID 108500. (The other learning scenario values don't matter, unless you want to mod the learning scenario to run in your mod at some time in the future.)

Been playing with the current github, all seems well, aside from the republic bugs, which isn't just the mod.

Could you re-download from the Github and give it another go? If richvh is spot-on with his advice, I think that bug's fixed now, and I'd love some verification.

We use a different number of frames for clothing, compared to vanilla. Right now we're hemming and hawwing, because I'm not entirely sure if it's alright to take the mesoamerican clothes gfx from the DLC file, rejigger it for the new number of frames used for clothing, and then drop that file in the 'Sunset Invasion DLC' module. It involving taking Paradox material out of a DLC file and putting it in to a regular mod, and I'm not sure if that's alright to do, and I've been holding back on implementing a fix for that because of it.

I'm pretty sure taking DLC assets (the clothing strips) out of the DLC and distributing in any form is against terms of service. You should get whoever's been doing your clothing to make all new clothing for the Mayas and any other natives.

Could you re-download from the Github and give it another go? If richvh is spot-on with his advice, I think that bug's fixed now, and I'd love some verification.

I did, and it worked. I ran it for a couple of years on speed five just to make sure everything held together. Some issues I've noticed:

Bookmarks are all screwed up. The native American bookmark at the starting screen requires Charlemagne, and there's a "Stamford Bridge" bookmark.

When starting a custom game, a bunch of the characters on the edge of the map (western New Mexico, most of regular Mexico) are blacked out and can't be selected. I'm not sure if this is intentional.

As said before, the Natives have messed-up clothes.

This isn't a bug, but shouldn't the Atomists have a holy site at Los Alamos? I think it's right on the edge of the existing map.
