The previous page's culture discussion, viz. the relationship between Canadian and American cultures, has merit and I agree with it to a fair degree. Implementing a revision might require a few other changes, though, since currently most of the American side of the Great Lakes is taken up by cultures playing up German influences, whereas the Canadian side is Anglo as heck.
As it currently stands, the division of pertinent cultures is as follows:
- Amerodeutsch
- Deitsch
- Rostmann
- Dellsman
- Chicagoan
- Yooper
- Northlander
- North Anglo
- Yankee
- Hudsonian
- Gothamite
- Delawarean
- Lacustrine
- Maplean
If a change were to go through, I'm curious to see if the below proposal seems more fitting:
- Amerodeutsch
- Deitsch
- Dellsman
- Yooper
- Northlander
- Laurentian (Great Lakes-centric)
- Rustonian (Anglified form of the Rostmann culture and basically just replaces it. Name subject to change, ofc)
- Lacustrine
- Chicagoan
- Ontarioan
- North Atlantic (Culture group focusing on the North Atlantic-ish region)
- Yankee
- Hudsonian
- Gothamite
- Delawarean
- Maritimer
Rostmann culture itself could possibly be saved as a melting pot for if an Amerodeutsch culture takes over the Rust Belt.
Yes? No? Tell me about all the ways this idea goes about it the wrong way.
e: On a related note, what would a North Ontario culture be called? Rupertian?
