First time playing this mod. Where are the african portraits? I have all the DLCs. If i click on nubian im getting middle eastern portraits.

Unfortunately the Facepacks aren't implemented in this mod, I would've loved to see that, though... I started a new game this weekend and wanted to play as a Russian character. However, then I found out that wasn't available (you could 'unlock' them by modding 00_cultures.txt, though)

yes, It's a little like Star Wars Ep I, so many people wanted it to be a certain way that it got frustrating, and so many people want what this mod has, but they get confused over some of the particulars.

Maybe a new bug-reporting only thread is in order, as has been pointed out this thread got a little unwieldy after page 35 or so. That way this thread can be reserved for praise for Kaga and calls for his brilliant mind to be put to use making the update for old gods.

Personally I haven`t played this mod in over two months but I often check the thread for updates. All I ever see is people complaining. Go make your own mod people :)

I'm sorry I haven't been on much lately. I've been feeling increasingly tired and out of fatigue. I have been going to the doctor the last few days and they aren't sure what's wrong with me but they seem to think it's some kind of diabetes. This condition have been slowing down my work to an almsot standstill. But since I am feeling a bit better today I decided to make a post.

Some good news though: my map maker Derrick though have still been working and the map is comming on nicely. I have also just now crushed the last bug. I have also created a name generator so all provinces will have new and wellsounding names.

I'll be releasing an alpha soon and after that I guess I will be trying to release updates at a pretty high interval compared to earlier as the map gets updated. I just have to ask derrick which parts that he have made to include in this release and which parts he thinks are too unfinished. ( He's been working with more art than the map and I am glad I found him. :) )



Does the map still look that hexy?
Well not as much but still a bit. I like it better with provinces that resemble circles rather thanshapes that make the borders look unnatural if you don't conquer a certain set of provinces.

Suggestion: change the name of "kingdom of " to "kingdom of contested lands", contested lands for short. It's somewhat ugly the way it is.
Nah, because then if you look at the de jure map, you would have that text crossing every realm.

Just wondering, once you've produced the new map, will you still be releasing versions with the old map which will be compatible with new mods? (I rather like the ability to produce a new history in the real world.)
No, I barely have the time to run one mod, running two versions of it would be impossible.

the absurd amount of complaints in this thread makes me think some people should go try to make their own mods
Nah, all feedback is good, as long as people don't demand stuff and understand that I do this on my free time and that I will do what I think would be good for this mod and worth the time and energy it would be to implement/fix it.
That being said if I fail to implement one of your suggestions it might be that I had forgotten too. =P

Yes, I'm actually quite interest what this name generator is (and I'm also curious what the map looks like now!)

It's basically the same mod, but in a new map.
The name generator is just a generator I made for naming all baronies, counties and duchies. Since they are about 10'000, I earlier expressed worries on how to name everything. That problem is out of the way now.

Playing this mod extensively the last few days (brother I play it with has some free days), cannot wait for the alpha to come out and see how much better it is.
As long as the stupid rich provinces are gone it's already even more fun i guess:D (provinces which received 5k multiple times and steamroll everything with 10k armies).
Provinces are supposed to become rich, because I thought that makes more sense. All provinces become ridicolously rich, but I thoguht that was balanced out since all provinces become redicilously rich compared to vanilla.

I dont know if anyone else has had this problem but when ever I try to move my troops they dont move ever this also includes the AI, it would be great to know how to fix this.

Provinces are supposed to become rich, because I thought that makes more sense. All provinces become ridicolously rich, but I thoguht that was balanced out since all provinces become redicilously rich compared to vanilla.

I know that, but I meant the ones becoming 10 times as rich as others in an instant, without building up any towns and such to get it.
Every county will indeed become rich due to the 5k, but repeated 5k grants due to multiple civilisation events, is what I mean.

I have one opponent to my south which never had to save for anything. He builds up 6 holdings (including all upgrades) and still having 5k left for infinite mercenaries. I don't think that's the point and it's not very fun to deal with.
We're in the year 210 now and he still has 2k left, which doesn't decrease much since he got his province completely upgraded decennia ago.
I am not against everybody getting rich, but this essentially leads to invincible provinces due to an unfair 20k (or something) starting amount.

It's basically the same mod, but in a new map.
The name generator is just a generator I made for naming all baronies, counties and duchies. Since they are about 10'000, I earlier expressed worries on how to name everything. That problem is out of the way now.

So, does this mean all baronies, counties and duchies have names that can't be found in the real world? (Well, that's quite hard but I guess you know what I mean; are they all different from the names that were already in the game?)
And how about character names? I always found it kind of strange to see a Makarios, Peder, Abu-Bakr, Xasayar and Túathal in one family. I understand why you randomized the names but it does look kind of a odd.

I've also made the amount of money you get upon civilizing depend on how many counties you own.

Yeah I have been thinknig of ways to eliminating that. Basically I would need to make the generator generate a bunch of themes I guess. I'll experiment with it and see how well it fair with a person's name rather than a place's name.

Yeah it's quite easy to fix. Go to Computer > C: > Windows and delete the folder called System32
Don't be a douche.

I'm sorry I haven't been on much lately. I've been feeling increasingly tired and out of fatigue. I have been going to the doctor the last few days and they aren't sure what's wrong with me but they seem to think it's some kind of diabetes. This condition have been slowing down my work to an almsot standstill. But since I am feeling a bit better today I decided to make a post.

Some good news though: my map maker Derrick though have still been working and the map is comming on nicely. I have also just now crushed the last bug. I have also created a name generator so all provinces will have new and wellsounding names.

I'll be releasing an alpha soon and after that I guess I will be trying to release updates at a pretty high interval compared to earlier as the map gets updated. I just have to ask derrick which parts that he have made to include in this release and which parts he thinks are too unfinished. ( He's been working with more art than the map and I am glad I found him. :) )




Well not as much but still a bit. I like it better with provinces that resemble circles rather thanshapes that make the borders look unnatural if you don't conquer a certain set of provinces.


Nah, because then if you look at the de jure map, you would have that text crossing every realm.


No, I barely have the time to run one mod, running two versions of it would be impossible.


Nah, all feedback is good, as long as people don't demand stuff and understand that I do this on my free time and that I will do what I think would be good for this mod and worth the time and energy it would be to implement/fix it.
That being said if I fail to implement one of your suggestions it might be that I had forgotten too. =P

I always fear messing up entierly, either uploading the wrong version of the mod or messing up the front page and not noticing. I hope you'll tell me, cause it's up now. :)

Does anybody know the rules about starting a bugreport thread for this mod? I know some mods has it and I haven't found any rules about it. But since only the biggest mods seem to have them I fear one needs special permission from somewhere.
