There are obviously degrees here (there is really no reason to include Essos without actual countries there), but Sahara is in the game and completely useless in vanilla CK2 and nobody bitches about that taking up resources.

But Rhaegar's army lost BECAUSE Rhaegar died, it was undecided until then, when his army fled the field when he fell. What's to say that Robert's army wouldn't have done the same had their positions reversed?
Yep, u has right. But u know, in the game Robert and his brothers can die, and still, rebellion can win war. Then what?

I am sorry but we shall have to agree to disagree. Rob wouldn't have risen up if Joffrey was Robert's heir because Ned wouldn't have tried to depose him and subsequently been imprisoned (which is why Robb initially called his banners). If Joffrey had a legitimate claim to the throne the war of the five kings never would have happened, even if he did prefer his Lannister heritage and change the Royal Flag. I expect Eddard would have remained hand for a bit then been dismissed back to Winterfell, Tywin would have been hand and would have done what he did best. GoT simply wouldn't have happened if Joffrey was legitimate, it would instead just be the story of the Targaryen Scions.
But still Robert's document authorized the Ned to be a regent. Lannisters ofc. not gonna agree that, and some war/fight over throne can happen, but ofc. in diffrent way. Barristan still will be banished, Ned imprisoned etc. and I am sure that Renly still would like to start a war, he cant accept fact that Joffrey is controlled by Lannisters. After Robert death there is a chaos in Kings Landings and many ways to start a war. If Ned would learned the truth about Lancel...? ;) etc. etc.

Also, I expect Robb did support Stannis for the Iron Throne, he was just pushed into a situation where all of his bannermen were shouting for independence, and he didn't have the fortitude of Ned to say "No, Stannis is the rightful heir, we declare for him.". The only person imho that doesn't care about claims was Balon, because he just wants to f*ck up the world like a true Ironborn :p.
Saying about Robb I mean North. : ) However, Renly too hasn't any claims, except a variant when he killing his brother.

And some questions from me.
After winning war as Rhaegar/Targ there will be some decision to call a council, cuz Rhaegar want do this after winning battle in Trident. You know, ofc. changing king and maybe some other things. (Let players decide about other staff. I mean a lot/small changes in crown laws etc.)
Now, by education there is no way to change someone culture? I focus on valyrian culture. If culture can be changed, that option should be disable for valyrians guys. ; p

This is not how copyright works. There is a fairly big difference between naming a mod after the series and including music from the show.

Anyway, it should be obvious to people that you can't include music from the show.

It's extremely simple to do in any case, so long as you have the show's soundtrack. I get to listen to the show's theme every time I fire the mod up.

It does take up man hours to craft, hours probably better spent elsewhere at this time as Essos won't have a use yet.

The in game map is a rectangle. The Sahara, Siberia and a few other regions are blacked out because they're useless, but are there because it's a rectangle. The rectangle is not extended past usable land for the sake of including geography pointlessly. Why should they include pointless landmass for no reason? Sure, if there was an uninhabitable island south of Skagos or something, leave it in but keep it black. But adding a whole continent for no reason is a waste of time, resources and... well, it's just a waste in every sense!

This is not how copyright works. There is a fairly big difference between naming a mod after the series and including music from the show.

Anyway, it should be obvious to people that you can't include music from the show.

"Copyright is a legal concept, enacted by most governments, giving the creator of an original work exclusive rights to it, usually for a limited time. Generally, it is "the right to copy", but also gives the copyright holder the right to be credited for the work, to determine who may adapt the work to other forms, who may perform the work, who may financially benefit from it, and other related rights."
Wikipedia.

As we are adapting the work to other form, we are already messing up with the copyright law...
I fear MUCH more to be stopped because of our adaptation of the serie toward a game than in the use of one music which isn't sold and on which we would have no effect.

Anyway, good thing that we get new tester... we have lot to test currently.

They actually do sell soundtracks.
Also, people have been making mods based on original IP for decades already (LOTR etc.) and I haven't heard of anyone being stopped.

Including the soundtrack is just a bad idea. First it makes it unnecessarily big, but more important it takes it for being a derivative work, which is ignored, to outright piracy which isnt.
If people want to listen to the soundtrack while playing the game then they can buy it and run it while they play, including it in the mod achieves nothing but a minor felony.

A mod based on a book doesnt effect any copyrights anyone cares about, including an album soundtrack effects copyrights big media cares about and is specifically fashionable at the moment with the politicians and is indefensible. Its not taking ideas and re-using them, which you generally dont get in trouble unless its for profit, but the distribution of licensed property, i.e. the album.

The both involve the word copyright but there the similarities end. One is the distribution of a project developed privately by the modders not for profit and based on ideas which are free, and the other is the distribution of a album, owned by other people who see them as for profit, without permission and with many copyright agreements over them.
No comparison, one is clearly acceptable, the other is asking for trouble and perhaps more important against paradox forum rules!

Its stupid to have this brought up again, theres no reason to include the soundtrack, its overtly illegal to include the soundtrack, its a waste of time basically.

If you want to listen to the shows theme, then listen to do so it doesnt need have anything to do with the mod.

One idea for the night watch would be for them to actually be a barrier. Trigger Mongol like wildling invasions that they have to defend against.

But what would a player do between invasions? Manage vassals and beg for troops. Give them very poor lands but let them trigger events that can temporarily boost their levies or gold production. Can they be given a custom council where instead of a chancellor fabricating claims they have a recruiter trying to beg supplies or troops?

If you create lots of terriories north of the wall, maybe even a kingdom and some duchies you could better simulate the wildlings infighting. If you remove the CB so no one else can attack north of the wall you have a constant source of pagans.

Pagans would have a "breach the wall" CB that says if they take control of a section of wall, they get a huge boost in resources, the lands immediately around that wall get the looted trait but pagans don't retain the land, it reverts back to night watch control.

Pagans would have a "breach the wall" CB that says if they take control of a section of wall, they get a huge boost in resources, the lands immediately around that wall get the looted trait but pagans don't retain the land, it reverts back to night watch control.

thing is, wildling invasions weren't really run of the mill were they? didn't they only happen very rarely? (no spoilers, only up to first book, but from what I can tell of the history wildling invasions scarcely happen.)
