Hey, not sure if it is here that I should post this put, I'm guessing the north will have a casus belli to become the king in the north again, and free from the Iron Throne, if so the northern lords should be able to have the ambition free the north, and on completion, besides all the prestige and money etc etc, also get a title such as "Robb Stark, the king who rose"," Robb Stark the unbowed" or "Robb Stark the Defiant". Something of that sort, I think it would be most fitting seeing as Torrhen Stark became known as the King who Knelt after he bowed before the Targaryens.

There is one small problem, there is one other tier of rank in aSoIaF. There are the Wardens, the four Lords Paramount responsible for protecting the realm from outside threats. The Warden of the North(Starks) against the wildlings, the Warden of the West(Lannister) most probably against raids from the Ironborn, The Warden of the East(Arryn) to defend against threats from Essos, and the Warden of the South(Tyrell) to defend against southern threats(Dorne at the time).

Iron Throne(Emperor)
Wardens
Lords Paramount(Kings)
Lords(Dukes)
Minor Lords and landed Knights(Counts)

The Wardens are the supreme military commanders of a region to prevent any dispute amongst the Lords Paramount over command of the armies raised. There are a few other lower-tier Wardens(Prince's Pass in Dorne, Stone Way also in Dorne, and
Warden of the Southern Marches, Ser Bryndon 'Blackfish' Tully during the War of Five Kings
.

@Morken The mod is set in Robert's Rebellion for now, so that probably won't be a concern for some time.

That seems to be overcomplicating things to be honest, just make the warden things a honourable title.

I'd suggest making the wardens titular titles instead, with it's capital in the crownlands so the King could give it to someone else if they felt like it.

The title of Warden was mostly honorary in peace time anyways. So long as it's restricted geographically(No Dornish Wardens of the North), then that should be fine. Also, it's traditionally the houses I mentioned, but the King has named other houses Warden before. So long as it can be restricted to certain regions, then it will be okay. If it can't be done, it'd be simpler to just leave it out.

It's not really that much of a problem: I don't think the Wardens are truly a "tier" of their own, since they almost always seem to be held by the great lords of their respective regions. Even when it's granted to someone else, that only elevates them in terms of the military command structure (or whatever passes for it in Westeros). An honorary title with relevant effects and limitations on granting it would likely be sufficient to convey that.

Wardens tended to be Lords Paramount anyway. Ned Stark was Warden of the North as well as its Lord Paramount. John Aryyn too. Tywin Lannister (I think?). No idea about Mace Tyrell and the South though.

Indeed they were. A few quotes on the subject:

“The Arryns have always been Wardens of the East. The title goes with the domain.”

"Robb would someday inherit Winterfell, would command great armies as the Warden of the North."

“Yet we still must have a Warden of the East. If Robert Arryn will not do, name one of your brothers. Stannis proved himself at the siege of Storm’s End, surely.”

“An able and courageous man, no doubt,” he said carefully, “but his father is Warden of the West, Robert. In time Ser Jaime will succeed to that honor. No one man should hold both East and West.” He left unsaid his real concern; that the appointment would put half the armies of the realm into the hands of Lannisters.

"The Tarlys were a family old in honor, bannermen to Mace Tyrell, Lord of Highgarden and Warden of the South."

I think the Warden titles are rather unnecessary.
No not unnecessary, because the warden title is associated with military command over additional armys, some kind of additional levys from the other lords in the warden region (north, west, ...) This could be included in this mod by getting a bonus for levys (it would be nice if this could be restricted to the wardens regions too).

And such military bonus fits very well in this type of game/mod

I believe your name is relevant here. That's what they're doing.

Might want to review the blog some more there, chief. The implication earlier by several people was to issue titular empire titles to several of the "kings" (particularly, the north) that were rebelling against the Iron throne. You'd run into alot of balance issues doing that rather than having them support a current rebel in a war.

Is there a way to configure levied armies to replenish their numbers overtime, while called up, in a manner similar to mercenaries?

Might be worth looking at if you've got large levied armies from the North Marching south, they are going to be looking at a fairly large disadvantage when forces in the westerlands or crownlands, can dispearse and re-up fairly quickly. If that could be changed it would also allow for longer campaigns rather than spending what would presummably be several months gathering an army (if you are the north).
