am i the only one having the problem where in the a clahs of king start that game either crashes or stannis is a vassel of renly, resulting in invalidating his war?

@ beric dondarrion great LOTR reference in your location. much better than the cliche walking into mordor or the shire, at minas tirith or the like.
There's an event where Stannis can give up his war and join Renly. There's a similar decision for Renly to support Stannis. Also if either loses the war against the other they join forces afterwards.

It's enjoyable to be a Reyne in the Feast for Crows scenario. I can pretend I was some bastard child that had went into hiding to avoid the systematic execution of his House. Four generations later, the Lannisters lost both the Westerlands, Casterly Rock, and the Iron Throne to House Reyne. The Lannisters now only have a few lordships left throughout Westeros, and those that have enticing claims have been killed.

The Rains of Castamere, indeed.

I was under the impression that the Ironborn were mix-descendants of First Men and Andals. I dunno.

Anyway, I know it probably won't happen, but this picture as one of the loading screens would make me painfully happy.

iron-throne.jpg

I saw GRRM saying this was the closest depiction of the Iron Throne as he envisioned it. In the words of Aegon the Conqueror, "A King should never sit easy." Fantastic art by Marc Simonetti, I'll second the movement to have it put in the mod.

The one from the show has become more iconic, when you think Iron Throne it's what you think of. GRRM wanted it to be a monstrous, asymmetrical, gigantic thing though. It wasn't supposed to be comfortable, though I could picture Joff ordering a few soft pillows... Unfortunately there's just no way to make that work for a TV show...

The one from the show has like 25 swords on it though xD
Yeah, you'd think melting down the swords of every lord of the realm who swore fealty to you or died would end up being more than 25... Alas, budgets...

Instead of having the king die at sixteen of natural causes it can instead be broke their neck on the Iron Throne.:D

Supposedly the Throne was composed of 1000 swords heated in dragon fire, I believe Aegon took the swords of every enemy on the battlefield as well. Not trying to start an argument here, I'm just a huge Song of Ice and Fire geek lol

Oh how the peasants would celebrate in the streets xD

Those must have been remarkably small armies he cooked. No wonder King Torrhen knelt, how many men could he possibly have fielded? Two dozen?

I begun writing an extensive expose on the forging of the throne in relation to the building of the Red Keep, then I discovered that medieval threadwheel cranes could lift up to 3000kg per operator, making my hypothesis collapse. Just keep in mind, though, that Aegon would not have begun forging the throne until way after the end of his wars. Unless he had been planning to collect the swords of the highborn dead all the way from Dragonstone, it is doubtless he would have them. He could, of course, ask his vassals for their swords, but that's not only awkward but also incredibly insulting.
