I just had the best game as House Targaryen. I started as Daeron the Young Dragon and he had a bunch of kids: Rhaekar, Viserys, Vaekar, and Aerys. Aerys became a Kingsguard knight at 14, had an affair with a courtier at 17, which Daeron overlooked and the bastard was named Aenys. Daeron dies of a winter illness, leaving Rhaekar as king. Vaekar marries the LP of the Westerlands and his son Vaekar II inherits that. Viserys tames the dragon of Driftmark and becomes a Dragon Rider. Aerys the Kingsguard Knight tries to usurp his brothers crown, and in the ensuing war slays two of his sworn brothers before being captured and sent to the Wall.

Rhaekar during the war gets a knock on the head and needs a regent. Viserys happens to be that regent and starts a war for the crown, landing 28,000 men at Dragonstone where Prince Daemon II, heir to the Throne lives. Daemon and his son get burned alive leaving Daemon's daughter to reign there, and becomes a lunatic after witnessing her brother and father get burned to death by Viserys' dragon. Ser Aros Blackmont, Lord Commander of the Kingsguard captures Viserys in battle and Viserys is sent to the Wall with his brother Aerys.

Daemon II would have been a great ruler but his uncle killed him, causing Rhaekar's second son Vaermon to inherit. It was amazing.

So... Is that a victory or a loss?

In terms of epic fights and battles, duels and events, it's a victory. In terms of how many lords rose up against Vaermon, a loss.

I'm still confused... Needs more screenshots!

Fun Fact: Aerys is heir to the Night's Watch.

The stuff going on in my game is worthy of an AAR, but I'm not much good at planning those, updates broke my last ones before I even hit chapter 2 on them.

Hey I know I have been asking quite a few questions lately but I am new to the game lol. Anyone know how to make Gold as the north? With Iron Isles I can raid and make a fortune, lannisters well make ALOT of gold on there own, but the North... When I raise my levies its like I'm instantly in the red. And also do you have to have a program to take screens in game?

Press f11, should take a screenshot of whatever is in front of you (f10 for map I think). Also, you should just wait before you go on any big wars, to save your gold. Or, just borrow from the Iron bank of Bravos(in the decisions section). But you shouldn't even really need to raise your own levies since you will most likely only have winterfell, which can field a large levy, but isn't needed if you are just picking on someone small, or someone is attacking you(just go to moat coalin).

Well, it's not specifically tied to Muslims since some Muslim rulers don't use dynasty themes realm COAs or realm names. Like the Mandé Sultans of Mali I am currently playing.

Upon close inspection of vanilla's 00_cultures.txt file, though, I found the line "dynasty_title_names = yes" with which correlates with what I have observed about dynasty-themed names/COAs, since it's only set for the Arabic, Andalusian, Persian, Kurdish and Turkish cultures but not, e.g., the Mandé culture.

Presumably it COULD require, additionally, that you need to be Muslim. Which would be a pity for the reasons you said. Maybe we could implode on P'dox to un-link the religions and make it separate for realm-names and realm-COAs though??
Interesting.
There is allready a petition going on to make sucession laws modable, which could fix our problem of female heirs.

@Beric Dondarrion. Sounds like an awesoem Dance of Dragons
Yesterday, I started a game with Aegon. Everything went pretty normal, except the fact, that I gave Orys Harrenhal and made him LP of the Riverlands as an full member of House Targaryen. Aegons heir, Maekar "Strongfire" died a little too early and his 2 year old son Agon II took over. The poor boy immediately faced a rebellion to install his older sister Princess Rhaeys on the throne and her strongest supporter was the daughter and heir of Orys, which somehow had a dragon. Aegon lost the civil war pretty quickly and was imprisoned his entire childhood.
Locked down in the dungeons of his sister, he became mad with the thoughts of revenge and was possesed by the idea to retake the throne. As he came of age some friends of his father started a plot to free Aegon and he managed to escape the prison cells of his sister.
Aegon quickly gathered his bannerman and took over Kings Landing, his sister fleeing to Harrenhal were Seanrys "The laughing Dragon" ruled. Orys daughter gathered an army and marched on Kings Landing. The two dragonrider met over Rosby in an fiercy fight and the laughing dragon fled back to Harrenhal. Aegon now took his soldiers to the ruins of Harren the Black´s Castel and again both Targaryen were fighting on the backs of their dragons over the battlefield. It was a long and hard fight in the air and Aegon even lost his left hand. But in the end he came out on top. As he had his own definition of justice he fed Seanrys to Balerion the Dread, while his sister Rhaeys is now rotting in a black cell in the Red Keep, thus ending the first dance of dragons.

Awesome job guys, we played a multiplayer game with buddies, awesome !

I just don't understand what Liege Factions and Crown Factions is, but apart from that this mod is wonderful.
If a civil war brakes out you will automaticly join it on the side which the factions represents.
Let´s say you have a High Lordship in the North and you are in the Liege loyalist faction. If the Lord Paramount of the North decides to rebel against the Throne, you remain his vasall and support him with troops in his fight against the crown.
If the same thing happens and you are in the Crown Loyalist Faction, you would become independend and would fight against you former liege lord in the name of the Iron Throne.

Not sure if WAD but when you give your bastard a cadet dynasty he should have "legitimized bastard". This created problem because my first son was a bastard and I gave him a cadet dynasty, however he became my heir of another dynasty.

Help!

Can you banish someone to the nights watch and have him take the black without him committing any crime? There is no banish button in the diplomacy page. Ive tried imprisoning, but all they have is exile and it sends them to another court. Also, I tried to personally interact with the nights watch and it did not have anything also there is no transferring vassalage. Also, how do you send a daughter to the silent sisters? If anyone could tell me how I would be most appreciative.. Thank you!

Usually, when you exile someone, an event fire soon after, allowing you do make the banished take the black. To send a daughter to the Silent Sisters, you need to have 5 or more childrens, not to be incapable, and your daughter have to be at your court. Here are the main requirements.

Nightwatch weird quirks..

About the Nightswatch. I just tried out playing them because i wanted to rebuilt a stronghold against the Whitewalkers. But after about 66 years starting with the Seven Kingdom Scenario. After my third or so Lord Commander dies his successor suddenly decides that hes a maester and cannot be a Lord Commander. There is no way for me to keep on playing or say No. So when i click on the only available dialog option to give all titles to the next guy the game ends with the Score Board.

What the hell is going on? How am i supposed to play the Nightswatch if such a thing happens and i cant get a clean playthrough and and cannot chose nor influence who becomes what. Also i noticed a problem. I cannot assign the other Castles to other Nightwatch members cause neither of them are allowed to marry or have children. And on the other hand there are women in my court. So i made one my councilor and gave her a good tumble also and had childeren which i thought should not be possible either.

So that means the Nightswatch is broken for the time being, is that right?

Also it would be nice to set the Technology Options to max. Because the demesne size is way too small and other technologies would help with the game balance. I dont want to use that submod because i want to have the base buildings.

I believe current demesne is OK - the families in Westeros didn't administer huge plains of terrain directly anyway.

Also, if you want to give a cadet dynasty to one of your son and you are not of a great dynasty, you have 4 Bad choices (including one with a d*ck as COA). The event also fires before the normal events if you're a member of one of the great houses.

The original game with the newest patch runs on my PC without any significant problem. After starting the game, it warns me of my video card memory(only 256MB). The loading passes well - through the "Painting" session - but the main menu doesn't appears. The game crashes at this point every time.
Does the mod have any additional requirements, or notable bugs? What should I do to cease these crashes including any methods(e.g. hardware upgrading)? Should I send, and how can I get further details?

Many thanks.

Is there a way to increase the potential for a duel to happen during battles? I've gone decades through wars without a duel.

Hi. I've managed to obtain a dragon egg with my Baratheon Storm Queen of the Stormlands and Dorne. I tried to hatch it in a great inferno, my son and daughter died. Is there a way to hatch it without losing everyone of my children ?

A cadet dynasty is a different dynasty. I don't think there's a way around it.
