Chill out people. Remember this is a mod, they're doing this out of their freetime and have no obligation to work on it if they don't want. Comments like Darrow's are the ones that lower the mod's developer motivation on the mod. So I would keep those to oneself, or vent out the rage somewhere else, there are some other mods out there you can try while waiting. GoT isn't everything there is.

It just makes no sense to wait for a full content release before making the mod compatible again. This isn't just nitpicking...I assume the mod team put all those hours into this mod so people can, you know, play it...

If they don't have time to work on the mod right now that's completely understandable. However if they DO have time, and put that time towards developing new content rather than fixing compatibility and ctd, then that's not a smart usage of time. Working smart rather than hard should always be a goal as a modder, since you're pumping your free time into the project.

I have no problem waiting as long as it takes for the patch. I do hope that they are going to patch it though. I can't imagine how tough and stressful it is to put in that kind of work.

Either way i appreciate everyone who makes mods like this. This game and the GoT mod especially has me addicted.

This has been said countless times.

The dev's working on this Mod really don't seem to give a crap. There's very little feedback or news from them and you're lucky if you have to wait less than a couple of weeks for a bug fix or porting patch.

I don't understand why.. this has been said plenty of times. Please stop only releasing patches that contain gameplay content.. just release a patch to fix the actual problems once and awhile.
Gee I have an idea, take the free time that you have to badmouth volunteers and become one yourself. You might even be able to realize the work involved if you did. They are not paid for this, it is a mod. You reap the free benefits of their labor of love. If it takes them 2 years to do this because they have lives and families of their own, then so be it. Frankly, you should be on the floor kissing their feet for their efforts, as no one else is out there putting such a great Game of Thrones game out there, even paid developers. So, I for one thank them, and congratulate them for a job well done.

That's too far. As you said, they are only modders. It's not as if they made the game themselves.
Perhaps a tad, but I think you get my point. And hey, most modders do for free what game devs won't do even if you pay them. And game devs at paradox embrace that very honestly, IMO, offering up every tool to help modders work their craft. So, I just think some posters need to humble out a bit, unless they can show they can do better.

Well thank you for letting us know the ETA, at least. Last time, waiting for 4.1 patch in the dark for nearly 3 months was really tiresome; don't know why people didn't complain back then when they can't wait 2 weeks now. I don't mind it getting delayed much longer as long as I know approximately when it is coming.

They are VOLUNTEERS and you don't really get to complain when they just give us free contents..... BUT.

What you said is also true. Devs've been releasing contents patches that would ALWAYS add major bugs which they don't bother to fix until their next content patch which in turn added another bugs. and the interval was as long as 3 months from 4.0 to 4.1. that's ridiculous. plus devs back then didn't mention a thing about the release date which only added to the fuzz.

I don't blame them and still appreciate their work, but I simply haven't been playing the mod for almost a year waiting for a bug-free version which never came out because of aforementioned reasons. I just don't see the logic behind this, as everyone is just getting frustrated.

well then you try to do it if you look through the megawar code you will see 20575 lines of code and thats just 1 damn file so yeah it does take along time to debug and we do miss out on stuff so if you want take a crack and see how long you last, then feel free

The point isn't how long it is taking, or how many bugs there are. You guys are volunteers, and it should be your decision as to how much effort you want to put in your project, and the mod is already very large compared to other mods out there.

What people have been complaining is the lack of bug-fix patches before release of contents patches.

Releasing a game full of bugs then rushing towards expansion/sequel is a behavior often observed in cash-hungry developers, because their goal is to make profit rather than having as many people as possible to play their game for a long time. However, when you guys are doing this for free, prioritizing content release before bug fixes seems just odd and uncomfortable in fans' perspectives because new contents don't really mean much when there are major bugs. What harm could it do to simply release a minor patch that only fixes a few major bugs reported by fans, then continue on catching other bugs and developing new contents?

It's my opinion that bugs do more harms than new contents do good, but if you feel differently I understand.

I'm sorry if I had offended with my earlier reply. As I said, since I have contributed 0% to this mod's development, I really don't have rights to complain. It's more of curiosity about your patch cycles. Please keep in mind I'm not complaining about the current waiting.

Did it for myself the day after 1.101 was out and I was done with updating Elder Kings. It only updates Paradox code so 0.4.4 is 1.101 compatible. Generic disclaimer: Mileage may very, but I don't have any issues running the mod.

Installation instructions are in the zip file.

I wasn't going to actually post this here, but I took your post to mean general "do it yourself" permission. If that isn't the case, let me know and I'll remove it.

Oh, I should also mention this isn't just a rehash of the quick fix earlier in this thread. I have updated the "critical" things that can cause crashes, but that's it, I haven't altered any core AGOT code, nor included any event changes from 1.101 vanilla (so an event file may be missing, I haven't checked but I never noticed an issue).

Well i guess adding new content and being creative is more fun and keeps the morale up. Just fixing bugs is tiresome and often dull and takes forever so its not as motivating as adding stuff.

Also, at least i understand that this is an alpha (beta?) version. So you have to expect bugs and you're actually supposed to run into them because you're more or less a tester. But i dont think thats a problem. They're doing it for free so i dont mind bug testing for them for free.

He wrote out exactly what I men't in a nicer way. I honestly didn't mean it in a bad way either.

Also thank you Korbah.
Look, I think the problem I see is this. Unless these folks have an intention to move up the food chain to professional developers, the rules for expecting patches and updates do not apply. Modders owe you absolutely nothing. If they are simply doing it because they enjoy doing it, then people's nitpicking and expectations of near instant results is demoralizing, and might give them reason to not bother at all. Its not constructive criticism to accuse modders of not caring about updates or what their fans want: their whole existence as modders is caring. They care about the game, the care about the subject matter, they care about your input (even when it is rude) and they are human beings just like you. In short, play vanilla or another mod for a while and stop acting like it is the end of the world if modders need a little break now and then.

I noticed something odd with percentages. I had a Master at Arms with 30 martial and he had a 22% chance to improve child's martial. Well, I put a man with 31 martial as my master at arms and he only had a 19% chance to improve it.

EDIT: I also clicked on the decision to form the Kingsguard but it's been five years and nothings popped up.

DOUBLE EDIT: dear god please remove or tone down the X wants to investigate the legitimacy of X plot. My sister wives keep trying to do that against each other.

It works flawlessly for me. Thank you very much.
