Why in this game Varys is never the master of whisperer and Tyrion is not the Hand of The King?

Ive seen Varys be a couple times, but then once i ought the lions in favour of returning aegon he ends up spymaster of langward hall or somewhere like that. But if youre not seeing them that then just means the AI doesnt always pick the same people for the same jobs, which is good.

One thing ive been thinking, can you mod in extra paramount [king tier] titles and have them work with the civil war system? Same with modded in empire tier kings and the priority of the Iron Throne events? or would they have to be modded too to include triggers for the new titles?

Lord Paramounts of Harrenhall, The Marches, The Neck and Skagos would be awesome to see pop up in games. Another Suggestion depending on whats planed for The Wall and Beyond is giving the Night's Watch (Or their liege if that's even possible) the ability to restore the Old Castles along the wall like the Nightfort and Queen's Crown since if the Others end up getting their own invasion the NW at the level it is at now doesn't stand much of a chance.

I play as Tywin and after the war I paid the ransom to get Jamie free, this though made him my heir and he isn't in the kingsguard anymore. Is it supposed to be this way?
Did the lannisters win or lose the war? If they lose Jaime is kicked out of the kingsguard

They wouldnt work immediately no. Each one is referred to individually at several times in westeros_civil_war_events and cb_types. Search for the flag vassal_of_reach for instance, you would have to add a new line of script for the new title everywhere this is. Having said that, it wouldnt be too much hassle to update the script to accomadate new titles.

Hello everyone, I'm fairly new to CK2 and the game of thrones mod and have a couple of questions, which I couldn't find answers to (tried the forum and google).
But first of all I'd like to thank the Modmakers for their great work and effort. Nicely done!

On to the questions:

1.
I'm playing as a lowly Lord in Redding and was able to get him a young attractive and lustful wife (thought that would guarantee a whole host of children.) But sure enough his wife has taken a lover. So now what ? Can he tell her to stop seeing her lover? I tried personal interaction with her and her lover, but I got no options to address the matter. There is a plot to kill her lover, but that seems overly drastic. So, is there something he can do, or must he sit and wait until the event (righteous imprisonment) pops up?

2. from my experience and from what I've seen in a youtube video technology is currently bugged in the mod?

3. anyway to help ill characters recover? Currently his newborn son is ill, and I fear it might develop into pneumonia - is there some way to cure him? Can a good maester help him? (if this isn't in the mod, I would think it might be worth implementing something via maester/religion, because having a competent healer makes all the difference)

4. This is a bit more complicated. I'd like to press a strong claim for one of my courtiers but I am not allowed to declare war because the Lord of Standfast (the disputed Lordship) "must be our liege or a vassal of our liege" ??!! That doesn't sound right. Even on the map it shows I have a valid CB but I cannot act on it?

Situation:
I am the Lord of Redding which belongs to the HL of Red Lake
The enemy is Lord of Standfast which belongs to the HL of the Northmarch
We both are simply Lords. We have different Liege Lords. But we both belong to the Reach and our LP is Mace Tyrell.

So what can I do to press the claim?

that's it for now

you will have to wait for the event AFAIK

Technology has been made almost irrelevant, as Westeros is supposed to be stagnant in that regard. We still need to replace the council job missions and make this clear on the interface though.

if your maester has high learning you will recover quicker and have less chance of gaining illness

You cannot attack him directly as he has the protection of the High Lord of the NM, who is not your liege. You have to attack the High Lord to press your claim.

Thanks for your answers :)

you will have to wait for the event AFAIK

I started a plot to kill him and my master of whispers arranged for a little accident in the woods "the roads just aren't safe anymore" ;)

Technology has been made almost irrelevant, as Westeros is supposed to be stagnant in that regard. We still need to replace the council job missions and make this clear on the interface though.

Good to know - I think it is a smart choice given the way technology works in Westeros

Great :) In the meantime both his sons recovered from pneumonia - and coincidentally his maester is a "mastermind scholar" with 17 in learning...

You cannot attack him directly as he has the protection of the High Lord of the NM, who is not your liege. You have to attack the High Lord to press your claim.

I just realized it is even more complicated. Currently there is no HL of Northmarch, so his (Lord of Standfast) liege is the HL of Goldengrove. And Standfast is not a DeJure Lordship of the HL of Goldengrove. I cannot declare war on him either. But it really doesn't matter much.

I love the liege intervention option, nothing better than annoying your vassals by throwing your weight about. That said I do have an issue with the system, here's an example.

The high lord of Tarth rebels against the Lord Paramount of the Stormlands (my vassal). The LP requests my intervention and I order the Tarth guy to end his war. He agrees for whatever reason and the war ends.

And then...well, 9 times out of 10 the Lord Paramount attempts to strip the High Lord of a title which can see the war kick off again, or imprisons him then sends him to the Wall, all because of the rebelling vassal being branded as a traitor. So from the pov of the rebelling high lord there's no good reason to stand down since your higher level liege can't hurt you as much as your direct liege can.

Seems a little unfair, could this be tweaked so that a white peace means a genuine return to the pre war status?

Im pretty sure thats a CK2 issue, where returning to pre-war status is what causes it, if youre a vassal, and your king [in CK2 not the mod] tries to revoke a title and you say no, you declare war on him. Then if you win the war, you get a truce, he doesnt [as defenders dont get truces against their attacks and are free to attack].
Then because the AI is all about maths, the numbers havent changed so he still wants that title, so immediately he'll try to revoke that title from you again, you say no, goto war, win, and repeat ad infinitum or however thats spelt.
Trying playing a different religion vassal in unmodded CK2 for the easiest demonstration of it in action, im fairly certain that'll be whats causing the problem here too. Just because the event has ended the war doesnt stop the AI from repeating the action that started it.
Its part of the games mechanics not the mods so it mightnt be easily fixable.

If events can give truces, then it might be able to give both sides truces. But just returning to pre-war status wont fix it if the war was started by trying to revoke a title. And even if it started some other way, the relationship hit from having gone to war is probably enough to make the AI want to revoke.

Hmm, I get what your saying but I'm not sure that's what I'm describing here.

To expand on the original scenario I offered, the High Lord of Tarth initiates a war to depose the Lord Paramount of the Stormlands, it's not about titles being revoked or claims or anything other than the general awfulness of the incumbent LP, or the fickleness of vassals in general.

It ends in one of the following ways:

- the High Lord of Tarth wins, the Lord Paramount abdicates and the vassal is not a traitor to his new liege.

- the Lord Paramount wins, arrests the High Lord and can then revoke a title because his vassal has committed treason.

- white peace returns both parties to the antebellum status, but the vassal is branded a traitor which allows the Lord Paramount to attempt to imprison him or revoke a title.

This I don't have an issue with, but when the Lord Paramount asks *me* to get the high Lord to stop attacking him there's no reason for the High Lord to agree if he'll end up in the same situation as if either outcome 2 or 3 had happened at the end of the war.

Specifically I'm asking if there is a way to make the white peace not involve the rebelling party being marked as a traitor. If one of your vassals rebels and loses, your opinion of him includes a relationship hit of -50 for traitor and -25 for declared war. You imprison him, revoke a title and release him and traitor disappears.

If it's a limitation of the paradox AI would it be possible to fool the AI into thinking it had satisfactorily dealt with a traitor, a quick trip to the cells followed by immediate release like what generally happens in the assassination attempts within the realm events?

And if it's impossible then it would be better if the High Lord was far more likely to ignore my request, just as I would do if I was in his shoes.

I can't wait for some kind of pre-Aegon scenario with indipendent kingdoms.

Me too, as of now the game seems way too uneventful after the starting scenarios - Aegon's Conquest has so much potential, with so many independent realms at the beginning and no Iron Throne . Hopefully once Paradox relases a Republic DLC, we'll get a nice Essos too and I'll conquer the world as the Free City of Bravos.

BTW, have you thought about increasing the number of provinces? After several playthroughts I'm starting to think there are not enough.

Well for flavour, we thought about needing a regent when you go hunting, so the hand of the king (or castellan) will rule like in book 1.

Wedding events are planned
the new tourney system (it's a bit secret I don't really know what is planned, but it may include melees and jouting, archery, all with the duel engine).
Iron borns things
Ability to take a loan from your vassals or the Iron bank (fear the consequences if you don't pay)
New scenarios that go further in the book
Sacking of cities
etc ...

But keep in mind that we also need mechanics and ideas, so flavour may be added by paradox's patches and DLC's and we don't even know what is coming next

Hi just started this mod and got a few questions. Are children of Bracken and Blackwoods suppose to inherit the Blackwood and Bracken titles? Their children of their dynasty don't seem to inherit the trait and was wondering if this is bugged? Also Kingsguard doesn't seem to add new members ever. Also tips on acquiring someone's valyrian sword?

Any plans for the Winter events? At the moment it's pretty anticlimatic.

Several questions I couldn't find an answer to:

1.
How does someone become a knight?
Meribald, the son of my Character Lord Wyman of Redding, has just turned 16 and is still a squire. His father could buy him a knighthood for 100 gold, but surely there must be another way?! Lord Wyman's brother, who was unlanded for a long time, became a Knight while still being at Wyman's court - he just fought in tournaments.... but I had no control over him in regard to the tournaments.

Meribald was tutored by a Knight of the Kingsguard (brother in Law of his uncle) and is now a formidable fighter, skilled commander etc. with a martial of 26. So what now? Do I simply wait for him to become a knight (by taking part in tourneys) or what is the best way?

2. The county capital of Redding is Redding castle - a Large Reachman Keep. The upgrade to Small Reachman Castle says (X)Never - does that mean this is a restriction to keep smaller Lordships from building large fortresses?

3. Lord Wyman got knowledge of a murder which has taken place at his court. His master of whispers was murdered and he knows the man who hired the killers. But "righteous imprisonment" never popped up - is it because the master of whispers is not an official position?

Could someone tell me the exact requirements to get Dawn, as a member of House Dayne? I got my son a good tutor, formidable fighter, all the good and knightly traits.. and even after he's become lord, nothing on that account. Has an event not been implemented, or is there something special?
