Just a question about Spanish Civil War. I'm playing as USSR and decided not to ratify non-intervention when the event occurred, thus incurring a 5% dissent hit. Fair enough, but I have now had the same event four times ! 20% seems rather steep - is this intended or a bug?
Now that I've had a chance to play the USSR and check out this event myself, I have to agree with you... all three USSR choices cause Dissent, and the event triggers again and again. It looks to me like there is a problem with this event, and EITHER:

1) one of the choices should reduce Dissent instead of adding it, OR

2) there should be two versions of the event, one of which triggers ONCE and adds Dissent in all three options, and then another version that triggers again and again but only adds Dissent if a specific option is chosen.

A local variable could be used to ensure that event #1 only triggers the first time, while event #2 triggers on all subsequent occasions.

EDIT: on playing further... it seems that this is exactly what quintelosky has already done. The first time the event triggers for the USSR, all three choices will give a Dissent hit... but in subsequent triggerings, there will always be a choice that gives NO additional Dissent.

i dont understand why the team decided that the resources in the mod is too much by default , and the resource events are so unpredictable like in my game of brazil i had no resource event at all >< and its 1943...........so what determines these events ? just by chance that i had no event for 9 years ???

and by 1943 japan ran out of resources and only had IC of 14........

Hi everybody

vimhawk : ok, i will correct the ussr no-interv. events

Gen. Skobelev : i don't contact with skif team, i don't know if the adaptation is possible. i can't do more, i don't have time to adapt the icons. All aid is important for this mod.
I will review the prioritizing inf/mot techs

whitewolfmxc : the generals of expeditionary forces is a game design. I will review the minning techs for the next version, ai china,keyn/self techs.
The resources events don't runs in 1934 lite

Scorpi : no, i don't have a changelog, but the version have a lot of changes

Andrew EAGLE : the mod34 is compatible with all hoi2 versions, i can't do a specific version of a specific version. The mod34 don't correct the bugs of the game, this is labour of paradox :)

the kookaburra : no, don't exists a manual for mod34

tedescooo : yes, works in all hoi2 versions, is 100% compatible with hoi2, is the only mod that is totaly compatible with all versions/expansions of hoi2 ;)

Hey thanks for listening to all of us , and your work is most respected and appreciated XD

1)
Also i was thinking can China should receive more resources from the allies and soviet , and even units like the Americans did gave older models like p40's fighter to china and the soviets also sent pilots and planes to china as volunteers

2) and also i was hoping to see germans doing alternative tactics , and have actual effects on the nation like

after Germany took French , they have an actual in game event to chose between Sea lion / Barbarossa / and alternative (hold ground and help more on Italy or other axis teams even have ally with japan and help to invade south america)

(by the way i like it now how Germany will take republic spain if national spain failed , caused now it takes gabriator and it works for the all axis strategy)

A ) for example if they chose Sea lion , they will get tech plans for more advanced planes and sea transports , also when an event where the AI (or player choses to) will build sea transports with some small fleet with marines and some air support (CA and Tactical)

and when the operation comes at date the AI actually uses the units to do the job (like how Germany DOW Poland it should be a event to trigger he operation , although the date is fictional but i would suggest around 1941 march etc )

But also if Germany does chose Sea lion , england (AI and player) will have certain events to add homeland security

B ) as for Barbarossa , they get armored units tech plans and the current preparation is not enough , the AI needs more motorized units and armored units , need to give a building bonus to these units and actually make AI build them and when the AI or player choses to invade Russia , also giving a short time period of TM modifier (until winter) when the operation starts

(by the way it should be a event like DOW Poland , as sometimes the player doesn't remember when should he invade XD , also the event can give the above bonus like more distance supply bonus to Germany)

C ) As for alternatives , its up to the team , but i guess giving more expeditionary forces to Italy and maybe let them "negotiate" to getting some land from Bulgaria due creating a land route to balkins after they took Yugoslavia, i would say a sea port in Greek will be good for them to build a invading point for turkey and help Italy in Africa

you know what im trying to say ? i know its a bit hard to read XD

and allying japan is a good choice , while they can also start to invade south America for raw materials XD (they can do that by either allying with fascist Portugal or invading it with the help of nationalists spain dues getting a more easier foot hold to invade South america)

3 ) and the soviets need more events on how Stalin came to power and wiped out a lot of high ranked officers and generals , and this is not reflected to how the soviets were out of command when the Germans invaded dues in game the Germany didn't make enough progress in early 1941 and onwards it gets pawned pretty quick

some events like :

A ) historical generals and minister gets killed (but if your the soviet player you can chose if you want to kill them but if you don't it will have bad affects since they don't like you giving the orders XD)

B) until some time around early 1942 , all the soviet troops will have a moral deduct effect like 20% and a organization deduction like 30 % , this will give Germany a short blitzkrieg in early 1941 game unlike currently it doesn't make it to leninigrad or even close to Moscow

C) disccent added when the AI or player choses to do cleansing in the army , like around 30

Italy declares war on Japan??

Hi All. 1934 Mod v040
Playing Germany and it is 1940. I am allied with Japan and Hungry and at war with Yugosavia. Suddenly Italy declares war on Japan. What happened? This is so far from what I expected. Is this a bug or can this turn of events be defended?
Very intrested to hear if this is a expected event in this Mod.

Hmm, strange. Did Italy guarantee Yugoslavian independence before you attacked? And how is Japanese belligerence? Could be Italy is protecting Yugos and DoWed the one with most belligerence.

What happened was that you and your ally Japan declared war on Yugoslavia... a country whose independance is guaranteed by Italy. So Italy responded with a declaration of war against the aggressors.

This has nothing to do with Mod-34... it is a perfectly normal consequence of your violation of Yugolavian sovereignty. The same thing wold have happened in vanilla.

When playing the full 1934 scenario as Nationalist China, the "Seven Secret Japanese Points" event modifies the Diplomatic Relations between Nationalist China and... Nationalist China (???).

If you pick Option A, you like yourself :D , and if you pick Option B, you hate yourself  .

... I suspect that it was actually intended to modify the Diplomatic Relations between Nationalist China and Japan instead.

I realy don't know if this problem is occuring because of the mod, but when I open the game editor show me the following message: "Expected command to be a closure in line 2785.".

I've another folder with vannila ARMA 1.2, and the editor opens.

And why would you want to open the editor? It has tendency to screw over the installations when used.

Retiring "Old Guard" leaders.

Playing as Germany at the beginning of the game the old guard leaders have a retire event. This is great, but it misses a few army generals and does not seam to delete the Navy and Air generals. That is not a real problem but it got me delving into the files.

Where can I find this event to tinker with it. I am sure it is easy to see but it may be my terrible attempts to translate Spanish causing me a problem.

Thanks

db\events_34\Eventos_mod34\mod34.txt is the file.

Well manually you just screw one file (which should be backupped, by the way). With the game editor the entire game install may/will be corrupted so that is a bit bigger problem. ;)
