As Austria-Hungary I refuse to demobilize because I have plenty of IC to support my army build things and keep consumer goods at like 170 all the time, which means dissent disappears within a couple of months. I really have no incentive to ever demobilize, even if I'm at peace (which I was for about a year and a half). The starting dissent was a huge penalty, but once we broke Russia and Italy I didn't need to keep building divisions and got rid of all of it within a year or so.

Also, the massive income allows me to do 'war games' like 20x in a row and almost all of my commanders are skill 3 or higher even if they've never seen a fight in their life.

I guess this is just a case of "Over 300 IC = You Broke the Game".

To be honest, most of the time if you see the "demobilise" option, you've already won the World War and there's little to play for.

However, there are times when it's not, and you might choose to demobilise because it makes your economy and research less efficient than being demobilised. However, if you've got 300 IC as Austro-Hungary, you've won the game and can basically re-make the world as you wish at this point. Go and invade the US or something. Beyond the World War, Darkest Hour is very much a game of making your own objectives.

I successfully couped the USA in 1916 and they joined the Central Powers. Every one of the non-puppet Central Powers has about as much IC as every other country in the world combined. I think Germany alone has a larger army than every non-CP army combined. Broked!
